    An army of 19 assorted khorne warriors work amazingly well as a crapstack. Autoresolve gives almost all fights to them, they replenish very quickly and take a huge amount of punishment. You can recruit them in 1 turn from global and local so even if you lose some, your army will get back on its feet quickly. So ironically, Khorne is a better Nurgle than Nurgle.

    • @silverdeathgamer2907
      @silverdeathgamer2907 Před 2 lety +23

      Nurglings are completely awful in autoresolve, and that is going to be a good part of your filler early game as Nurgle. Though while Khorne lacks healing Nurgle lacks speed which is more important.

    • @bomjus1706
      @bomjus1706 Před 2 lety +16

      yeah before 1.1 i don't think i would have played nurgle anything. but after 1.1, daemon prince dedicated to nurgle is just crazy. 20% replenishment for nurgle units, you can recruit anything except great unclean ones in 1 turn (after 1 battle), and your plaguebearers are cheap as fuck from -25% global upkeep reduction + -20% upkeep reduction follower. khorne's units are still better. but i can afford probably 1-2 more armies as dedicated to nurgle because of the plague bearer ancillary

      While warriors are very good, their speed limits their ability to synergizes with the rest of the high mobility Khorne roster. While individually the warriors may perform better, the bloodletters cover ground so much more quickly that you are really able to limit the 2nd line and artillery effectiveness of the enemy army. That being said, warriors comprising the majority of the garrison is an absolute win, as their tankiness allows the true damage dealer, towers, to win the battle.

    One key thing to mention in the campaign, if you bum rush N'kari with Skarbrand (can be quickly achieved due to Khorne's mechanics) you can get a landmark called the Machina Daemonium I believe that greatly reduces global recruitment and upkeep costs for bloodletters, making them ridiculously cheap for how well they can perform.

  • @Olav_Hansen
    @Olav_Hansen Před 2 lety +71

    Coincidentally in almost all of these matches there were factors that put bloodletters in disadvantage:
    -Forsaken: famously bad ap spread->more effective to light armor, as well as having magical attacks bypassing resistance
    -against guns you should have them charging. It would probably do better compared to halberd/dual weapons
    -cannons is fair.
    -light cav->non ap damage->relatively more effective vs bloodletters
    -there are 2 different kinds of "elite infantry", those with ap and those without. Those without generally have slightly better 'other' stats, so bloodletters not having armor hurts them again.
    Bloodletters work best as the center of your forces against ap dealing elite infantry. Sadly for the bloodletters, in the current meta only celestial dragonguard and khorne's halberds really have that role. But I think they are balanced for when immortal empires comes out. They should be able to trade well against har ganeth executioners, black orcs, greatswords, grave guard (gw), temple guard, hammerers, depth guard and sword masters of hoeth.
    Most of these units should be fairly effective against the other khorne warriors, since most have roughly 100 armor, ap damage, anti infantry, and lack magical attacks.

    Halberds are absurdly efficient, even against infantry. They're just slow to do the killing (but that's what bloodcrushers and minotaurs are there for!). Another thing to bear in mind with them that given Khorne has no missiles, the AI tends to just slam their cav/monsters into your frontline, further making Halberds more effective. I like to have 2 shields up front and spread out to take any initial missile salvos, 3-4 halberds make up the main body of the frontline and then 2 exalted bloodthirsters are held slightly back to either overlap or exploit gaps without risk of being charged or blasted by missiles. Works a charm!

    For domination, there's certainly points of time where they got their usage, but it's mostly as fodder when you run out of hounds. Flesh Hounds are just so much better in every situation for 100 less, can vanguard, fast speed and is one unit that pairs well with a strong frontline to flank an engagement, them and furies.
    So only points I've seen bloodletters be worth it is when you need more bodies quickly but you don't have enough hounds. If you want something to be killy, it's better to go with the dual weapons majority of the time, and if you really want that killing power, go with exalted bloodletters. Even with their speed, you're better getting any of the hounds or furies to flank a unit.
    They kinda have the same issue as daemonettes, a niche unit you don't wanna use as your core army most of the time, with few usages. But if you don't worry about speed and aren't sure what to pick, I'd say just go dual weapons.
    Ofcourse it's a whole other deal with campaign, but in campaign you can make anything work if you really want to, so I would just go with whatever and make fun armies, then learn from whatever you feel is most fun.

    Campaigns might change this if there are techs that affect bloodletters but not corn warriors. I think lord skills all affect bloodletters and corn infantry equally.
    I'd warn not to mix and match infantry of different speeds otherwise bloodletters end up finishing fights before corn warriors arrive. You can see this in the siege test since there's such a high difference in arrival times enemies or bloodletters would have routed. You can purposely slow down your bloodletters but enemy missile units will focus your squishier targets or lords while you do so get good at dodging! And during sieges slowing down means the enemy is better in position.
    I'm surprised bloodletters did so poorly vs Tzar guard considering the bloodletters have an anti-infantry bonus and are armor piercing. 2 things that counter tzar guard. I expect them to at least do better than Chaos warriors with halberds.
    It might be more elevation shenanigans since each unit fights at a different spot? Nvm they're just going to lose to the tzar guard. Without the boyar I think it's much closer though.

    So do magic attacks still work like TWW2? Bc that's why I took bloodletters - to kill demon infantry w physical resist. I'm pretty sure that is where blood letters shine above their mortal counterparts. I remember testing myself, and I found the mortals were better against mortals, and demons better vs demons. You tested against forsaken which are the black sheep of demon infantry bc heavy armor, where all other demon infantry have low armor and get cut down quick by bloodletters. I guess I'll have to test again...

    My bet is that the demons' campaign physical resistance does not apply in custom battle, therefore the demons would perform better in campaign that the warriors.

      In MP the units displayed are priced relatively similar, whereas exalted blood letters are much more expensive than anything on that list. 750 for khorne warriors, 800 for blood letters, 850 for khorne halberds, 950(or 900) for khorne dual weapons and exalted bloodletters would have been a major outlier at 1200.
