I can understand the change. It allows for flexibility in the type of videos you can make, and I would assume that idea has come from the two channels that allowed you to grow (Tom Scott and Austin McConnell). I was happy to shed my “other” name a while back and I feel like things just work out better this way. I’m so excited to see what you continue to do and see how you continue to grow! I honestly don't remember subscribing, but apparently I did. Looking at the backlog I also don't recall any of the videos. Not complaining though. They look like the type of video I would normally watch, I am just confused. My only guess is that I looked the channel up when Austin McConnell or Tom Scott mentioned it and subscribed without watching a video first.

Suggestion for you: could aspect science become a series on your channel? Whether you decide to retire it or continue, i would love to see a playlist of aspect science content! This keeping in mind that content has been the only stuff on this channel and idk how differentiable the new content will be. But i look forward to the videos to come!
The new videos will essentially be the same for the most part, there will just be MORE content, some of which may be a little different :)

It's okay to admit that people watch and subscribe more when you present a face/person instead of a brand and you need the economics of the channel to work if you are to make it a full time job.
The end result is more of your videos in the channel, so it's a win-win scenario :-D
A very big part of this is wanting to make it clear that this is a channel with personality, basically along the lines of what you're saying. I appreciate you understanding!

I actually found you through a comment you made on a Life Noggin video, right before the Austin flood.
In an era where people are splitting off channels to help with retention and engagement so youtube recommends their channel more, Consolidating a bunch of stuff into one channel is a brave move. Good to know some people are not just slaves to the view count and ad money.
TL;DR: Aspect science is rebranding itself, and the topics of the videos will be more broad than just science from now on.
