    This man deserves all the credit for Floyd success. The fact that roger was there to continue to train Floyd JR when SR was in jail is a credit to SR because he trained roger and roger was the next best trainer for JR.

    Great interview. Floyd Sr is right, he build and groomed his son from day 1 to be the ring genius he is today. Sr made it happen.

    • @fidelnenas8390
      @fidelnenas8390 Před 4 lety +1

      WillieBization Sr started by teaching defense his brother Roger trained Jr into the complete boxer that he is today. While Jr was coming through the ranks Sr was in jail. Jr hated his father for abusing him and giving his mother drugs. Roger became Jr mentor and trainer.

  • @TheThepretty1
    @TheThepretty1 Před 11 lety +7

    Floyd Sr. is the reason Floyd is the great fighter he is today, his foundation was built through his father techniques.

    • @fidelnenas8390
      @fidelnenas8390 Před 4 lety

      pretty the dawn Sr is not the only reason, Uncle Roger took Jr and trained him. He gave him the tools, knowledge and connections to rise within the sport. Sr was in jail when Jr lost the gold at the 96 Olympics Roger picked up the pieces and trained him when he turned pro. when Sr got out of prison Jr wanted nothing to do with him. Jr and Roger credit Sr for teaching Jr how to fight defensively but Roger taught him offense, mental focus and perseverance. Between Jr talent and hunger he was able to advance successfully through the sport. Sr had a drug habit and a jail sentence. You can’t train you son when you locked. Roger and Jr built the money team. Jr brought his uncles & eventually his father into his business.

    Floyd, Sr, Joe Jackson, Earl Woods, Richard Williams...ALL LEGENDARY BLACK FATHERS who masterminded the greatness out of their children. There's nothing in life like a black father who see's greatness in his child. He makes moves fully aware that he'll NEVER be immune from the criticism...NEVER... but he continues on in the presence of all the haters. Mad respect for each of these legends.

    I did not grow up in this Country...as I said I am from Russia....But I disagree strongly that black and white people sound alike when they speak English...Im not close minded...I accept all people...I am a law student student...Not dumb or ignorant. But in my experience learning the English language...blacks and whites speak it VERY differently in USA. And Floyd Sr is not from the country according to my research, he's from inner city of Grand Rapids, MI. He grew up street fighting in ghetto

    I think big Floyd should let go of the idea that "He created/made lil Floyd what he is today".
    It took alot more than taking him to the gym as a baby to get Floyd to this point, sure it started it, and it should be acknowleged but it's not the reason totally.
    Floyd jr put in that work to get here, Sr needs to acknowlege that

      To be fair its a hell of an advantage for a talented kid to basically train as a pro from day1, 4/5 years old. . That only comes from a willing and driven parent. You would see a completely different floyd today if he had a childhood of eating candy, going to movies etc.
