Does anyone remember those Ocean Spray commercials with the grandad and grandson standing in the water with cranberries?
I do!
nnyyeess
No I remember LeBron James bursting through my door asking for a SPRITE cranberry in the middle of the night
Ya😃
Literally why I just looked this up 🤣 I realized I had no idea how cranberries were grown and harvested
This was oddly enjoyable.
The Gorey Details a
The Gorey Details it is
The Gorey Details lol i know
The Gorey Details yes yes it was
The Gorey Details this video was so good.
This is probably the one time that CZcams recommended something to me that wasn't dark or depressing.
Boa De Cocoa you’re on a sad side of yt
What about that lad who ate so many Cranberrys,he went mad?
A cautionary tale.
Their a positive in everything😇
You look like a man
@@stevengreen9725 I mean I do have a father sooooo🤣 BE GONE INCEL! Back to the caves from wince you came!
Can’t wait for the “MARIJUANA how does it grow?” Episode
@Wikkitt Klown some need it for medicinal use so it's not a bad drug.
@Wikkitt Klown its used to help cancer (at least its one of the drugs i dont remember)
@Kelcy North no allergy pills or ibeprophen for you then
Kelcy North so if you snapped your arm and your doctor was going to give you pain killers to take the pain away you would rather suffer for months instead of do a drug? Same thing with marjuana. Except it’s not addictive ;)
@Kelcy North I guess i dont need my ibubrophine then... sigh guess i wont breath
The Ocean Spray commercials all make sense now...I always wondered why they have cranberries floating on water o.o
Right?! Me too!
CiCi Wu same
CiCi Wu ....lol right because I used to wonder why the hell they were raking up cranberries out of water 😂😂😂😂 Saddest part is I live in jersey and didn't even know about this 😣😣😣
Same
CiCi Wu .
I am doing a school project and this saved me! I couldn't find anything telling me the steps of how they are grown directly! This video was both educational and kind of relaxing too! Thank you so much!
I'm so glad I could help! Come back soon for more! ;)
So hows your school going, did you become a cranberry farmer? 🤭
What’s the project for?
How was your school project 6 years ago?
Wait.....you can't just skip over "they hire bees to pollinate"
I need a video on hired bees
Then you'll need one on almond farmers, and then on imported illegal honey, and then on...the never ending rabbit 🐇 hole
@@reginagracecaeli5480 Why are you here an month ago?
@@johncarley2434 time travel has glitches.
@Regina Grace Caeli he has a valid question about "hired bees to pollinate". Just recently i read about genetically modified mosquitoes" check this cnn article. amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/04/30/health/genetically-modified-mosquitoes-us-scn-wellness/index.html I dont get why humans can't stop meddling with nature. cough covid 19 cough
Never did occur to me that the ocean spray commercials were accurate to the cranberry reaping process I-
And they are actually filmed during harvesting. There is a feild or whatever it is near me that produces for ocenspray. They filmed an add there once but sadly it never made it to the TV.

Same. I thought it was just for aesthetic purposes.
@@Cyree532 sometimes when I am lonely I will shave one leg so it feels like I’m sleeping with a woman 👩🏼
i thought it was funny how she said Hire bees like do they go on job interviews get written up for disciplinary action they got a 401k and insurance that takes care of the family at their untimely death
Hahahaha! I love that. I bet they would love a 401K, too. (But seriously, the farmers hire them from beekeepers! They rent them for the days they need them to work!)
Mr. Buzzy, your pollination numbers are down for the 2nd month in a row; we're going to have to let you go. Clear out your desk.
Katrina Paris They probably have a HR department to sort out any human-bee workplace issues
lol yeah commercial bees like the honey cheerios bee
LOL. I caught that too: after pollinating a farm, do the bees go back to their homes or to their employer and wait for their next assignment.
One of the better things youtube randomly recommended to me.
Thank you so much for watching! Glad you found us.
I came here from a guy who made isopod fried rice, so yeah this is better. Lol.
Right?
Wanna sprite cranberry
Mee too.
Great Scott! One of the all time best agricultural videos EVER here on CZcams.
Thank you and greetings from Portugal.
CZcams : how does cranberry grow ?

I just learned about your channel, and can’t describe how happy your videos make me! They’re informative, fun to watch, and wholesome. Thank you!
