      @@Kilen_BE tbf the curse wouldnt be that op if the AI was just intelligent enough to know to stop moving. AI is just brain dead as normal. At this point I just hope CA eventually gets an entire outside studio to handle solely AI so it can be done right but that'll never happen lol

    To be fair this kind of stuff was expected. CA pushes the power creep more and more with every DLC. There will be even more powerful mechanics in Thrones of Decay. They will probably nerf this but not to the point of being balanced. I hope the AI wont cheese this atleast

      I genuinely thinking about going back to Total Warhammer 2. Battles were more meaningful back then. We actually had to care about each match. Now we win a few battles at the start and get so broken we auto-resolve everything else all the way to the end.

      The backlash was so bad GW offered full refunds if you wanted to return the models because of the rework

    If you had the rest of ingredients of the red and green categories I think you would be able to craft 3 of those curses per turn making this a 7 turn strategy instead of 20

    I...Honestly kind of hope this stays around.
    Is it stupid? Yes.
    Is it broken? Also yes.
    Does it take a bit to make? Not really.
    But is it hilarious: Very much so.
    The only thing I would change is to make this a consumable item for curses that are particularly this potent (I don't mind blessings being non-consumable and instead being dished out like an extended ancillary bar for armies) and call it a day as that is still one-hundred spirits spent, twenty turns used, and all of it in preparation for a single battle against a full stack army. That seems reasonable for the amount of cheese you can prepare without it being the 'go-to' strategy against most armies. This shouldn't be how you approach every battle, but it is something to save to particularly end specific enemies. Like I imagine I would've loved this when I helped my friend win his siege battle back in Warhammer 2 when we were playing Dark Elves and his settlement was attacked by a much larger force. How I won with his tiny army and garrison was use Doomfire Warlocks to waste ammo and tire out troops who chased them across the map while the real army remained hidden. I could see a similar means to make hopeless defenses for field battles a potential win, provided the enemy isn't too range heavy/superior.

    This feels like an extremely impactful curse vs any army that relies on a handful of powerful core units. Things like elite cavalry or infantry, or archers if you can make them move. Just shred them before the battle ever really begins and tailor your army to deal with single entities and chaff

    I think you can do something similar (or at least used to be able to) with the lore of deeps. Back in WH2 I tried killing an army purely with its passive, and it worked. The passive effects at least back then started when you clicked to cast a spell, not when the spell was cast, so you could just keep switching between 2 spells that took 5 seconds to cast and get 100% uptime on the deeps passive, and the ai wouldn't come attack you.

      I'm pretty sure they fixed spell process effects triggering before the spells actually got cast. Now you have to cast a spell to trigger the effect.

    I assume they will introduce some curse cap in a future update (4.1 or 5.0). so you cant use the same curse more than X times on an army.

    I don't know why everyone is crying in the comments. Do they not realise that these are consumable items that only last for 1 battle? If people think spending 20 turns gathering up curses and then another 30mins afking a battle to kill 1 army is even a worthwhile investment, much less "broken", I don't know what to say.
    I think this looks interesting and actually useful against individual powerful units every now and then. I was expecting these one time consumables to be too underwhelming to be worth spending time on.

    This is an excellent example of a fun mechanic that is fine in single player and realistically will only be used to take out key enemy units at the early stages of a battle instead of putting it on all enemy units on every single fight.
    It is also an excellent example of something that the multiplayer people will complain about and CA in their infinite wisdom will just remove from the game :(

      @@odmloupi Is it not in multiplayer? I am talking about Head to Head campaigns, not the multiplayer skirmishes obviously.
      I wouldn't mind a nerf. I equally enjoy fun broken things and challenging experiences.
      I am sure it could be brought in line by having it only work if the unit is in a forest, for example, which would both make sense given what the curse is thematically and incentivise you to kite your enemies in terrain that gives you the advantage.
      I am just saying that it looks fun, it has potential and I am worried CA will just delete it like they seem to do lately with their "reworks".

    Attrition on the battlefield IS powerful BUT you know what, it is better because if you applied that curse on the campaign map the enemy army will receive like 0.0000000000001% attrition

    So...Ostankya can just not fight any battle due to hexes, Yuan Bo makes literally infinity money from caravans and Changeling has invisible armies and settlements and literally can't lose the campaign.
    No, I don't see any problems with the balance here...

