Agreed. 15 years ago, parallel twins were the “sucks ass” option… now, they’re like the go-to for new bike designs for most manufacturers… it’s like they made a “success” out of “sucks ass”! It’s not right.

@@Tom_Moxon I grew up in the era of ZZR's and if there's one thing Kawasaki did better than anything was engines. And then for some reason they went as boring as shit. A couple of the modern ones that I've ridden have been OK, like the Ninja 1000sx or the Z900. But a Z900 isn't in the same league or 'fun factor' as the MT09.

It is special, it's different, it's usable, and the bottom line which more motorcyclists should focus on - it's FUN! The smiles/mile on this bike are pretty unmatched. It's a happy little thing that is well built, well engineered, and a bold "fuck you" to the world of parallel twins and practicality. I can't ever see myself selling it. Zack, this is a video idea for you and Ari:
    Sport standard vs Supersport.
In which you could feature the Ninja 400, Ninja 650 and Ninja 1000 to their supersport counterparts, the ZX4RR, ZX6R and the ZX10R. It would be a perfect video to compare and contrast the strengths/weaknesses, features and so on all while exploring the Ninja DNA between models. I understand it would likely be a logistic nightmare, but it would surely be worth it. Something in the style of your ZX6R + Z900 vs R6 + FZ09 video would be fun. It's just the perfect opportunity since the ZX4RR has finally made an appearance and became that supersport counterpart to the Ninja 400. Make it happen! 😁

except for the fact that the reason why the US spec was less powerful is different.
the integra R was less powerful in the US cause the US had tighter emission standards than the EU/Japan.
for motorcycles Euro5 is way stricter than what the US currently has. so emission regs ain't the reason the US spec is less powerful.
this time the reason is that the EU sped is tuned for 95 RON gasoline, which is equivalent to 91 octane in the US as the US uses AKI, as that is the worst gas you can buy in the EU.
