  • www.unctv.org The peak of the tourist season has long since passed, but there's still been a flurry of activity in the town of Sunset Beach. One of the town's best-known fixtures is fading away after decades of service. www.unctv.org

The new bridge is convenient and safer but we sure miss the quaint, less crowded beach.

Has anyone even mentioned using it for crossing for a walking pedestrian bicycle riders. Making a permanent way to ride your bicycle across. Even tho the new bridge has a pedestrian walkway it seems scary to walk across with all the cars flying by.. making the swing bridge into a walkers and bicycle bridge seems much better than just sticking on land being useless. Why not continue using it for people who don't have a car and don't want one. Imagine how much that would impact the climate there, it would be a great asset to climate change.
