Hello! I'm Anthony. An independent artist and illustrator based near Paris in France. Watercolor painting was my first passion. So a few years ago I took out my old paints, and rekindled my love for watercolors. I decided to start charting some of my watercolor experiences in the form of my blog, “WatercolorAffair.com” (and now through my CZcams channel). My objective was to start sharing some of my hard won knowledge in the hope that it will help and inspire others to paint with watercolors!
    Thank you for following !

Loved this bright fun tutorial! Just have my little sprinkles to do. While I forgot to blend out my shadow on large shadow edges, I was very happy with this. Loved the deep shadow colors. Really encourages me to go deeper with them. Like the sprinkle technique too. Love the Paynes Grey for shadow too. Thanks,

Hi Anthony - Thanks for being such a good teacher. I loved this donut tutorial, and I incorporated it into one of my sketchbook images of a festival I went to. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this fantastic tutorial. As a beginer, I’ve been having trouble giving my subjects dimension. Your guidance and concise explanations, as well as the use of multiple techniques, helped me get à better understanding on how to achieve good results ❤

Thanks Anthony! I need some fairly simple things to do. I haven’t been able to paint for a couple of months, and I’m having trouble getting going again.

I only had a little time before I had to get my kids from school so I did the drawing and masking (5"x7") and it was ready when I got back. Masking out those little sprinkles was tedious for me and I think I might use gouache if I did it again (although watercolor is always always always my preference) Gave it a try and it was super fun . I usually paint loose scapes and this was a nice break from my typical subjects and style. Anthony , you are a wonderful teacher. Any beginners, I suggest giving it a try. If drawing the wrapper is intimidating , leave it off. Wet in wet is a forgiving technique. If the paint begins to dry up on you before you're done, let it dry completely and come back and rewet and try again. You can always soften edges, blend and lift after its dried 😊

I am looking forward to following your tutorial. This will be my first time using masking fluid. I am ordering a bottle of the Pebeo, but could you please tell me what tool you are using to apply the fluid? It looks easier to use than a brush. Thank you!

I use a bamboo quill pen - they're easy to clean when they get clogged up with dry masking fluid...

Looks yummy 😋 Unfortunately I can’t use masking fluid cause it gives me migraine🙁
BTW, I am enjoying your “Watercolor Masterclass”😊

Hi Wendy - If you can find it try the brand "Schmincke". They make a version of masking fluid without ammonia, which is what makes this stuff smell so strong. Also I find the Pebeo gum is milder than some other brands, but it still smells of ammonia... I'll add a link to the description above. Have fun!
