Caramelizing Beer

- Beer poking involves heating a metal rod in a fire until it's glowing red and then plunging the tip into a glass of beer for a few seconds. Ideally, a beer high in residual sugars such as bock. The poker flash heats and instantly caramelizes the residual malt sugars abundant in certain types of beer.
We secured the extremely rare Yuengling Bock beer and prepare to embark on a new, epic beer quest. To caramelize beer.

There's a lot of potential here. One could modify this set up as a discada and have some Negra Modelos on hand for some beer poking while cooking your disco.
Negra modelos would be the perfect beer to try this with, fantastic idea.
This is so cool! Gonna get one of these and bring it camping this summer. Perfect campfire beer tool 🤣
That flavour profile sounds awesome! I need to try this
If you can pull off the setup, it’s worth it. Meant to be more of a campfire thing
this was awesome! 🍻
Glad you enjoyed it!
We have a brewery here in Ft. Lauderdale called Invasive Species Brewing Co. that does this with a rum barrel aged stout. I've never tried it, but this is making me want to go give it a try! Thanks for the video, great to see you guys doing this stuff together!
If you do get a chance to give it a try at some point, let us know how it is! So curious to hear how it tastes with a rum barrel aged stout.
I gotta try this lol
You won’t be disappointed
Awesome!!! I wonder if any beers sell pre-caramelized using a similar method.
Ohhhh interesting question! I wonder. You spotted a gap in the market Bill
must try this yoke! Love the idea - but i would struggle to get it that hot i think. Presume it would not work well with a Nitro Stout? Try it!! LOL
I'd be really curious to try this with a stout
That’s a really good question! I think part of the fun would be seeing how it affects different styles of beers. Definitely works best with darker lagers or ales, like the recommended bock
another great video beer bracket brothers but this is the best one yet in my opinion
🙇🏻🍻 thanks for watching and for the kind words David!
you are very very welcome brothers
Please don't do this with the Heady Toppers I gave you.
😂😂 Would never dream of violating the Heady Toppers that way.
This would be the beer equivalent of using Pappy 23 to make a whiskey and Coke, lol
