For those who may be confused as to why this is not a good question to ask: inquiring if she’s on birth control insinuates that you’re planning on having sex with her. And that you’re only asking to see if you can get away with not using a condom. Which is a big yikes to women. She was probably thinking that he was only going on a date with her so that he could get in her pants afterwards and that’s all that he was looking forward to, and so she panicked and called it off.
Wow, it’s important to speak about birth control before one has sexual relations with another. However, this should not come up on the first date and it damn sure should not come up before the first date ever happens.
"Don't take no for an answer" is easily the most toxic pick-up artist lesson they teach. Sorry but once a potential date has said no, that's final. This isn't a fucking Hallmark movie where you can keep pushing and eventually win them over, that shit comes off rapey and murdery far far sooner before it comes off charming and cute.
To be fair, I was definitely going down that path of toxicity by trying to win people over and it definitely wasn't as romantic as I thought it was, it was creepy and abusive. I'm so glad that I realized that now and I changed. No definitely means no, not "try harder".
I disagree my parants got married after my mom said no multiple times, but my dad kept pushing to finally win a date, and actually meet her properly. They are now happily married for 15 years already, so being persistent is good sometimes.

It's possible that this is narcissism at work. One of their signature traits is not being able to handle rejection because it leaves them feeling powerless. A lot of these types of people were traumatized as children and felt powerless at the hands of their abuser(s), so anything that makes them feel that way in the present (rejection, being ignored, losing) can trigger an episode of rage.
Can you really call it "maidenless behavior" if he's basically the antimaiden? (But for real though, 100% going to end up ether kidnapping someone, being the abuser in a abusive relationship, or dies alone. Take bets boys)
I'm glad that Charlie went on that slight rant about the importance of no. It's a shame that some people actually have to be told to take no for an answer instead of just accepting and moving on before it makes things worse.
Yeah honestly it's not that unreasonable to just respond with "aight fair" after somebody cancels something or tells you no. Seems like a pretty common courtesy
They take no as a personal attack. Some people won't like you and that's okay. You will do something silly and it will be a deal breaker for them and that's fine. We are all different and we all like different things. These guys should treat women how they treat men/masculine people. With respect.
I know, a decent amount of people are okay with having sex with someone they just met, but not everyone is, & he just assumes she’s going to. He probably would of held an even bigger grudge on someone who didn’t get the warning, goes on the date, & doesn’t want to have sex with him.

If he just accepted the rejection then it would have been fine in my book. Joke or no joke. Wouldn't really shame someone for asking questions or trying to establish how they would like things to go, the problem happens when they try to force things to go that route. If he was like ''Hey I wanna bang are you on birth control?'' and after the rejection he was like ''Okay, gooday'' then I wouldn't really say it would be bad.
