    Thank you so much that’s an excellent insulation I’m going to do the same for my wife’s 1999 VW beetle 2.0

    Damn dude, it seems I just so happen to be looking for aftermarket headlights as well. Everything you are doing I happen to be looking into lmao

    Nice. I have a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle and would like to upgrade both the headlights and the rear lights. How much does it cost and is this for which model?
    Thank you

    Where did you ground your probe/voltage meter with checking the pin?

    Did anyone get these but got the 8pin connector Euro Type with auto adjuster?
    I am looking to make these work for US type.

    I myself would have put a relay between the running lights and the switch..

      Once he turned them on, I was disappointed. I was looking at these on eBay. Now I don't want them.

    The running lights both being fed by that one 10-12 gauge wire probably isn't enough power tbh

      if it was requesting more amps than it could handle I would expect it to just pop a fuse, they are just a couple of LED’s after all. I spoke with one of my friends that’s running a similar set and they told me to redo the grounds. I have yet to do that though

      Fuses blow when there is a short, not an over current draw. Pulling too much current will just heat up the wire until it melts, then the fuse should blow.

    • @illililililillli
      @illililililillli Před 3 lety

      @@hackerpschorr Fuses definitely blow if you pull to much current

    • @hackerpschorr
      @hackerpschorr Před 3 lety

      Yea, I said that wrong. I didn't mean to imply fuses never blow from over current.
      But in a situation like this, you can absolutely draw enough current to melt the sheathing on that wire without blowing a fuse. I've seen it happen hundreds of times over the years working on cars. Melted wires, finding accessories attached that overloaded the harness & never a fuse blown until the melted sheathing allowed a short.

      @hackerpschorr Před 3 lety

      Recent example. Taillight connector and wire harness melted, fuse never blew:

    1st time viewer those wire taps are shit please remove them n solder or find a different wire tap gizmo cuz your going to have a ton of headaches in the future also make sure your wires harness look clean . don't ask me why :)

    • @hackerpschorr
      @hackerpschorr Před 3 lety +1

      Yup, Scotchlok adapters are loved by mechanics since they damage the original wire and can be a real pain to fix properly. Proper crimp connections are preferred and why every wire on every car is assembled that way.

    • @jesse64992
      @jesse64992 Před 2 lety

      Mechanics use them because vibration from the vehicle will crack the solder