I love cranberries, I eat them every single day in my oatmeal! It's a bonus for me that they're so good for you! I'm also very fascinated by the growing and harvesting process of this super fruit. Thanks for the video!
I like cranberries too. I like that they are not too sweet.
Highly informative content..i wish i could visit these farms.
TheOnlyInformant same😊
Golden Giduga I was thinking, when the drain the water for the flowers to grow, they should invite tourists. It would be a huge hotspot. Guess they can't be trusted tho
Golden Giduga Watch out for the Jersey Devil
Maybe you can. I jog around a few of the cranberry bogs in Plymouth, MA and see the process from flower, to flooding, and through to harvest. It's pretty cool, actually.
namrehsifjn FFS....you actually believe in that shit? I use to believe in the Jersey devil too
When I was a fucking 10
How do I get hired as a bee? How long do i have to work before I get benefits like flying insurance and stuff
Hehe! You might have to wait a long time. ;)
Ash Lina What in pollination?
How Does it Grow? Berry long😂
i think they only hire women
Allyssuhh Lmao do you laugh at my your own joked
I watched this video a year ago, mesmerized, and finally I could go see the cranberry bogs this October. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you for introducing this.
I'm so glad you got to see cranberries in person!
The overview of the the floating cranberries looked like an art piece
This beats working in an office all day...computer, phone calls, paperwork... cranberries look totally relaxing and stress free.😌
But it will be still doing same thing as we do in office
Imean boring after some time
I work on a cranberry marsh and it's fun but stressful.
Makes me want to start my own cranberry farm.
Caged dont they taste like shit
Incompetent Pilot W
Ok, it'll take you three generations to be successful
Can I work in your farm?
@@codaro. Yes
THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!
My eyes were glued to the screen!!
Your "How does it grow" series are the tops!! 👏👏👏💖
literally while watching this im drinking ocean spray cranberries, it taste good and also feel a relief on my kidney after drinking it..
Lienad Agbagala same exact thing here, that’s weird
And a ton of added sugar.
Great video ! I heard the cranberry got its name because the flower looks like the head of a Crane (bird) and so they were called Crane-berries.
Yes, that's correct!
Chad Puschel Nope. They actually were called Crackberries. Because the Natives did lots of crack around camp fires, while talking about the wolves.
This is so satisfying to watch
yes 🥰
I don't know why I was recommended this video but thank you CZcams, this video felt super happy, probably from the music
I fondly remember going onto my great grandfathers cranberry bogs in southern mass when i was a kid and eating cranberries right off the vine. He was a great man. I miss him dearly.
R.i.p
Wilho harju
Thank you for everything you taught me about growing cranberries.
Finally, I’m getting those long time weird questions I’ve wondered about answered.
Yes! Join our club! ;)
The moment I realize when I never actually had a legit cranberry, but just in other forms(dried, juice, sauce).
Absolutely loved this video! Really neat to see a cranberry harvest explained. Thanks! Have a great New Year.
By far, THE best video on CZcams. Thank you.
I would want to swim in that, even though the water might be sticky.
Water's not sticky at all, actually!
Oh! I assumed some of the cranberries are ripped open and it makes the water sticky. Good to know!
AnJell-O dude I was thinking the same thing I would love to go swimming in a cranberry pool
Cranberries are harvested in the fall so you might not want to swim for very long since the water will be cold that time of year where cranberries are grown. Plus the berries are quite firm and the skin strong so they don't release anything into the water. She says in the video they are like a small apple, and that is really exactly what they feel like. So when they flood the bog for harvesting it is to make it so the berries float around like a giant tub of bobbing for apples.
Some use even for softening skin so it would be good for skin
ITS really cool that you get to travel here. Best video on youtube on How we grow our food. Well done, informative. Music was perfect. I actually feel smarter now that I learned something :P. Subscribing.
THANK YOU!
How Does it Grow? yes you guys did a awesome job in this. The editing, the host, the music, the information was spot on. I would love if you guys could do something on the vanilla plant next
I remember I had to drink this when I had chlamydia
Skullsmasher 532 nice
Yeah me too when I had herpes 😂
😂😂😂😂
Lol seriously???? Did it work??? 😂 I thought it only cured urinary tract infections lol
Trueblue777 it’s a joke lol
Really excellent video! My toddler daughter asks me if we can watch this video most mornings haha.
just poured myself a glass of cranberry juice.
