  • The Yamaha TW200 is a very simple bike, that's why people love it. Here's how to check and adjust the valves, a pretty easy procedure that can save you hundreds of dollars compared to taking it into a dealership.

Thanks for the video! I found a deck screw easier to use than a needle nose plier. Deck screws with a square head for drive fit perfectly, and can be twirled by 2 fingers to adjust the tappet screw.

I used to have a deck screw glued into a small dowel that I used for this, it does work well. Thanks for watching.

Nice, now compare it to the process for the Blackbird!

    I think I need a TW. I really wish they had a 300 or at least a 250 option but I still need one😅

Wow! Just found your channel. And you even local. I've got a couple TWs and a TTR225. Ever get into a full rebuild?

The valve lock nut torque spec is 10 foot pounds

There you go. I’d suggest using an inch-pound torque wrench, too easy to over-torque something like that and snap them off. 120 in-lbs.

I never did this at the recommended 600 miles. I'm at 6000 miles now and I have a leak on the exhaust side.

Bummer. It’s not too difficult to do, your story is a good reason to get it done!
