I remember that many of these cycled the motor generator set off if the car wasn't move for a set period of time. Late at night or on weekends there was a delay when the car was called so the motor generator set could come to speed.

It a shame some old way's are not learnt as the circuit board lifts go wrong as soon as they are serviced one to two hours later Otis gen 2 and if the power was turned of the memories that held the faults went.

according to another comment this thing is run on a star/delta starter which is taking way too long to switch from star to delta during operation. this is why it runs up to full speed for only around 5 seconds. its around 25 seconds on star and 5 seconds on delta.

Good video. Found a few similar ones in Finland, just as rattly! Keep up the good work, your lift videos are so interesting and detailed. So nice that these old lift machine systems are being documented before they unfortunately disappear.

something I noticed about this that probably also made it abandoned NO TOILETS! In North America, you must have toilets directly accessible to a dining area.

4:41 : does somebody know what is this square wave / resistor symbol means on the schematic ? (as seen across BK / TDL / TA). Usually this symbol is for heating elements. 4:55 : what is that component, a resistor ? a capacitor ? whatever it is, it's a big one :D
