Why do all horror movies take place in a nice big house. Try living in a crappy little apartment with no a/c, that's a real horror movie
😂👌🏻
I'm so sorry to hear that
🤣🤣🤣
LMAOROTF!!!
The movie Mulberry Street took place in Apartments!
Another horror movie trailer that starts with a car driving along a long secluded road with a singular, sinister note playing
LOL true, so true! :D
Yeah so... What's the problem.
Lol dang
and the famous tea pot whistle
No need to fix what isn't broken
The family never should have bought the Evil Dead cabin.
But it was SUCH a great price!!!
But but but, it was on sale...;)
you mean the Evil Dead Cabin In The Woods At The End Of The Street?
They never listen
I swear to ya , that thought crossed my mine too ! 😁
My grandmother had dementia. I lived with her and my mother. This movie did an excellent job portraying the emotions of a real life nightmare watching the slow decay of someone you love.
Wouldn't you think a carbon dioxide od would be in order or something...? You wouldn't let an animal suffer like that.
my grandmother that passed away this year had dementia as well and while they did get some of the behaviour right,i hate how they made the disease into a horror movie trope, people with dementia don't turn randomly violent and evil, lol.
also i didn't find the movie that scary, some parts ar good the rest is mehh
@@madhukarjonathanminj2772 well it says "theres evil lurking "so maybe sumthin like a possession? cuz she also says "i see you" when she's turned towards the wall [not spoilers , just whats in the trailer]
It happened to my grandmother. Now it's got my aunt. I've left it in my will to my children to make it look like a suicide if I'm next in line
The characters in this movie have never heard of such a thing as light bulb or a flashlight.
have you never heard of a scary movie?? 😏
This film was a fantastic allegory for struggling with family members with dementia. Seriously smart filmmaking, and a crazy 3rd act that is entirely unexpected.
Cried at the end. Heartwarming family reunion.
I specifically came here to see if I was the only one that cried at the end. Thank you
"This house seems unfamiliar" Nana you had dementia ofc it is unfamiliar.
😂
Lmaooo
@Disposable Email You were right.... I just finished watching it and I loved it but still need second view. Perhaps, I miss something
lmao
Call a Witcher to get over that dank house proceed by either:
- Reason with the creature into leaving folks in peace
- Clues to appease this possible sentient being
- Hack it to pieces
I choose option C!
C seems reasonable
Either that or the SCP Foundation.
Rob Nie LMAO
Option A
This movie affected me so much, by the end I was so upset, with a knot in my gut and throat just about to burst into tears. “I am loved”. There is so much humanity in this film, it’s painful to watch.
Now this is a good trailer! Showing you enough to pique your interest but not too much that it ruins the entire movie.
Don't even bother going to watch it. I went yesterday and the movie is even more dark than it shows here. There is maybe 2 scenes where you can actually fully see their face. Everything else is either just a black shadow or you get to see half or 1/4 of their face. At one point a character was walking around with a flashlight AS THE LIGHTS WERE ON because thats how little lighting there actually was. Everyone was complaining during the entire movie. No one understood what was happening. The credits started to roll and we didn't even know the movie was over. I literally can't tell you what the movie is about. Its so dark you couldn't even see the "its here" sticky note. No one had any idea what was happening when she was in the closet. Everyone was bitching and trying to get their money back. It was a complete waste of time and $100.
Be nice if you could SEE it.
The film is too dark, literally. I can't see half of them.
Where can I see it? Thanks
Its your biscuit flip phone you're using!
@Dr. Robert Neville 😁
I have an iphone pro and I cant see shit
Background Music Name Please 🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹
I think the the background sounds is more scariest than the movie.
It seems that people who watch this films fall into two groups. Those that take it at face value and expect a classic horror and finish watching it confused. These people seem to give three stars. Average but nothing special. Then there are those who seem to understand the real horror is living with loved ones with dementia and seeing how it effects everyone it comes into contact with. These viewers appreciate the delicacy, skill, and pace that the film uses in order to create a sense of real horror. These viewers will give it it a 5/5.
I stand in the latter category. Dementia runs in my family. But this is no the less a good suspensful thriller.
my grandmother had dementia and they did get somethings right regarding how a person with Dementia behaves and it does have good acting and moments but it was still a very average movie for me.
Alec, can i assume youve placed yourself in the superior category?
I kept expecting Emily Mortimer’s character to say, “Ow...careful! My bones.”
Omg! I'm cracking up reading all these comments. Now I won't be able to watch the movie and take it seriously!
Not sure what everyone's problem with the brightness is but I just watched this with a projector, which is typically a lower quality than a TV, and I was fine. And I highly recommend watching it, it's so creepy. It's not like Hereditary at all. Much slower, much more haunting, but it doesn't have it any moments where you're cowering in fear. It wants to haunt you, not terrorize you. Alot like Oculus.
