- Back on the cliffs at Bennett Springs again, next time i plan to get an even higher recording. The echo here is just something to witness in person.

I’d _love_ to get a nighttime recording of this someday! Since they’re only tested at 10:00 AM, my only hope would to be at the park during a tornado warning.

@@xaptusI’ve frequently wondered about a proper stereo or binural recording for various model sirens at various points around you. (I have one I’ve been wanting to capture for a while whilst I work on the placement to record at.)
@@progenitor_amborella The location I record this particular siren is an awesome vantage point; just a bit of hiking & slight climbing to get to it, but the payoff is huge.

@@benmeyer2916 Ehh not exactly mountains, but the distant hills & valleys do help out with the echo. Also the siren is elevated about 50ft higher than where this was recorded.

The timer seems to be running a bit fast so it doesn’t wind down long enough but it still sounds stunning regardless

Laclede tests their sirens on the second Wednesday of the month at 10:00 AM.
It sounds cool in video, but the echoes are truly something to behold in person!

I recorded this from the top of the cliffs at Bennett Springs State Park, just outside of Lebanon MO in Laclede County.
They sound at 10:00 AM on the second Wednesday of the month for a 3-minute alert.
If you’d like, we can meet together next month & I can get you more accurate direction to get to the cliffs from there.
Where are those Sirens coming from
2T22 is actually sounding from Laclede for a test so that everyone will know that all the sirens work
