So many of these broken, perhaps someone can donate you a display. Try lowering the resistance just to see. Check the power available to display, not just voltage, remove display again and find a suitable load to replace it with, perhaps a bad cap or something else is robbing available power but then i expect the voltage would drop lower. Must be the display. Damn.

i have to admit that positive and negative voltages connected confuse my brain lol.
I have the same problem with radios that have a positive earth... what!! err lol.
i do get confused with silly stuff.
Im crap at maths so confusion makes me want to run away lol.
Later on i can make sense finally lol.

The cd direct Button shuts down the display for a "pure" signal

Help, please. I have bought an older Velodyne DD12 and it does not respond to any button I press on the remote control. The remote apparently works because the red led lights up and the infrared sensor blinks when checked with a phone camera. The subwoofer works when connected to a receiver but I can't change any equalization settings or else. What could be the problem and how can I solve it?

Yes, the repair shop has found that the problem is on the dsp board. Either they fix the chip or order another board from Velodyne. and that board is EXPENSIVE AF@@izzzzzz6