Really? Besides any darkness I thought the movie itself was total garbage. I wonder why you liked it at all.
I adore OCULUS
@@mytube6538 i didn't like it as well,it was a bit of a bore.
WATCHING IT RIGHT NOW SO FAR SO GOOD
Film was very moving and sad tbh..Great ending i thought and very uplifting :)
Sadly not a remake or a sequel to the cinematic masterpiece that was the Tom Sizemore "Relic" movie. shucks.
lol, that was the first thing I thought too at reading the title.
Only reason i clicked smfh
Why would you want a remake of a masterpiece?
Wait its really that good? I read the book but never bothered with the film
@@TheFinalGate_ me too...it was better movie that people gave it credit
Was terrified all the way through - sobbed at the end.
Same!
IFC midnight produces some of, if not the best, horror movies made today. I’m NEVER disappointed! Can’t wait to see this!
No other studio lives up. There are no scary films now, likely due to the rapid aging of CGI animation in said films, but IFC has a few outliers that are ALMOST scary.
I like mystery movies and at the same time hate it when the ending stays a mystery.
These people don't know how to make a movie
What is at all mysterious about that ending?
@@nickparton5663 yeah, I mean the ending was pretty clear right
The ending was very clear to me
You did not have to leave that as a comment for people coming to the preview to see if they wanted to watch it, and may have wanted an untainted viewing experience. Please, next time write a user review on rotten tomatoes or something. Not of the freaking preview of the movie.
This is such an excellent directorial debut for Natalie Erika James...
Everything is about madness, but like a metaphor. The grandma body means she's completely insane. The black spot on the mother's back means that she inherited the madness of the grandmother. The horror comes when the daughter realize that she's the next.
wasn't this supposed to be in Chicago with a mutant monster terrorizing the Field Museum of Natural History?
Still loving it so much ❤️
the Chicago museum movie is called The Relic. This one is called Relic. no connection between the two, but both are great!
Reliquary?
The music and the way the trailer is cut is clearly inspired by the Hereditary trailer.
Sold. I'll definitely watch this.
That under the bed scene was creepy. I expected something to jump out. Nicely done.
This was actually really rather good. Better than most horrors. Give it a go!
Thanks
This film is like a combination of "Hereditary" and "the visit".
Anyone else agree???
I watched it today and couldn’t stop thinking about how it was similar to the Visit although less disturbing
Looks great, Thank you! 👍
this looks a hell of a lot like the Taking of Deborah Logan
It looks a lot better than it lol
THANK YOU!! I was trying to tell my wife and I couldn’t think of the name of it! Ahhhhhh 😆🙌 thank you!!!!
How was that?
Yes!! It looks scarier tho.
I fucking loved that movie though.. That one moment at the end had me litteraly jumping out of my seat screaming what the fuck is that?
Wow it ended so sad. I just had to cry. Its such a great movie really
Its a great lesson aswell
I cried, too
It’s like “The Taking of Deborah Logan” meets “The Visit” but also gives me “Hereditary” vibes and the cabin reminds me of “Evil Dead”
I was literally going to say the same thing....
Everyone knows under the bed there's Bruce Campbell with a chainsaw attached to his arm...
1:40 Imagine ruining a tense scene with a cut and sound like that lmfao.
Background Music Name Please 🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹
It’s probably more scary than you make it out to be
Geralt of Rivia : “Mmh”
I see, you’re a man of culture.
This is the kind of movie that makes me fall asleep faster at night.
It took Only Half second to fall asleep, by an uppercut.
You should stick with Michael Bay films then
Agreed
Masterpiece!!! This is proper horror. None of this jump scare conjuring universe shit
😆
Just came from the short film Creswick. Someone in the comments said this is a full movie version of that short basically. Well not the same exact stories but similar. Interested to see this.
I don't know but the music make me laugh a couple times... I was waiting for the "What's up" lol
Jake Gyllenhaal and the Russo Brothers are producers on this, so I have high hopes! Plus the trailers giving good film vibes, looks like they used their budget on practical effects instead of CGI, and the actors all seem to be able to hold the screen so I'm looking forward to this horror/thriller!
I think we’ll watch this during the day. 😬
I loved this movie...so well crafted in every way.
Will you recommend to watch?
Where did you watch this
WHY IS THIS MADE SO LIGHT
This isn't a sole supernatural flick. This real life, people come down with memory loss, they struggle, they know and hate it. They forget loved ones. They struggle between present and past. And we, as the loved ones have see and experience their loss. We watch them slowly as they go. As they forget our names, their memories and lives !
If granny says there's something under the bed it's best to just leave the house 😌
@bocoy noiu it's just gonna be a stupid movie I agree with you on that
Yep
The movie reflects a terrifying reality... perfect movie... it's not about a ghost story or a demon
ÀBSOLUTELY RIGHT 💛💛💛

