All driving abilities and comparisons aside, and discounting whether a question should be asked or not by the press; Michael chose to stay at the table and speak volumes about Ayrton without saying a word in front of millions of people. For me, he answered the question perfectly. What does it really matter who was better? It's the passion they both possessed that fueled a fire within us fans. Would either man ask anyone to dislike or hate the other? I truly don't believe so. Yet the war wages on and does an injustice to both. We are all capable of good and bad. What makes any of us adequate judges? Especially if we haven't walked in their shoes.

Schumacher was behind Senna when he crashed and Mikka was there too, it is totally understandable that they were overwhelmed with emotion. I believe that Ralph did the right thing though, he took the light off Mikka and Schumacher by conducting his interview, giving them a 'break' supposedly - although he had his hand on his brothers back comforting him, so his brother knew he cared and was there. He did the right thing for the situation, the strong thing, which was to deal with the reporter.

    For fuck's sake...
What a tactless fuckhead, was he enjoying watching a man cry over the memory of the death of someone who, regardless of whether he was his friend or not, was an enormously important person in Michael's life? Plus both Michael and Mika were on the podium the day Senna died so they really understand what his loss meant.
Senna was the peak of F1, the guy you had to overcome if you wanted to be called the best, for two multiple world champions like Mika & Schumacher they much more than most understood and admired Senna in a way most people simply couldn't.
Plus the tactless fuckhead almost sounds sarcastic when directing his questions.

Knowing what Senna was, beating his record amount of wins, unarguably being one of the best f1 drivers of all times, and finally being able to let the numbers argue for him, his status as a legend was forever made. Being able to equal those you once respected as a legend is something not even 1% of us can ever attain. Crying at that just shows that you've earned it.

More detail: he actually retired on 4 of the last 7 races prior to this one.. so that's where the criticism came from.
Another interesting point:He was HEAVILY criticized in Italy in 99 because there was a rumor going around that he didn't want to make his comeback from the broken leg until the 2000 season, labeling him lazy, and someone who didn't want to help Irvine. Some said that's what pushed him to come back earlier than he should, so winning in Italy sure must've felt like sweet revenge
