    This was the process a lot of us used back when rc crawlers first came about. Custom links and locked Traxxas Stampede transmissions and TLT axles.

    At first i thought you were crazy because you were using hollow tubes for links but this actually turned out pretty well. Nice job.

    I love the tools I inherited the most!
    Another great video.
    I love how your the only guy making adapter mounts for the hardbodies to fit all chasis...
    I need a set myself for 4 runner to scx10 chasis.
    I also need dash lift piece for k5 blazer.

      @shrinkrc Question for you, can you mount a rc4wd hardbody 4runner onto a tf2 midnight edition chassis? If so, do I have to modify anything? Thanks!

    Do you ever do anything or have you to redcat everest 10 crawlers
    I see this as useful information to have and it looks good

    • @shrinkrc
      @shrinkrc  Před rokem

      The only Redcat I have messed with is the Gen8. It fits with the RC4WD Mojave 4 door, and the RC4WD XtraCab pretty good. I think they fit Gen8 V2 as well. The body mounts are here: shrinkrc.com/products/shrinkrc-body-mounts-for-rc4wd-1985-toyota-xtra-cab?variant=41097542566076

    I’ve got a TRX4 Sport High Trail that I’m gonna do this conversion to. I think it will be cool to have a lifted Blazer. I wanted to ask, did you have to relocate the rear shock mounts? I’m lovin your videos. I’ve already ordered a couple sets of your mounts to convert my Fordyce trucks over Yota hard bodies.

    • @shrinkrc
      @shrinkrc  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, you'll need to drill a new hole in the frame to move the rear towers forward. I think I put the back hole of the shock tower on the last hole, then added a new hole for the front hole of the shock tower.

    • @shrinkrc
      @shrinkrc  Před 3 měsíci

      And then I think I flipped the towers left to right, but I don't remember for sure, its got my K10 conversion body on it now.

  • @toeshifter
    @toeshifter Před rokem +1

    This might be a silly question. Would your body mounts for the SCX10.2 work the same on a SCX10.3 ?

    • @shrinkrc
      @shrinkrc  Před rokem +1

      They will not. I don’t offer mounts for 10.3 because both stock transmission options are huge, and make fitting an interior difficult.

  • @tobogan2701
    @tobogan2701 Před 7 měsíci +1

    Won’t this change the angle of the shocks? Can you leave the shock mounts in the stock spot? Or do you need to drill new holes?

    • @shrinkrc
      @shrinkrc  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Yes, you need to move the shock towers forward (and shorten the rear driveshaft). If I recall correctly, I was able to use 2 of the existing holes (for the back of the shock tower), and drilled 2 new ones for the front of the shock tower. I might have swapped the shock towers left to right as well. Just mess around with it until its right.

    Did you have to relocate the shock towers also?

    • @shrinkrc
      @shrinkrc  Před rokem +1

      Yes, I probably should have mentioned that🤣. I drilled some new holes in the frame, using a 1/8 drill bit. This chassis is already back under the K10, but if I recall correctly I only drilled holes at the front of the shock tower and reused existing holes at the back of the shock tower. Also shortened the drive shaft of course.
