You’re amazing and sooo thorough!!
Aw thank you so much! :)
Thank you so much for this information.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for sharing your research
Thank you for watching! :)
This was soooo interesting! Thank you!! :-)
Thank you!! :)
That was a top-notch, solid video. You are very articulate and you’ve done your research. It was easy to listen to you and understand what you are talking about. Currently going thru a massive outburst of acne since starting B12 recently. I believe it’s the cause. My last B12 test (over a year ago) said my levels were way too high. And I remember I was dealing with bad cystic acne around then too. Only amoxicillin would work to calm it down. Now with learning about the bacteria, it makes total sense.
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me. I'm sorry you've had to deal with that! Have you seen any improvement since?
Vegan Miche yes! Very much. I stopped all forms of b vitamins and it didn’t take more than a couple of days to see an improvement. It took a month or so for it to mostly clear up. I still have alittle acne but that’s cause I still have hyperinsulinemia caused by a tumor and also SIBO that I’m battling. It’s never just one issue unfortunately. But I’m glad I got one thing taken care of.
I'm noticing exactly the same thing for myself! I am a vegan dietitian so discovering the science on this in the last few weeks has been fascinating :)
It's such an unexpected source of issues isn't it? That's awesome! :)
Wooooww. I started having popcorn with nutritional yeast every night and broke out sooo bad! I had no idea. Thankyou sooo muuuch for this video ❤️
Oh no! Glad I could help though :) Luckily there are some brands of nutritional yeast that don't have much B12, like Trader Joe's!
That was very useful, this is exactly what I was looking for. B12 was making me look old and puffy. I was taking a lot. As soon as I stopped my skin cleared up and my puffy eyes got better. A big difference.
I'm so happy this was useful for you! That's so interesting, I hadn't heard of that as a side effect but I'm not surprised if it could cause that. I'm glad it cleared up for you!
I hope this will help me! My skin cleared up partly after stopping my multi vitamin but I always assumed it would have been due to the zinc.. I might take my b12 supplement a few times a week and see if that helps. Any way, this was so interesting thank you so much!! Xx
I hope so too, let me know if you see any results! :) That definitely sounds like it could have been reduction in B12 causing it to clear partly, because zinc has been shown to help with acne. (I actually take a separate zinc supplement)
Thank you for watching!!
Thank you for that video. I got big pimples on my back when i was supplementing with multivitamines including B12. Few years ago i contacted the manufacturer and showed him this very study. He said acne only appears on 1/10 of people in the study and for high doses. But according to your review of the study, he doesn't take into effect regular intake of B12 and p.acneis activities changes.
I tried taking multivitamin supplement again and i got a sty on the eye after few days.
Only person in the universe talking about this.. thanks a lot..
It is a niche topic huh! My pleasure :)
@@MichePhD keep making videos on niche topics 😉😘
Miche, one thing I noticed was that Methylcobalamin does not bring me acnes, whereas a cyanocobalamin, even in small doses, does.
Interesting point, it is possible that the different types would modulate the bacteria differently! I went back to the methods section of the paper, and they used hydroxocobalamin injections.
Lucas Freitas de Godoi what dose b12 do you take ??? Thanks!
@@angelforlife2008 so, I've taken 5mcg's, 10mcg's, 100mcg's and even 1000 and 2000 mcg's.
I regretted bitterly. Why? Because I am a person capable of absorbing vitamin b12 very well. I felt many side effects. I found some anecdotal references correlating a lot of vitamin B12 with little intracellular potassium. I do not know if that is the case ... But I know that I was able to get the serum level close to 1000pg/ml just taking 100mcg's Methylcobalamin.
@@MichePhD Miche, what dose do you take now?
@@Lucas-xp7nm i am taking methylcobalamin tablets
i am getting acne
should i worry
I have been vegetarian for over a year now. Because I am eating eggs, milk and cheese I thought I wouldn't need any B12 supplementation, but a couple of months ago I started taking 1000u of B12 a day as everyone was warning me that it was dangerous having low b12 levels, I had a blood test recently and comes up that now I am have and over supplementation but also A LOT of acne, on my back, neck and side face. I m 25 and I never had that acne before not even when I was a teenager. This video really help me to relate b12 with acne and I will stop taking it and just try to take b12 from other sources.