Dark scenes, watch it in a big screen, lights off. If you have a sound system or home teather, will notice some very good and creepy noises. Great sound design. I really appreciate horror movies that have more ambience than jumpscares. I'll be looking for more Natilie's work.
That looked awesome
"I thought that might be where it got in." That statement terrified me more than any jump scare.
does anyone know If this movie will be available in Canada??
Good to see we're getting our yearly good horror

so your the person getting in the house and scaring that poor old woman, shame on you sir

@@bloke.named.imagii Incredible how childish you have to be to judge someone for commenting their opinion on a public forum
So when does this come out? Theaters are closed...
Where can I watch this?
My God. As a New Zealander, a person from a country being a purveyor of fine, world class films, I never thought our Aussie brothers would actually create a movie I would want to see. I have never seen an Aussie movie that is quality. They always seem like low budget, poorly written garbage more depressing than they are enjoyable and mostly star Rebecca Gibney, Lisa McCune or Gary Sweet 😂😂.
This actually looks like something I want to watch!
Anything with Emily Mortimer I'll watch.
What's with horror films these days that everything is so dark you can't see shit?! Ugh!
127.0.0.1 It’s a trope they can’t seem to get out of, any horror movie, TV show and video game all are infected, how can you get scared if you can’t see anything, sound FX can go only so far, and don’t even get started on the jump scares BS.
Its wayyyy worse when you go to see it. It was so dark none of us knew what was going on and everyone was bitching the entire time. People even left in the middle of the movie trying to get their money back. I watched it and couldn't even tell you what happened. You couldn't even see the "its here" sticky note and I was in the first row
Secret Whispers If people just shut off their lights you probably be able to see. But with lights it just makes it hard to see. It’s like watching la llorona. I mean la llorona was also dark in theater. Don’t get me wrong, the movie is probably good but what makes it worst is not seeing a dang thing. I mean if it’s that bad on seeing, why can’t they make 3D with those dark movies lol 😂
@@jacobweier23 everyones lights were off. Its just such a dark movie and then at one point of course the lights in the house got cut off and thats when everyone realllllly got pissed. Cause the little bit of light there was in the house to see got cut off lol. None of us understood the movie. People were literally leaving and bitching saying they wanted their money back cause no one could see anything.
@@secretwhispers9592 really? I just watched it at home and had no issues with seeing everything. There's only one moment where everything goes complete black for 15 seconds. Must be your TV or something
"I thought I saw a demon under the bed. Ups, a book felt to the floor, let's switch my attention to that, pick it up and forget about the trivial demon thing."
"Horrifying sounds coming from the walls, but wait, they seem to have stopped now, never mind."
"The washer machine is on in the middle of the night for no reason, lets turn it off and go back to bed"
Looks interesting enough to me. I think this one could be good.
is it out yet? after watching Natalie short horror film Chaswick this one definitely must watch
Good movie. Fun take on the symbolism of Jungian dream analysis. A house is always the Self, with unknown/unfamiliar rooms representing suppressed aspects of Self. Also taps archetypes of Virgin/Mother/Crone. Thumbs up!
So...passed Psych 101, huh? Lol
AWESOME
Bravo!!!
This movie looks like it has potential.👍
Reminds me of a reddit "chilling story" about an evil granny named Ma Lizzie
I came to watch the trailer of the 1997 Relic and I was like dang this looks good lmaooo
😂
Same
Without spoiling too much this movie has the most unexpectedly sad and beautiful ending. I think I cried for about an hour after it was over. Amazing film.
The ending wasn't "sad and beautiful". The movie was disappointing and not at all how horror should be.
@@Stagnant131what does horror mean to you then? There’s a lot of types of horror and this one was more a slow burn but eerie nonetheless. I won’t say it’s sad, just a stark reminder of what Alzheimer’s does to a family.
MUST SEE MOVIE....
The scariest thing about the movie is everyone's handwriting, like for real I couldn't read a single note lol
Recently watched this. Very good metaphorical film about mental illness.
This is a great movie .. stays with u for a while after ..

The movie is just like any other horror movie, but that doesn’t mean it’s not good. I really enjoyed watching this movie!
Ok, try to watch it
This is literally a Netflix version of the “Hereditary” trailer lol...With that said...I will be watching 🤷🏾♂️

Great movie.

I thought this was a trailer for the movie "Relic" from the 90's. I HATE it when movies have the same titles. Anyway, this movie looks good and I love Emily Mortimer.
Christopher Gomez it'd be a tall order to expect every movie to have a different title. You'd definitely run out of titles fairly quickly - unless the titles got increasingly bizarre.
@@miked1869 NO IT ISN'T! (heavy breathing subsides) ...no it isn't.
LoL
I'd settle for increasingly bizarre titles any day, they're more likely to linger in your mind.
So this is going to be a horror film with undertones exploring the horrors of dementia and other age related ailments I think
Fuck me. You must have taken your clever pill on that day 9 months ago!
@@jnn1981 so i was right?

yes
this movie is actually a feature length version of Alter's Creswick. The director made the short horror (which is pretty amazing..) and then after winning awards Hollywood wanted to make a full movie. Just like they did with Light's Out. check out the original story here: czcams.com/video/quOkFWCKSxw/video.html
It is sad ending, and touch. How they accompany grandma to the end. I take care of my grandma, her dementia getting worse after grandpa die. It is tired, it is stressful but i love her so much. One day, in the morning she left me and join grandpa. She was smile after her die.
