I enjoyed, the podcast, was great to get some updates and how you are looking to grow your community. Got lots of videos to catch up on. Even though I live outside of New York now, Sanderstead will always be 'home' and this is such a great link told my old haunts and memories. Hopefully one trip back I can buy you a beer in my old favorite spot, Botley Hill Farm

Great to hear your comments, Dave. Hope you enjoy your video nostalgia trip, I need to do some more in Sanderstead and also Botley Hill area, ironically. I plan to film a country walk not too far from there, tomorrow. I did a short video about Sanderstead Court on Facebook and Instagram the other day, fascinating place that I wish was still around.

@@philswallow I very much look forward to seeing next video. One of the things I loved about Sanderstead was its proximity to the countryside, so many beautiful spots so close by. I remember Sanderstead Court - sadly I'm about the human left not on Facebook!

Really like watching your videos. They provide a link back to the locality where I grew up.
I am saving the Woldingham and South Croydon videos for Christmas when I go down to stay with my Mum - who also enjoys your videos, but doesn't get how CZcams works on her smart TV. I dan share email links for rhe shorter videos for her to watch on her laptop but rhe longer ones are a bit difficult for her to sit at a desk.
If you hit 1000 subscribers before New Year, I'll buy you a pint in the White Lion, Warlingham, to celebrate.
    👏🏻👍🏻💥🍻🍾

Haha, thank you for your comments and I’ll take you up on your offer! I recall you showing your Mum my Sanderstead video when she mentioned Borough Farm - is that right?

@philswallow Blimey, now you are asking. She has watched all the Warlingham videos - we have watched the ones about about Kenley, and most of the back catalogue on the local area surrounding Warlingham when I have been down visiting.
I try to listen to your podcasts if I have time.
One request - the Warlingham - Then and Now Pt 2; if you make another video like this, could you put an approximate date for the then photo?
And what about the Warlingham Tardis ... bigger on the in... no won't go there.

@@chromiumphotography5138 I’ve been asked about the dates and will try but I don’t always have them. I receive scanned images rather than actual postcards/originals - I may be able to provide a rough guess or “circa” but it’s probably best to do all or nothing just for consistency. I’ll see what I can come up with!

@philswallow It is a suggestion rather than anything else. The image with the Carter air raid siren on a pole outside what is now Tesco (was International/Somerfield/Co-op and a few I've probably forgotten in between) got me thinking about dates.
The pole and siren has now vanished - when I was growing g up in the 1970s it was rumoured
to be used when someone escaped from Warlingham Park Hospital. How true this is, I am not sure but is it coincidence that WPH is no longer in existence, ditto the air raid siren.

@@chromiumphotography5138 In my 20+ years of living on the grounds of WPH (pre 1990) the hospital siren was used for fire alarms (mostly false). The patients were free to walk the grounds and could leave via various exits. The dangerous patients stayed in Broadmoor.
