Thyssenkrupp ISIS Traction Elevator in Kirkwood, MO

(July 2023) I managed to stumble across another Thyssenkrupp ISIS 1 in the St. Louis area! This one is in an apartment building in Kirkwood. It was installed in 2005 and seems to have been upgraded a bit. It has regular aurora buttons in place of the magnet sensor buttons and a buzz instead of the regular chimes. This is still a neat elevator and it runs ok.

I think the indicator would have originally had the "centered number" with an arrow next to it too. I'm curious why these upgrades are done. It's possible TK does them when they replace the kevlar ropes with steel, but not sure. All of the known examples of these in California have the "off-center number" that I think indicates upgrades of some kind. I'm not sure if it's at this point yet, but someday it may be rarer to find one of these that's "unmodified" than with the upgrades (in the western US this is probably already the case).

The fact this has regular clicky buttons and a replaced indicator makes me think the fixture circuits have been replaced.

Hard to explain but some are high pitched and likely for this one is low pitched
