- The Yamaha TW200 is a very simple bike, that's why people love it. Here's how to check and adjust the valves, a pretty easy procedure that can save you hundreds of dollars compared to taking it into a dealership.

Thanks for the video! I found a deck screw easier to use than a needle nose plier. Deck screws with a square head for drive fit perfectly, and can be twirled by 2 fingers to adjust the tappet screw.
I used to have a deck screw glued into a small dowel that I used for this, it does work well. Thanks for watching.
Thanks!
Thank you! Much appreciated!
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures I sent you an email fyi
Just what we have been looking for ! A valve adjustment! Thank you sir!
Yeah, laugh it up when you’re paying for maintenance!
Merch idea. TT&A tee shirts. RTFM incorporated in a Pabst logo.
Ha, my son keeps talking about setting up merch....will push him on that idea. Cheers!
Nice, now compare it to the process for the Blackbird!
The TW wins this round!
I think I need a TW. I really wish they had a 300 or at least a 250 option but I still need one😅
Yeah, a 300 would be great.
Wow! Just found your channel. And you even local. I've got a couple TWs and a TTR225. Ever get into a full rebuild?
Yes, I have been inside both of those engines in the past.
The valve lock nut torque spec is 10 foot pounds
There you go. I’d suggest using an inch-pound torque wrench, too easy to over-torque something like that and snap them off. 120 in-lbs.
I never did this at the recommended 600 miles. I'm at 6000 miles now and I have a leak on the exhaust side.
Bummer. It’s not too difficult to do, your story is a good reason to get it done!
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures Maybe I can hire you? ; ) I mentioned I am in La Mesa/Mt. Helix.
