    C / G S = C (A thru C) class based on factors of weight and power, then G for gasoline as the fuel, and finally S meaning it has enhanced intake, exhaust or fuel control or any combination (on this - mechanical Fuel Injection from the look of the inlet "rams"). Yea, and NO tail lights or trim.

      Not an easy thing to google. Did the same last night, too. Looks like the "S" maybe have initially been for Supercharged. The "non-S" classes went all the way to H and had much finer weight to displacement classifications.

    For turntable...take cardboard cut to size of table and spray adhesive cloth to it. Make multiples in various colors and velcro to top of table. Now you can easily change table color to accent the paint job .

    Air brushes work great because of the scale. However have you considered something with a fan pattern such as a Sata Dekor. It will definitely make those metallics micas and diamond sparkles easier to get a uniform finish and eliminate mottling and striping. I think some of the air brushes have a fan needle and cap set as well.
    A few suggestions as well.
    1. For cleaner tape lines try 3m 471+ vinyl tape. It has cleaner edges and can be "bent" into shape and comes in various sizes down to 1/16 inch. If you are worried about it pulling off paint underneath the tape and/or only want straight lines try 3m #218 HD. It's a specialty tape designed for two tone paint jobs. It's designed to stick to the fresh first colour and won't bleed the second colour, and not pull the first colour off upon removal. Both tapes work well with waterbourne paints.
    2. To press your tape edges down nice and tight try using a small thin piece of Teflon. A good source for this is a windshield moulding installation tool.
    3. If you are worried about your tape pulling off any paint or decals you can "dull" it. Use your ungloved hand, rip off your piece then just pull downward with your fingers on the sticky side of the tape. It will dull some of the adhesive of the tape.

    • @starman6280
      @starman6280 Před 5 lety +4

      Yes it was. It was the engine used in the original Chevrolet Corvette. The Corvette was almost canceled because of a lack of power. Was saved when the small block V-8 was installed.

      The Blue Flame was also a land speed record holder in 1970. 630 mph. Liquid fueled rocked?.. (rocket) engine. (natural gas, thus Blue Flame). ( LNG & hydrogen peroxide)

      Which sounds infinitely sexier than the old "Stovebolt Six" moniker that they also called them because of the large slotted-head screws used to fasten the valve cover and pushrod covers to the block. My first car was a barn find '53 Chevy 210 with one of those (bought it off my great-uncle for 75 bucks!).

    The lines in the decals leads me to believe that they were printed with a sublimation printer such as an ALPS. It's one of the very few printers that can print white. You can print white on a laser printer but it takes some modifying. Also, when printed with a sublimation printer there is no need to clear coat the decals before applying. They are already waterproof. I used to own an ALPS printer a long time ago but times got hard and Papa needed money for the rent (LoL). I wish I never sold it. On a different note, I'm wondering if you can screen print white on a decal sheet where the decals will be printed and achieve the same kind of result. Like how they print t-shirts. And obviously it needs to be a dull/flat white and not a glossy one. Any ways, great custom. Again. Thank you for sharing your work.

    WOW Buddy that was such a great custom, love that Color you did on the roof that just set it off so much better,than just using the flames on there,that was a good call. one cool thing i would love to suggest buddy, there is this wash for chrome that makes the chrome look like gun metal. that would have been great sometimes on the chrome motors,seen it used by another guy that does alot of those road warrior type cars. but i know your a paint guy, but your stuff is just so freaking awesome, this stuff on some of these would just send your stuff even more into orbit!!!!! Cant wait to see the next one
