  • China has vowed to end extreme poverty by the end of 2020. Across rural China, several hundreds of billions of yuan are being spent and millions of officials have been mobilized in a massive poverty alleviation campaign. But how to ensure that all help reaches those in need? That's the mission entrusted to third-party evaluation teams. The investigators from the Southwest University in China's southwestern Chongqing Municipality are conducting a household survey in one of the poorest regions in Sichuan Province, southwest China. #China #PovertyAlleviation

My uncle is one of them, leader of two villages, to lead poor people out of poverty. Today he told me only about 10 people are still poor, because they donot have labor to do some job. So the government pays these families per 120 yuan per person monthly. They should not pay any cost for their medicine and education of their children. If you are poor not because of lazy, they will get support from government. Great job, china.

I wish the US would cut out the arrogance and hypocrisy and chose to both share and LEARN from the unprecedented progress, programs, pollution alleviation techniques, green technology, high speed rail and other incredible infrastructure projects in China! Unfortunately, right NOW, neither our Govt nor the Industries its funding-OVER public welfare, (the US Constantly complains about “socialism”; yet we have RAMPANT Corporate socialism and “redistribution of wealth” from our dwindling middle class to the wealthiest. As long as we have this corrupt system; I fear we will continue to decline. We have college graduates homeless, homeless veterans living under bridges, farmers going bankrupt every month as a result of the ridiculous racism, concentration camps on our southern border, and needless tariffs. This administration is destroying our environment, repealing environmental protection laws that have been in place for 40 years, we have cities and towns with undrinkable, unusable water, and they have decided to move hundreds of scientists across the country, to offices that don’t even exist, abandoning their labs, equipment and work they have been doing for YEARS-all because Trump doesn’t like hearing bad news or that he’s wrong. Healthcare is an absolute nightmare with a record amount of families once again declaring bankruptcy because of insurance denial of payment or catastrophic illness or injury the family can’t afford. People are driving to Canada or Mexico for treatments or medication. Community healthcare centers which WERE funded by the ACA, lost their funding last year, just as over 80% of our NEEDED medical research that had been receiving federal funds for over 60 years-including my friends and former colleagues at Johns Hopkins, the CDC and NIH. MANY have lost their jobs.
But hey, Trump says “our” economy “has never been this good!”,🙄😡 (“our”=Trump and his ultra-wealthy friend’s whose wealth has multiplied exponentially since 2008, and especially his record tax cuts benefitting almost solely the wealthiest and corporations). Also, “Climate change is a Chinese hoax” 🙄😡
I HOPE that China continues its rise, takes the well-deserved place of Number 1 SuperPower. It’s past time MY country learned a lesson in humility. I just hope and pray the powers that be don’t cause any problems... anti-China propaganda is worse than I’ve ever seen...and THAT scares me. 😔
❤️🇨🇳☮️. Peace & Love to my wonderful friends in China! I think I’ll go put my new T-Shirt on before running an errand...it says “I Love China; Get Over It!” Maybe I can spark a conversation or two...😁

America is now living on past glory.....the people has been subjected to propaganda
that America is still the riches and most powerful country in the world...the people have been living in their comfort zones and addicted to living on credit fer too long...imagine perpetually paying interest loans for the rest of their lives ....China is now going cashless and the Gov discourage and make it difficult for the population to acquire
credit cards and a 80% of the population has at least US500,00 in their savings
in case of emergency whereas the US has less than 30% of the population having no savings at all living day to day . The recent pandemic virus bare all the ugliness and how serious the situation is now where they are forced to break the social distancing
rules to make a living in spite of the US Gov giving them a 1200.00 dollars to tide over for ten weeks. You do not hear news that the Chinese people complain about the lockdown and they have no work or do not have money to eat because the people are prudent / responsible and discipline .. I feel sad for America because the Gov has been spending at least 18 trillions dollars on unnecessary wars since WW2 and what will America be today if they were to spend it on the dilapidated infrastructures and railways and other renewable energy sources to help improve the people's lives.

Because let us be honest, there are crooks mixed among the good crown. It exists even in our own respective countries. Corruption exists in many forms and in any government.

This is so hillarious. What happen to the old style officials of counting livestock, produce tree, grain land hectarage, planted percentage, how many members of the family are migrant workers, how many durables they have. Quality of their homes. What's the harvest like. Do they have small business at local village bazaar. 😂
Most important, how well fed are they? 😂

@Kong Thai. I am sure they ask those questions too but are not shown in the video. The investigators are intellectuals with high education. They are more critical and thorough.
Chinese government have to start somewhere. Once they get their goal eventually their criteria will go up as years follow. They are taking it one step at a time by focusing on basic needs for survival: food, clothing, housing, healthcare, and education.
Chinese people, when they experience a better life will strive for further development. As they say, step by step, slow but forward.

@@poseidon61 social security insurance, social welfare grants, private retirement annuity system, pension of retire state employee..
Social workers, political representative identifying the needy household.
It is simple. 0.2% people are generally incapable, 15% above age 60 years, and 4% to 6% unemployed. About 20% or 1.5 million households are managed.
Generally no destitution except for insane, or preference. Shockingly, begging can earn more than the $750 to $2,000 a month in Social Security net. Many of the Seniors has property, cash, bonds, shares, land.
You cannot believe everything politicians and social activist as these group uses pity to gain grants, donation or programs.

@@kongthai.. I do not base my beliefs from what politician says. I only belief what I see and experience.
I have seen first hand the changes their country has made. My extended family has benefitted from their programs.
Thus, i have reservations when people brushes off their effort as propoganda and thinks they are doing better.
