- Laser (ILCA) upwind practice in SF bay in 14-16 knts wind. The practice focus was extra hiking and easing the main sheet when hitting the waves to mitigate the impact. I tried hike harder than usual for this limited time of about 10 minutes for this practice.

must be a strong puff to be working the boat that hard with a radial rig, good stuff!
Thank you very much for the comment!
Awesome videos. Love the graphics (and sailing technique). Please keep posting! These will help me get through next winter!
Thank you very much for your encouragement!
Good work sailor, perfect wind, lovely boat too!
Thank you very much!
good to see.Can you tell me what camera you are using and where is it set? What equipment was used to record these nautical data? Thank you.
Thanks for the interest. I have an old document which I wrote a couple of years ago, which is now stale, but camera mount part is still valid. The link (dropbox) is: www.dropbox.com/s/yo2hhrdsadx6fod/Laser_onboard_camera.pages.pdf?dl=0.
I now use GoPro Hero 6, which has nice horizontal leveling/locking feature (this feature is available from Hero 6 or later) so that the background is locked instead of boat is locked in the video. In addition, I use “Max Lens Mod” which can provide the wider view angle. I found this “Max Lens Mod” + “horizon locking” can provide very good footage.
GoPro video data already includes many GPS data, but to display the information, I use “Telemetry Overlay” app on Mac (also available on Windows) to add the telemetry gauges. Searching “Telemetry Overlay GoPro” will hit the app.
@@toshinaritakayanagi Thank you soo much.I will follow and setup my boat later. What equipment you record the speed, wind direction and other sailing data? Thx.
@@user-vo1hq8gb1g The GoPro includes the GPS etc. data in the video, so you do not need additional equipment. Speed etc. is calculated from the GPS data, and Telemetry Overlay extracts/processes the information to provide the information. Just in case, the angle shown at the upper right corner is not the wind direction but the boat direction.
@@toshinaritakayanagi Thank you so much.

Very good sailing but you should use less rudder to bear away and actually just let the main out a bit