I'm so glad this could be helpful! Have things improved for you?
What is the best grams for each day ..thanks
Hey, I've had an acne breakout after taking Vit B12 supplements for around 3 weeks - I've stopped taking them for just over a week now but still getting new pimples 😔 how long after you stopped taking the supplements did it take for your skin to return to normal (for you)?
3 weeks for me.
Finally someone talked about it! I took vitamin b12 tablets and my skin started to breakout💔 till now im trying to heal it, it’s better now but im still suffering from acne even after cutting the vitamin, im so upset cuz my skin was looking so nice and clear before💔
how long since you last took it? has your skin got better now?
@@Sophschannel_ i stopped it for almost a year now, my skin totally cleared up, it was a hard experience with acne, but unfortunately my deficiency became worst 💔
@@noornn1480 hey how are you supplementing with b12 now? What dosage and form are you taking
I need some help!😰😰😰
I took vitamin B12 supplements for 7 month. The first month I didn’t see any worsening , but after two month my skin got more and more pimples.
Now I have acne on my forhead and chin.
So I stopped taking any vitamin b12 two weeks ago.
But nothing changed. I got still NEW pimples here and there.
How long did it take to get clear skin? Should I see any difference or should I wait?
I doubt the whole bacteria theory, because I get acne from b1, b6 and b7 as well. And although my b12 blood level is very high, I get acne only during oral supplementation. It doesn't make sense. For injections try the hydroxocobalaminacetate, at least in my case I don't have problems with this type of b12, when it is injected.
This is so relevant to what I am going through. I have normal skin and break out once in a while.. ( and eat meat veggies and etc) so after getting two shots of b12 my skin went crazy with acne on my forehead back and shoulders ... I am looking for a way to lower my B12 now and cut dairy and meat from my diet. Is there is something else I can do to reverse this and make my acne clear up?
B12 is water soluble, so drinking more water may help. Also, vitamin C can interfere with absorbing it, so eating sources of vitamin C with your meals may help too.
@@mrsMaddyxqueen yes I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed me antibiotics after two months of taking them my skin went back to normal.
For me, I notice a couple of cystic type bumps after taking a b 12 supplement. If I get b 12 from unsweetened soy milk or food, it doesn’t cause acne...so I think it’s just the supplements for me. I want to eat 100% plantbased...or close to it, so I’m counting on soy milk and nutritional yeast to keep my levels up...and may have salmon occasionally. It really does stink though because all the plantbased doctors just say eat all plants, just take a b 12 supplement and you’ll be fine...I wish it was that easy. It’s just not working out for me.
So and what can i do if i am deficient in b12 and break out with supplements?how to tackle it?
That definitely sounds like a tough situation--priority #1 is definitely getting back up to healthy levels of B12, but it might be worth experimenting with different kinds of B12 (methylcobalamin, cyanocobalamin, hydroxocobalamin, etc.) in case one of them doesn't break you out. After you get your levels back up, you won't need to take as much on a daily basis to maintain it.
my doctor said at age 36 i should be taking B12, daily vitamin, and vitamin D3. i started taking all 3. and my WHOLE forehead started breaking out SO BAD. really BIG cystic acne that took 3 weeks to go down 🤦🏾♀️. i stopped and now my skin is back clear 🥺🥺. i want to start back the daily vitamin and D3 but im scared smh.
I took shots for b12 n also taking supplements for the last 3 weeks ,wat I could see that i have started developing acne on my face on back too..should I stop taking the supplements, will it be helping to reduce the acne, can you please suggest?
Get it tested and drop your dose. I got acne to from it. Just eat fish and adjust your diet, that's the best way. These supplements wasted money, always start with your diet.
Is it possible that you get acne with b12 shots even when you're deficit in b12?
Hi! I am b12 deficient so badly that when I don’t inject it twice a week I will end up in an wheelchair.. so it’s impossible for me to stop with the injections. Do you know anything that helps me getting rid of the acne ?? Thanks
Hi :-) Did you find a solution that worked for you?
