Very well done walk-through. As a beginner, just what I needed for a taste of what DaVinci Resolve and my drone footage can offer, and got a lot of tips about the controls. Felt like I was wandering in the wilderness before. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video. Exactly what was needed. I did not have the LUT from DJI that was correct before, once I got the correct one for my Pocket Osmo 3, it looks beautiful. I was about to give up entirely on color correction, and you saved me! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! - Osmo Pocket 3 is really good I will make soon tutorial for Pocket 3
This was an excellent tutorial, thank you for taking the time to make it and post it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow!! Amazing tutorial! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks a lot for the clear explanations!
You are welcome!
Very good video - nice change from all 15 seconds tutorials that just skim through the functions.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video.Thank you very much.
Thanks :)
Hello, can you use the ability to export DJI Mini 4 Pro D Log-M to HDR in DaVinci Resolve? If you use DJI Mini 4 Pro D Log-M to shoot, the color restoration becomes the Rec.709 color gamut, which means that when grading in DaVinci Resolve, it is impossible to create HDR video? Because the color gamut required by HDR is Rec.2020
Useful information. I realize English probably is not your mother tongue, but a script would help. This contennt would make an excellent 22 minute video.
Hi . Thanks, and yes, english is not my mother language, but I trying my best :)
Man... u should get more subs, ur explanation is very detail yet useful, new subs here
Thanks for the sub!
Great video :-)
Thanks!
Thanks for the Video!! question, what do you use for the older DJI Mini 2? I have some older footage I cant seem to color grade. please help :)
Hi, Just skip part with LUT and you can use same process as in tutorial but with small correction all depends how was recorder video and what exactly you want to correct in video.
I need some help with this tutorial.
I shot in d-log m, applied the lut however my video on playback has the colors shifting all over like half the screen turns orange then turns green etc. I don't know how to resolve this and no one else seems to have this issue.
Hi, sorry I can't help. I never experienced anything like this. Maybe the problem is in free version because free version doesn't support 10bits video, but for some reason after one update from DJI there start working on free version. Maybe solution is to use Studio version.
I don't understand how to even move my dji files over to Davinchi any info would be appreciated.
Hi, I made Video "How to start Drone Video Editing in Davinci Resolve Beginners Guide Tutorial" - czcams.com/video/K1F4c7NBE18/video.htmlsi=C0bgZMdIirYSGLUA
how do you film for D-log? like should we be over exposing like you would in s-log?
Hi, when I filming i usually slightly overexpose to around +0.3. Same for S-Log from Sony Camera and D-Log from DJI.
What do you set your master color management settings to?
I keep them as default settings.
In your project settings, what are you using in the Color Space & Transforms box? This is where I am confused. Thank you!
If you asking for Color Space Transform, Watch from 0:45 to 2:35, In this case I not using Color Space Transform I just explain why I not using Color Space transform because usually you starting Log (S-Log,D-Log etc.) footage color grade from Color Space Transform but for D-Log M there is no correct setting in this Color Space Transform only for normal D-Log but not for D-Log M and you have to use LUT from DJI website instead Color Space Transform.
@@BuryTechWorld Thank you, I do understand this, however in project settings, under color management, the first box is Color Space Transform with 3 settings. Mine are set at Color Science - Davinci YRGB, Timeline color space - Rec.709(scene) and Output color space - Same as Timeline. Thank you for your help in understanding this project setting, not a node color space transform. :)
@@smbishop63 Hi, sorry I was thinking you ask for Color Space Transform, in project setting i using as default same as you have, that's why we using this last node to change setting when you apply LUT or Color Space Transform is exactly same as you change in project setting, difference is only when you change setting in project setting you change this to all video at once but in this case you Using LUT not Color Space Transform and best setting will be default settings but when I not using LUTs I still preferer to use Color Space Transform Node in Color Page, especially when I working on footage from different cameras in same project and I don't change any setting in Project Settings - Color Management .
@@BuryTechWorld Thank you so much, now I understand!
Very good explanations, extremely clear even for a not native speaker.
But I have big problem with my mini pro 4 videos in D-LogM. If I load it in DaVinci Resolve there appear strong color faults, nut always, but from time to time, even without any color grading. My the reason be that I use the free version of DaVinci? Would there no be problems of color falsification with the studio version?
I would be very grateful for help because I couldnot use D-Log M so far.
Fritz from Germany
Hi, Thank You. I not sure about your problem I never experienced anything like this. I using Studio version and the main reason was because of 10bits video support. Free version is not supporting 10 bits and D-Log M is 10 bits, but for some reason with one of DJI updates, they start working on Davinci Resolve free version. Maybe studio version will help ?
Thank you so much for your answer. It helped me. I will buy the Studio version.
@@fritz4463 I have the same experience with color errors. I also use the free version of Davinci Resolve. Are you currently using the Studio version? And has that the problem solved?
Dji replaced the drone under warranty but it didn't change anything. There are now more and more CZcams videos saying that only the studio version supports 10 bit color depth. I will therefore buy them in a few weeks.@@cortervoort8214
I will try to check on weekend on my second laptop with Davinci Resolve Free Version, I got some color correction to do and I will use free version and let you know if i got any of this problems.
Not bad video and I wish you the best with your channel. Keep your videos shorter, maybe 15-20 minutes max.
Thank You - I made this little longer because I made this for Beginners with Davinci Resolve and Color Grading, but next Tutorials I will keep shorter.
@@BuryTechWorldI actually appreciate this in-depth beginners video. It's been a few years since I did any video editing and it was mostly learned in Premiere, so I'm starting over fresh in DaVinci and videos like this are perfect for people like me. Thanks!
Is this DR studio or free version?
it is Studio version but all this you can do in free version and now is beta version Davinci Resolve 19 what is much better now with free version
@@BuryTechWorld Didn't think you could edit 10bit D-Log M video in the free version?
Yes, and your right free version is not supporting 10-bits , but a 10-bit videos from DJI drones are somehow working in a free version, I try 10-bits from my Sony camera and they not working on free version but from DJI drones are working included Pocket 3.
