Sunday is a very special day in Mizoram as it dedicated to going to Church. Christianity is huge part of people's life in Mizoram and the entire state in in-operational on Sundays especially before 3pm as they would be service during that time. This is something unique and in this video I take you with me as we spent a Sunday in Aizawl, just like the locals.
In this video we also experience a little bit of Mizo hospitality, I must say Mizo people are very very welcoming and sweet.
This video is part of my Mizoram series which is produced, directed and edited by me (Swathi Hariharan), cinematography by Akshay and thanks to Surita for guiding us through Mizoram. Special Thanks to Feli and Solomon for showing us a bit of their city.
Tourism in Mizoram is highly underdeveloped and one can say it is unexplored. I am making this video with hope that after watching this some of you might want to visit Mizoram and experience the amazing hospitality and unique culture of Mizoram. T

In christianity, We are not allowed to work on Sunday so all the shops and activities are halted for a day. Moreover, On sunday we are occupied with services and choir practice so.... Enjoyed your video & 's.

Whether Christians or not...here in north America, Sunday work is allowed.
Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday is the seventh day.

I'm surprised to hear you pronounce Aizawl correctly. Most visitors (non-mizo) usually pronounce it as Aijol/Aijual. Little things like these captures the viewers eyes and years. Keep up the great work

Meaning, Mizoram is mountaineous and in the coming time it'll leveled. Better them not to stay there forever.
