    Since I have one Ego 765 Leaf Blower with a 5.0 Ah Battery, I don't use the battery for anything else
    Buying this converter would allow me to have local power for a while when I need it when working on my car, and I don't have an outlet nearby. I normally take out my Honda Generator to fill that need, but now I could get this Ego PAD5000 for those momentary usage which I think is great. This put this nice large battery to use for other things besides leaf blowing as at the moment I don't own any other Ego tools.

  • @TCPUDPATM
    @TCPUDPATM Před rokem +6

    I think it’s important to clarify that bigger batteries CAN absolutely provide more power. However, many other things also need to be considered such as the power draw, and voltage configuration of the batteries.
    The power inverter had a maximum power level that is far lower than the limit of both batteries. Therefore, the larger battery will only give you a runtime advantage.

    • @matte-d349
      @matte-d349 Před 8 měsíci

      Yes, the video author clearly has not used the 2.5 ah batteries with an Ego snowblower before... can it power it? Yes. Is it as powerful as a 7.5 ah battery? Absolutely not. Runtime is not the only difference... The bigger 3000W Nexus inverter will even show you the wattage difference of what you can power when you install a single 2.5 ah battery vs a 5 ah or 7.5 ah battery.

    Interesting that the 400w Nexus can do something that the massive 2000w Nexus Power Station can't -- technically that means one could theoretically connect it to a solar panel and provide live power while keeping the battery topped up.

    Great testing. I have varied sizes of portable pure sine inverters: a 300w and a 1500w and a 3000w. This one would be a definite buy if it were more centered between my existing 300w and 1500w (if it were 600w to 800w, ideally). Still, it seems so convenient! For all us Nexus Power Station + Nexus Escape owners, l'd love to extend the life of these units with a LiFePO4 battery, ideally a 5KWhr 48v Server Rack.
    If you take your EGO Link backpack adapter
    (BH1001), and remove the connection cable from the backpack (or simply buy a replacement cable
    ARC1500), can you connect the backpack adapter to the Nexus slot, and the other end of the Link cable directly to the + & - leads of the LiFePO4 battery.
    This would be a great option for us in the EGO ecosystem.
    Thanks much.

    With all due respect, a 12.0 Ah battery will absolutely provide more power than a 2.5 Ah battery. The voltages may be the same but the Amps are not. The 12.0 battery will experience less voltage drop while used by a power hungry device. Just put each into a blower and see the difference

This inverter turning itself off after a few hours (about two hours) It piss me off cause my speaker has to reconnect to Wi-Fi again and again! Yes the battery is fully charged (4 Amp) also tried with 5 Amps should run for days.
    I'm thinking the inverter goes into sleep? How dare they if that is the issue? Or the power draw is so slow that it doesn't detect it?
    Well that doesn't make sense either . So while I run the speaker in my backyard I said ok I turn on the LED lights built in for more power draw. Same thing the inverter turn itself off. Than I tried only its led light running nothing else plugged in. It still turn itself off after a few hours (again about two hours or less) Either test or wasn't even a test just normal want to be use the ego battery never was lower than 75% or full. ONE more thing! The USB A 18Watt charger port on the inverter it sucks! I tried to charge an iPad mini
    on it and it would take hours so I don't believe it puts out 18Watt as it's marked on the inverter so had to take the Pad mini back in the house to charge it in no time with an other wall charger. I have not tried the USB C also claim to be 18Watt charger port on it.
    I'm force to return it to Amazon before the 30 days expires...Please TEST this and comment on it or both!

      You have to draw more than 10w on AC or 100mah on usb... otherwise it will shutdown by itself after 2 hours. That's something described in the user guide.
