    I think the lamps being changed for LEDs, but leaving the fixtures themselves alone is a satisfyingly tasteful mod. They could've just slapped DMG on there! ;)

    Back in the days, Schindler used Kronenberg fixtures on a lot of their Dutch elevators, before taking over this company. These fixtures could be found on a lot of Dutch elevators which were built back in 70's/80's/00's. Nice video!

    • @tonybaines3332
      @tonybaines3332 Před 5 lety

      it isnt supposed to be obstructed in any way, if the lift goes through the top or bottom its there to knock the power off on all 3 phases, its been tied up because its moving in som kind of way.

    • @tonybaines3332
      @tonybaines3332 Před 5 lety

      its usually brake slide on the top floor with an empty car, depending on how the lugs on the rope have been adjusted, the lift will slide higher because of the counterweight, theres something wrong with the brake, oil or the linings are worn, or its not adjusted right.

    Dutch signs… Is it Belgium or the Netherlands ? The lift is apparently a 70's Schindler with 70's generic Krorenberg fixtures modernised at some point in the 1990's or 2000's

    What are the 4 rod things coming up from the floor?

    • @mrmattandmrchay
      @mrmattandmrchay  Před 5 lety +4

      This is a 2/1 rope system. The ROD things are the start of the ropes >>> to lift car, around a wheel >>> back to motor room >>> around the drive sheave (motor) >>> Down to counterweight >>> around another wheel >>> Back to motor room.
      That's why the lift moves at only half the speed that the drive sheave is moving.

    • @DriftingSofa
      @DriftingSofa Před 5 lety +1

      Oliwer Gumowski probably not but it might be an over run switch

    • @Alexis_du_60
      @Alexis_du_60 Před 5 lety

      Seems like some sort of a switch, I thought for a second it could be a sensor of some sort....

    • @mrmattandmrchay
      @mrmattandmrchay  Před 5 lety +5

      It's an overrun switch. It's a static cable running from top to bottom of the shaft. The lift has a ring that travels along the entire length of it but never moves it. If the lift goes too high or low, then there is a nut which cannot travel through the ring and the cable is pulled in one direction. Inside the box in motor room is a trip switch which shuts down the lift which has to be manually reset.

    • @KBilt92
      @KBilt92 Před 5 lety +3

      The part that rocks back and forth is constantly accelerating and decelerating as the lift moves. There's a part of the switch that rests on the rocker. When the lift passes a certain speed, the rocker accelerates so much that it flings the switch off and trips its contacts.