      Nuke barely does anything to the monstrous infantry, characters and monsters, you also cannot win with a single lord and single nuke against fully stacked enemy army, this is way stronger.

      @@RMZ1989 I dont know if you noticed... But this "curse" is pretty much the same. It does very little to characters/lords (as seen in this very video) and thus most likely also to monsterous infantry and single monster entities. But ti takes at least 20 turns to prepare if you want to inflict it on the whole enemy army. Meanwhile you can craft skaven nuke in 1 turn. Not to mention the caviat of enemy having to move for this curse to inflict damage. For nuke you just need to blob enemy up which is easily done with summoned rat unit.

      @@martinbudinsky8912 it's not the same, you can literally kill entire army including Lords, Heroes and monsters with it, just takes to play battle longer (which people that like to cheese this kind of stuff have no issues with it), you cannot kill characters and monsters with a Nuke, you cannot win a battle with a single level 1 Lord that has more than 3 characters/monsters with just a Nuke.
      It also doesn't take 20 turns to prepare, as someone mentioned in the comments you can prepare in 7 turns as you can craft 3 per turn.

      @@RMZ1989 Okay... I suggest you pay attention to the timer up top in the middle of the screen. It took 30 or so minutes to kill one of the "weakest" lords (in terms of health bar and regeneration). It would NOT kill something with more HP or regeneration at all in those 60 minutes you have for battle. It simply wouldnt do enough dmg. Not to mention that if the lord was one that is mostly stationary like lets say Kugath for example then it would do truly nothing as it does damage only when the character moves (and its fixed damage not a %)... Also AI wont always move which is another variable (yes even if you fly your lord around for example).
      So really your point of it being better than the skaven nuke because it doesnt kill lords is pretty flawed as this also wont be able to kill many lords or heroes.
      AND NO YOU CANT CRAFT 3 PER TURN! Get your infor right. You can use EACH ingredient ONCE per turn. In other words you can craft multiple DIFFERENT curses or blessing per turn. But not the same one. In other words yet it DOES take 20 turns.

    when warhammer 3 came out i thought we wouldn't have to deal with the incredible power creep anymore, since the original factions weren't op. I've given up on that.

      Power creep? More like power stampede. But there's an upside for some of the existing factions with strong casters. Yuan Bo's defeat trait is a delicious -20% WOM cost for all spells, which I reckon is actually quite the buff for almost anyone. I mean, Jesus effing Christ. You can already just about pump out spells with Kairos, throw in that + Blue Scribes and I reckon he's literally at infinite WOM.

    Since this is campaign i honestly feel its fine, you can only dothis once every 20 turns anyway. Considering the rate at which changeling (vortex beast) or throgg (trolls) can get doomstacks its not that bad.

    Seems a bit inefficient to use this against a full army, though. More like something to super easily murder whatever high tier non-single entity you feel like getting rid of. Slaanesh can seduce, Mother Stinky merely makes it walk itself to death. But holy cow, this DLC feels so broken. Cathay with the crazy caravan money and Yuan Bo's execution thing, impossible to lose Changeling with Blue Scribs on top, and now this.

    The real issue here was the AI, even if you had brought a full army they should have attacked under these circumstances. Probably need to cap the curses or reduce damage as well but that AI is effectively broken.

    Does anyone even use normal tactics anymore? Seems to me that it´s become too easy to cheese the game to high heavens. It´s always the same pattern, roll over your first few foes,, then get your super OP stuff and the campaign is effectively over. You are lucky if your op stuff even inlcudes units at all.

    This doesn’t sound hella OP, it IS hella OP.
    CA is for sure gonna have to nerf this one in someway. Imagine fighting mother and she does this to your top tier army/doomstack and all your guys die in 5-10min. Especially with all her stalk/snipe ambushers.

      you can wipe any army no matter what with this… like a skaven nuke but it hits the entire map.
      Sounds to strong to me.
      I haven’t even looked into here hag hut things, there might be something even stronger… just feels like very little balance was used for these new factions. They are just OG faction but better. Power creep is ofc used for selling DLC but this is a dumb amount of power creep.

    Kinda feels like a waste to be honest. It's best used against elite infantry and cavalry from the looks of it and is weaker against single entities.
    I think it's better to save them for those elite units so any army you fight is easily crushed rather than to waste it on one free win.
    Ridiculously strong either way though.
