In the United States you're not expected to give up your cultural heritage. You incorporate that into your American experience. The problem is that white supremacists hate seeing new cultures added to the American fabric.

No it's expected to give up your cultural heritage in united states. That is concept of the melting pot. It is Canada that you not expected to give up your cultural heritage because its multicultural. New cultures are not added to the American Fabric instead are polarizing the usa pushing it closer to a civil war. So new cultures are ripping the American fabric apart causing division. The biggest problem is people come the usa because they come poor countries and usa is rich. It is not because they like america's culture and values.

I feel the racism in Canada is focused more on us Natives... the Treaties have had a big affect on it because of what they did to us in the beginning and what we are now doing today....

Thank you for sharing your perspective. Canada certainly has much work to do in the way Indigenous have and continue to be treated.

Gary Martin how can you ask such a question. Do you really not know what is and has been going on? After all it is still happening now. the indigenous children were ripped from their family's , beaten, sexually abused, murdered, ect..up until the 70's, yes still in our generation, Many are still alive today suffering from their experiences. No I didn't do it normal did you but our Government of Canada is responsible. And yes many Canadians treat them as if they are less then. I've heard many people make assumptions that indigenous people are lazy and drunks, which is very racist. I can tell you they are no different than any other race. I would have to say because the crappie they endured happened in our generation and has just been recognized, they have much further to go then others. Not trying to take away from other cultures cause over all this world has a long way to go before we see love, peace, and equality for all. I wonder how different this world would be if we were color blind.

In Canada it is more directed at the First Nations mainly by Inuits, Metis, And Europeans while in the USA the Amerindian population is not as big so it is mainly directed at African Americans mostly by Europeans, Hispanics, And Far Easterners yeah

I'm a Canadian in an interracial marriage for over 30 years now. :) The amount of stink eye and rudeness we get is orders of magnitude worse in the USA. I just looked up the data, and in one study Canada was ranked as the second least racist country in the world. The USA is ranked among the 10 worst countries in the world.

there's no more exception here in canada... there is a need to have an indigenous or native person perspective here..

No. there never was exception, but tolerance. That tolerance is at its tipping point, because of the government in power. There is no need for a native perspective, only Canadian. Hopefully you've heard this before... " We’re all in this canoe together now. We can paddle it into the future together or we can capsize it and drown together.”. ✌❤

The ONLY difference is the form it comes in. Canada is very much discrete and its systemic. The States racism is more directly conveyed and violent. That's It

Canadians don’t understand the idea of the melting pot And get it drastically wrong. When we refer to the United States as a melting pot we view it as a soup or a stew where it is the best aspects of everyone who comes here put together rather than most Canadians believe it to be like that of a smelter removing the impurities and hammering it into one uniform shape which is not the case