I too got severe acne after taking 5 shots of b 12 supplement . Trust me it takes lot of patience to clear the acne. For me it took nearly 1.5 months to get the clear skin from severe acne without dark spots .
Step 1 : take an appointment with dermatologist and get acne soap or facewash with benzoyl peroxide and with tea tree oil ,For me doctor had prescribed me binora acne bar
Step2: dermatologist prescribed cylindamycin topical gel for 10 days . It cleared every acne
Step 3 : take b 12 shots and once you recieved your shots ,stop taking your supplement tablets and maintain the level through food by taking fortified food and south Indian raagi kanchi , egg , chicken take less intake of dairy and dairy product.
Step4 : prepare home based neem toner , multani metti facepack, cucumber juice ice cube .
Step5: for dark spots - rice powder ice cubes on face or potato and lemon and cucumber juice ice cubes on face.
Go to parlour and do facial which reduces acne
Step 6 : be calm if I can clear my b 12 acne u too can clear it but it take a minimum.one month to clear
Does acne goes away after stopping taking B12 pills?? I'm using 2000mcg every day for 60 days now and my face is full of acne since first week..
If its caused by the pills, then it should.
mine did. i was taking 3000mcg B12. soon as i stopped, my skin cleared up in 3 weeks
This video helps me a lot to realized to consider that one of the cause of my acne breakouts was my multivitamins and vitamin b complex. After taking this supplemens for 7 months because of my medication for my health condition I noticed that i got acne breakouts and cause my skin more sensitive, way back last year i have clear skin especially on my face. Seems should consider this to stop taking that supplements for my a while. Thanks for sharing this video.
I'm glad it could help! I would recommend making sure you still get enough vitamins without it though, being deficient is definitely worse than acne.
Did your acne go away??😁
I have personal experience after I take vitamin B 12 for one month I got acne on my face
For me what causes more acne: B12, biotin!!! and linseed oil and maybe even probiotics which are not vegan type.
I also got two big acne after taking two shots I don't have that before ☹️
I had never acne problem. But I have acne breakout after taking Vitamin B12 supplements on my forehead and the area below neck :(
hey, did it go away ? If yes, how long did it take please ? I might be facing the same issue
@@dead5724 hey how's your acne now and how are you supplementing?
Did it go away?
Been vegan for 5 months and been taking vitamin b12 for 4 months. I have just started developing acne since two weeks ago. I am taking 2500mcg daily.
May I ask could taking vitamin b12 every other day instead of daily help?
I heard once a week supplement is enough
@@solarfairyspirit thank you 🙏
i was taking 3000mcg and my skin went CRAZY !! smh i jus stopped taking it all together
Just found this video after trying to figure out what was causing my adult acne. I have been taking a multivitamin that contains 500mcg of B12. According to the bottle that’s 20833% of daily value. Over twenty thousand. That’s not a typo. I’m stopping immediately. Thank you for this information
I'm so happy to hear this could be helpful! I hope things improve for you.
Hey did you stop? How are you supplementing now? I am also getting acne due to supplements
I totally stopped. Acne cleared up. Multivitamins are a scam.
Also, try adapalene….game changer for me. My face have never looked so good
@@launchpadmcquack4971 thanks for the reply . Are you getting b12 through food? Its a imp vitamin and also am vegan
Hey how are you supplementing for b12 now?
I take a multivitamin, that's it.
@@MichePhD hey thanks for the reply . can I know the name of the multivitamin you take ? What dosage or form of b12 it has . Its not causing acne to you?
I noticed that in my sister (vegan). The doctor told her that her b12 was high. I told her to stick with the supplement but to take it easy with the oat milk and the nutritional yeast. She did and her skin cleared up in a few weeks.
Oh that's great news! I found a kind of nutritional yeast that has very little B12 (Trader Joe's)--if she still wants to be able to have it, it might be worth finding a low-B12 kind.
What is Fopobiacne Secrets and how does it work? I hear a lot of people get rid of their acne problem with this popular acne remedy.
Will you be my wife? You're so beautiful & VEGAN!!!! WAAAHHH
Does Fopobiacne Secrets really work? I notice a lot of people keep on talking about Fopobiacne Secrets. But Im not sure if it's good enough to get rid of your acne problem.
