  • Ian reviews the Skindog Thunderbolt Peacemaker Surfboard: www.boardshop.co.uk/surfboard...
    The Skindog Peacemaker surfboard came about when Ben got together with longboarder, shaper and fellow board geek, CJ Nelson who was also keen to design and shape a board with the ability to surf in a traditional style but could also turn on a dime when the tail was buried.
    The Peacemaker perfectly bridges the gap between traditional longboarding and the modern high-performance style Ben is known for. Slip the Peacemaker under your arm and it feels like a tradtional longboard with a 50/50 rail but this rail blends from a high apex in the nose and completley transitions seamlessly into a low and hard shortboard style performance rail at the tail. Ben is super proud of the Peacemaker, particularly the way it flows and rolls with no 'clunky' hicups when moving between classic longboard and radical shortboard style manuevres.
    The Peacemaker is the board Ben is most proud of, a culmination of 10 years work resulting in a board which levatates like nothing he's ever experienced before. This is the board which ignores all the previous restrictions about what you 'could' and 'couldn't' do in longboard shaping...you can ride the Peacemaker anyway you choose, nose ride or hack some turns from the tail.
    The Peacemaker is constructed using 'Thunderbolt Red' technology, a 100% hand layup Fibreglass Lamination which delivers a competition weight and flex surfboard. 'Thunderbolt Red' uses a Fused Cell EPS Foam Blank which incorporates a Carbon Fibre Multi-Component Flex Control System which replaces a traditional wooden stringer which along with the Fibreglass lamination delivers a familiar flex which will remain for the extended lifespan of these durable boards. Thunderbolt Red uses a 6oz + 4oz Fibreglass deck lamination with 6oz + 2oz Fibreglass on the bottom. The Fused Cell EPS Foam Blank is wrapped in a Core Shield PVC Shell which affords flexible protection to the EPS core.
    Forget the lifeless and corky EPS boards you might of heard about or even owned; these boards couldn't be further from the mass produced characterless Epoxy surfboards 'banged out' in the far east. These boards are 100% hand layups and finished to the very highest standard, and it's worth remembering that the board you buy from us is exactly the same as Skindog is riding!
    All the guys here at Boardshop are stoked to be working with Ben and Skindog Surfboards and are completely sold on Thunderbolt Technology. We'll happily consider taking your old or unwanted surfboard as a trade-in against a new Skindog model, so If you have any questions about this we'd be delighted to answer them and advise on any potential board choices or enquiries you might have, just drop us an email to info@boardshop.co.uk or call us on 0044 (0) 1243 674250

    Can't wait to surf my 9'6 Peacemaker on the Great Lakes! I've probably watched this video about 50+ times now just to see the board and imagine it under my feet. Thank you for making this video!

    Nice! How does the 9'1 Peacemaker compare to something like the Harley HiHp or Hi4?

      @ReedMJones Před 2 lety

      My guess is more like HI4 and Smoothie more like HIHP. What did you decide?

    What fins are recommended for the 2+1?

    • @BoardshopUK
      @BoardshopUK  Před 7 měsíci

      It all depends on how you want to surf the board, more performance based or cruisy with more hold. This helps make the decision for the 2+1 , if you're a little stuck, drop us an email at info@boardshop.co.uk and we can go from there!
