  • The 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen is now drinking for two with a 799cc Parallel Twin plucked out of its orange sibling and nestled under the Svart’s stylish duds. Does a Parallel Twin change the vibe of the ’Pilen’s original Thumper? Undoubtedly.

A few of us guys from Minnesota raced Pikes Peak back in the January 1 st mass start races. 78/79/80. My last bike raced there Husqvarna Malcom Smith Replica 250cc. Soft spot for the old Swedish models. This one looks fun street wise.

Can't argue with the price to performance of that bike, but Yamaha needs to fire their design team... WTF. Dogshit ugly bike, and it's not the only one from them.

I owned the 701 Vitpilen and Svartpilen. Both had more character in my opinion and both were still reduced in price and struggled to sell. Despite being good bikes. I think this one struggles more at £10,495 in the U.K. I think it will be sub £8995 very quickly.

The Vitpillen 801 needs to have a modenised cafe fairing to go with the low bars.

You guys must have been going so hard from all the hints you kept dropping on pace, great group of guys, champion rider leading the group, leaning to the max, probably super duper fun. 140/150mm is a decent amount of suspension travel for a sort of scrambler thing, cool bike.

Reminds me of my old R1150R but on a modern platform and seat height. I loved daily riding that bike, top case, narrow for filtering, fire road capable, a Swiss Army knife.
I’m sure this rides great! Discuss the warranty with the dealer if you have concerns.

No MSRP info or where it was built (China?). I suppose it should be around the same price, give or take a few hundred, as the Chinese 790 Duke, which is quite affordable for a KTM. Why would someone opt for this over the 790 Duke? Because the simpler suspension is less complicated and a more upright riding position with wider bars and a more slack front fork?

sad that it is a one person only bike, look at that tiny pad for a passengers butt, and then look at the exhaust pipe, burning hot right next to the rear seat! who would expect a passenger to sit there? HORRIBLE, plus the hot exhaust means it would not even be safe to bungee a jacket or ? the the rear. Nothing a major restyle could not fix, and please dump the lumpy tank,

Dude did such a terrible job selling this bike. You could tell he was trying to be nice, but that there was nothing special about the 801. Bummer, too. It's not just him that would sway me, it's the fact that all of those ride shots looked so boring. It could have been a 696 or Yamaha with the way the way they were just meandering around...bored. I almost feel bad watching this video like he was forced to try to defend what is undoubtedly an overpriced, boring bike.

If Ikea designed and sold bikes this would be it - no style or soul. Manufacturer's need to turn back to historic styling cues. These things all look a lot like my toaster and coffee machine. Some exceptions of course, e.g. Triumph's Thruxton RS with the dolphin fairing and some of the Moto Guzzi line.
