Please feel free to contact me directly if you need a hand or this isn't the exact answer that you need! This Yamaha TW-200 needed some carburetor work as it would have a hard time starting and idling once started. It also leaked fuel on the ground if I forgot to shut the petcock off, which, of course is always a good idea no matter what. Before fixing the carb issue, once I was able to get it running, it would have no problem staying running but getting it to start back up again was a bear especially if out on the trail. I had to bump start it quite a few times. Once I went through all the troubleshooting steps shown in the video it now runs like a champ (like it should). So very happy about this and it wasn't as hard or complicated as you might think. I just need to make sure to allow myself time to do a thorough job cleaning it out and making sure it all went back together properly. I was initially a little intimidated by the throttle cables and adjusting them but I was dead wrong because it was really easy.

Great video and very helpful. After I got into the carb and cleaned it, T-dub cranked immediately.
Sweet!! Glad this helped.
Those are not philip head screws, they’re JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screws and require a JIS screwdriver. The screw heads will have a dot on them to indicate JIS. Using a Philip’s head screwdriver will only strip the heads, ask me how I know that.
Thanks for passing that along:)
Great video, thanks for the step by step 🤙🏼
Thanks Dom!
If you are lucky sometimes a few blasts of air into the fuel inlet will solve problems.
Thanks for the tip!!
thanks for making this. I think my pilot jet is plugged.
Of course, I’m very happy this helped. Good luck to you.
@@DIYTechnician Got it working again! Thanks!
Got some strawberries and cream moonshine Cheer's
Mmmmm nice! Cheers 🍻!!
Will carb cleaner damage the plastic floats as well as the rubber tip on the pin that is attached to the floats?
Good question. Based on personal past experience it doesn’t do any major damage that I’ve experienced but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some level of degradation due to too much exposure
Could spraying carb cleaner up the drain tube do anything productive?
My gut feeling is no but it’s always worth a try.
I just bought a bike with 60miles 2022 and it won’t run when choke is all the way in. Will this fix it or is there a solution?
I’d say this COULD fix it. If it runs choked but quits when choke is pushed in, likely a carb problem. I’d try everything g else first before tearing into it. Has it sat for a long time? Is the gas fresh?
I always like to exhaust all non invasive efforts first before I start taking things apart. If nothing else works, given it does start and stay running when choked, cojld be a float issue. Hard to diagnose this stuff from a distance without the full picture and all the facts. Check the forums too if you havn’t already
Is there fing construction going on behind you?
Haha yeah. Sorry not optimal audio conditions for some of it. Sometimes I just have to get after it!
Quiet you. That’s man stuff going on there. 😂
