      Uhh, define "bluffing more frequently"
      I do bluff more in zoom than in regular games where im isolating fish, because you just can't bluff fish and you shouldn't
      But zoom is infested with bad regs who are either tagfish or nits. But keyword here being "bad", they'll go on chip spewing tilt every once in a while.
      So I only run about one big bluff per session (hour), when I'm just feeling like I'm in the right position, I can see my oponent is really wavering.

    Started watching your vids a couple days ago and damn they’ve helped. Tightened the hands and I never really understood position until you explained it in it’s like telling a story with betting and guessing their ranges. Practiced that and man it’s been night and day on winnings. You just have to pay attention and I feel like it’s damn near more important than your hands though that’s still important.

    Maintain a running maximum stack total and when your stack dips below a certain point relative to your maximum, perhaps 30 big blinds, end the session. The best way to avoid letting your inevitable tilting destroy you is to have an independent formula for when to walk.

    I play about 1500 hands per session now. I think the most important thing for people to realize is you are playing 5-10 times faster than live poker. I went all in with full house and thought I was 100% the nuts not even realizing the guy flopped quad jacks. hahahh. You forget online that you see so many hands you just have to expect youre beat.

  • @bobbylupo2553

    Great video. You should make a video on HUD-free and anonymous sites. I play ignition zone poker and I find that I have to make significant changes to my strategy due to the anonymity. I've been actually 3-betting more linearly rather than using suited wheel aces since it seems like people open tighter ranges. I feel like the ability to instantly get a new hand makes players less likely to open marginal holdings. I'd love to know your take on this.

    • @hawkeyerichardson5026
      @hawkeyerichardson5026 Před 2 lety +4

      I, too, play 2/5nl Ignition Zone where you are anonymous and it is relatively impossible to get data from a HUD on the players. I view this as an advantage as at age 70, I'm probably just not mentally fast enough to be watching and integrating HUD stats on other players into my play. But, they can't get any info on me either, so I at least have a fighting chance. Having played well over 100,000 hands and experimented with various styles, I quickly learned that using standard opening hands and position charts for regular poker and Zone poker with HUDs will get you destroyed in anonymous Zone games. With a VPIP of around 10.0 and seeing an average of 300 hands per hour, playing only the best hands in position is the only way I can at least break even. Aces over kings occur statistically once every 440 hands. That means in a three-hour session, I could see Aces over Kings (mine or theirs) THREE times during the session. That is why it seems like there are way more coolers in Zone games -- there really aren't statistically, it just seems that way because we are playing so many more hands than a normal game. I never bluff, and when someone raises me bigtime after the turn or river, I seldom call unless I absolutely have the nuts or no worse than second best hand. I think the other players on Ignition do the same. While bluffing and three-betting preflop may win you a few extra ante's, I never make my money that way. My profits (and bigger losses) always boil down to just two or three big hands per hour. Thus, I may get bluffed a lot but I don't care. If I don't likely have the best hand or there isn't much likelihood of the pot getting large, I just fold and move on. The big hands often end up being coolers for one of the players with bad turn and river cards busting Aces and Kings. In truth, it can be a really boring game, folding 270 hands per hour and only really being in two or three to the end. But, playing smaller pocket pairs hoping to hit trips, non-Broadway suited connectors, and suited non-connected aces, especially out of position, is a recipe for consistent losses. I have gotten to where my BB/100 is hovering around 8-10, which is apparently pretty good. At 7 bb/100, that means a profit of about $1.00 per hour. Thus, on average, I make about $3.00-$4.00 during an average three hour session. I admit that it is insane to sit for three hours to win $3.00 -- and that is if I play perfectly. But, at my age, I have time to kill. And, if I play any other way, I KNOW I am the fish and that is no fun at all. Good luck.

      @@hawkeyerichardson5026 Thanks for the lengthy reply it was very inciteful. I assume you meant .02/.05 zone based on your profit/hr. If you are making 7bb/100, I would definitely move up stakes. You have a sample great sample size so your true bb/100 will most likely be between 5--9bb/100 and rarely stray from that. I would either A) add some low frequency bluffs in spots with the nut blockers and see how it affects your bb/100, or B) move up stakes and see how you do over a large sample size. Either way, keep crushing!

      @@hawkeyerichardson5026 Very good post and I have to agree. I've also played A LOT of online poker in my life & I lately tried zoom poker more seriously - it's literally impossible to make money with it. I know, I know, only a fish says something like that and I AM A FISH because in today's poker, unless you're a 150 IQ genius, it's literally pretty much impossible to turn a consistent profit in my opinion. Live poker is a different story of course but online poker has gotten so ridiculously hard that I might actually try your strategy. Yes, it might be boring, but if it works, it works. Being a break-even player who plays, for example 0.25/0.50 zoom, but has A LOT of volume can actually give you a pretty nice profit if you have rakeback.

    I play aggressive on blit poker. Tag style definitely. I think the bottom of my range is 7/8 or better. I don't play A10 S out of position and when I flop the nuts if I think my opp caught a big piece I always go for the kill. For example.... If I have K10 and I flop a straight.... If I think my opp range has an Ace I may ust straight put him all in. These guys can never lay an Ace down learned that trying to bluff to much and ace 2 we're calling me down

      At the micros virtually everyone 4 bets only with JJ+ or AK therefore A2 - A5 is a dog.

    Reraise with A3s. And you saved because people will just fold and wait for a better hand. Well you're entirely incorrect. We snap call re raises and checked to the razor and he bets and we call and then they freeze and we take the pot. Oh you people want to be the aggressive play a lot of hands when a lot of money real quick people that's all fine. But people like me bust this kid up and I don't care who he is. Another video he says do not C bet with this certain flop when you have two over cards in position. Long story short the board is really dry. The very next video he said you need to check these boards because it hit your opponent's calling range way more than it does yours. This guy just thinks up by an and explained what he would do with it right then and a lot of times it's two separate deals. And you got to love the fact that he's not really a great poker player but he wants you to think he is and all he thought about his hud and people stats more than poker. These are the players that killed this game live