Caged I have some too haha
looks like a dream job to me.
Me to😇
I eat dried cranberries almost everyday. Sometimes I can go a day without but I need them for gastroparesis (paralyzed stomach). They are great starter food for me without making me feel really sick after eating in the morning.😍😍😍
Back in Massachusetts, my childhood home was literally on the other side of the road where a cranberry bog was. I’d skate on it every winter.
We get a lot of Blueberries in New Jersey. Especially in the pine barrens. If you go in the pine barrens, you are bound to find Blueberry bushes everywhere and you can just pick them off the bushes and eat them.
NJTransit Productions well it seems that berries love new jersey weather :)
Fida Aifiya
Evidently they do
NJTransit Productions Now if you want blueberries, up here in Maine is the place to be
Zachary Morin yes but why would I drive to a place that is almost a day away, while 10 minutes east of me, blueberry bushes will be literally everywhere I look. Blueberries are iconic to the pine barrens considering the fact that they are a major part of what makes up the pine barrens along with oak and pine trees.
+Zachary Morin Debatable. While Maine blueberries are very good, NJ blueberries are far better.
Wow, we are so blessed to have such beautiful foods of the earth and they are so delicate and special.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful information. Love it.
Oddly I’ve always wondered about this. Ty for sharing 🤘
Wow this was a REALLY well made video. Good stuff!! 👍👍👍
Thank you so much!
I really like these videos. So informative!
Bought Ocean Spray cranberry juice today and was curious to see how cranberries grow and are harvested. This video was interesting to watch !
I'm from NJ, and I remember Pinies working seasonally in the bogs. It's an experience. But, that's just one reason why NJ is still the Garden State. Love those cranberries!!!
Learned something new at 3 in the morning, hopefully it'll be useful one day
Not only America has them but also we in the Netherlands do. Somehow the plant got a huge wild culture on the island of Terschelling and a smaller one on the island of Vlieland which is professionally harvested each year. If you are a cranberry lover you ought to visit the island of Terschelling because it is unique.
Thanks so much for making this!!! I love it! Cranberries a r e AMAZING! I couldn't find any detailed info about them until this video, that's why I'm so ecstatic this exists! and that wow it's even weirder and beautiful than I thought, the humble cranberry indeed
This was so much fun too watch I’m attempting to make a badass cranberry orange bread for my family
Great cranberry sauce recepie. I'm sure going to make it this season.
Let me know how you like it!
Nice informative video! No bullshit or filler, just good ol information
Thanks!
The narration paired with the background music make me very happy.
Love your CZcams videos keep it up I’ve learned so much
I love the way cranberry fields look in the water
The world needs to hear more from the agricultural sector.Thank you for sharing these with us. :D
Agreed! And you're welcome!
So much information in such a short presentation.....fantastic
How interesting! Just found this channel. Love it!
I had absolutely no idea this is how they farm cranberries!!! I'm Australian so apart from juice and craisins we don't really eat a lot of them, but I wish we Could buy them fresh
They're not easy to find fresh here either outside of Thanksgiving!
Just a question Can Cranberries be eaten raw ? like for some vegans they eat anything raw.
I used to like to eat them raw as a kid, they can be sour, very sour.
like kind of very sour and tart?
Charlie Irvin sour and sweet
I always loved cranberries when I was little, I'd suck on the berry and I liked the tartness. as an adult I still love sour and tart things. I always buy as many cranberry bags as I can during thanksgiving and freeze them so I can make my own juice and jam through the year
Sounds fantastic!
Revisited it 4 years later.
Wow
Love your enthusiasm
I always was curious about cranberries as a kid... and I learned so much from this wonderful video~
Thank you for sharing the info!
Very interesting how they harvest the cranberries and how they leave the plants underwater for a duration 👍🏽
We don't have cranberries where I live so this was mesmerizing 😍 the aerial view n the underwater view were so beautiful. Wish we had them here.

“Hiring commercial bees “ crack me up. Btw thanks for the recipe
Commercial bees are a thing. Almond farmers in California depend on them also.

That’s very idealistic and overly simplistic. Wish it was that straightforward.
