Brushes are placed on electrically neutral positions By rotating the yoke you may have higher speeds but this is not the case under load. If you rotate the yoke and drill holes to fix yoke, you will have too many sparks between the commutator & carbon brushes.. this may yield failures related to commutator wear. and you will receive too much noise from your FM / AM radio while you were running wipers.
greaaaaaaaaaaat .. we made a robot by two kind of this motor but the two motors are the same "the core direction of both looking to the left " so we put one of them normally in the left side of robot and another one in the right side but by reverse it .. so when the robot run in fwd direction it go to fwd and right because of the different in the speed between two both sides .. really we thank you .. big kiss for you from Egypt ..
I have to assume that the Motors magnets are attached to the shell and you are "detuning" the motor by rotating the case. I like the way you are thinking out of the box. Thanks for posting this video. I have been reversing my motor by using the slow speed tapping as a ground and the ground as reverse and fast speed as forward. Its not ideal I know but it works. The biggest disadvantage is that it draws 1.5A in one direction and nearly 2A in the other.
I maybe missing something but you say to make new holes when correct position is found, none of the wiper motors that I have seen have a lip all round so how do you make the new holes, to what?

You should not do this to a motor. You are misaligning the poles with the brushes. If you want to change the speed you could add resistors to the circuit, use a variable voltage power supply, a variac or rheostat. it just needs to be sized for the current draw.
I was already been using h-bridges with PWM to vary the speed and direction of it. It was just no providing same speed on both directions because of the "factory" misalignment of the brushes. They build them misaligned like that to provide more power to one direction, but it was not what I needed it for.
no it is not possible.. windings of the rotor of 24 V would be different, you may have to rewind the rotor with lower copper wire section in order to have same power. If you power the 12V motor with 24V, you may have higher currents and very high temperatures.. consequently thermic cut-out would stop the motor

I believe the only reason your speed is changing is because by turning the motor you're increasing or decreasing friction of gear meshing. Take an amp reading at different speeds if it's constant im full of shit, bet it's not though!

i used your video to speed up the wiper motors on my projects and matched their speeds since they were form different manufacturers

wiper motor rotates in only one direction, its the pivoting arms that swing the wipers up and down. motor's rotating direction doesnt change.

Frank W ...not true the brushes remain stationary and the poles cant shift unless voltage is reversed.
