Looks good. Mezzanine floors are enjoyable to do. You say the strap guns are over 500 pounds. The Paslode probably is. I have three. A Bostitch. A Senco. And another impact version for hard wood. They are just air ones. But boy is it quick. And less hassle. The Bostitch Strapshot is only about 250 pounds. I looked it up. Two of us with a gun each can rattle on hundreds. And never hit your fingers.

Hi Kevin🖐I'll be back in 2024, but the videos wont be as frequent, purely because CZcams seems to be turning its back on long form videos in favour of #shorts😬 I think CZcams as we all know it will soon cease to exist, as its all about short clip type content now😢Have a nice Christmas break👍

A lovely inside job for this time of the year, just curious as to why the stud wall went up at 600 centres when the joists were going in at 400 centres. Maybe the stud wall at 400 centres also or at least have doubled the head up with the 600 centres.
Lovely inside job to hide out the wind and rain del. I heard you mention about ppn gun I get it the paslose is silly money same for the gas n nails. class vid del. its weird how some stuff we do can be so fast yet look like loads of work has been done and other times when say kitchen fitting takes ages to get stuff right and it seems to take twice as long.
Fantastic job Del, amazing how well the space can be utilised now. Looking at the stairwell trimmer joists, I was wondering how you work out the load rating for the double joists picking them up? As the floor load from the 6 intermediate joists will load them mid span. Is this something you can judge from your experience or do you do some calculations in this situation? Thanks Del, Merry Christmas mate :)
Hi there🖐Whilst all of the floor element were checked by the Structural Engineer, the stair well opening and the use of double timbers is such a typical detail, that we know it will be strong enough. If the spans were larger, then we would specifically check with the engineer if tripples or larger timbers were needed👍Thanks for your comment bud and for watching 😎 Happy Christmas to you too🥳
Hiya, love the video as always. Learnt a lot from you channel. What area of the uk do you work around and would you consider a timber door frame (exterior) repair?
Outstanding as always T.C, did you ever consider a Bostich Strapshot nailer? Considering the fact that like me you have a compressor it would make sense. I have two of them, one of them is brand new and for sale if your interested, 👍💪🔨🇮🇪
Hi TN🖐I think the main reason I haven't invested in a PPN gun, is that the builders I work for are too tight to pay the extra for the nails😬which makes no sense, as it costs them more in my labour nailing them up😵💫Cheers bud
@@thetallcarpenter I know what you mean T.C. I rarely work for builders and price nearly all of my own work. As a result I just add on the cost of fixings, hardware and adhesives to my price. I was extending my W/S last Year and I had maybe thirty joist hangers to install so I splashed out on Bostitch Strapshot from a company in Munich on ebay. It supposedly got lost in the post according to the post office. I was refunded and ordered another one from Berlin. It arrived and then two weeks later the one I had originally ordered turned up. So now I have two of them for the price of one, 😁😁

Hi mate, got a similar job, some studwork andceiling joists in an industrial unit, would tou say the best bet is to build the ceiling first and build the stud work up to the ceiling as you would in a house or would you build the stud wall first? As I normally stick build my stud walls is it better to build it up on the floor and pack it level incase the floor is running out? Great video BTW
Hi Nathan🖐If the floor joists span without needing the wall for support, then yes, I would joist it out first and the put the studwork in afterwards👍I only build a wall on the floor and stand it up if the floor and joists are the same distance apart along the walls length😎Cheers Del
Yeah that makes sense, I prefer stick building which is why I would like the ceiling joists in first, only 2.3metre wide with block work either side. Thankyou
Nice video and workmanship . What benefit do u think u get by glueing the joints on the chipboard ? Do u think just screwing would suffice in this situation?
@@leehalling8635 Probably not Lee, and mostly because units like these can get changed when new tenants come in, so it means that materials can be re-used👍
