I have been a HUGE baseball fan my whole life, and collected baseball cards since I was 9 years old, but anyone who shells out that kind of money for this product has more money than common sense.

@@trashpanda3146 If you play with casino promo dollars at either FanDuel or Draftkings you actually have a chance. I owe the IRS taxes on winnings of $3K for 2023. The house edge on Ultimate Texas Holdem is only about 2.2% with perfect strategy so with a 10% bonus (Fan Duel gives $10 on $100 deposit or $20 on $200 in bets almost every day)- you actually have an advantage. Still I wouldn't recommend gambling or opening $750 packs of baseball cards. Peace.

These boxes weren't meant to be 750 a piece. Most don't sell very well on the secondary market either. At 350 or 400 it kinda makes sense. Don't touch it for any more than that.

What Topps and Panini are doing with card box prices is almost criminal. It's insane to me that a box of cards is $700. Just dumb. Especially when you almost never get your investment back. Topps just stealing money from collector's.
I love watching these rips because there is no way I would be able to afford these boxes. Even if I could, I know I am a value collector, collecting in team specific niches and the value is never there for me. I can buy a lot of cool cards that I want for $2000+ instead of trying for the lottery ticket of a player I probably don't even pc - JMHO.

Gilded are some really nice cards but these boxes were some of the worse I’ve seen. Appreciate Brendan for buying these so we all can enjoy watching them be open but I feel bad for him. Hoping jabs throws in something nice for you

I love these cards. Most beautiful chrome cards IMO. No way in Hades I'm paying $750 a box for this. This should be $250-350 a box tops. My 10 year old lamented the amount of bada** singles he could buy for $750. I would have ranked this in the bottom half of the top 40 countdown.

Beautiful cards. I would offer 15 for the Ozzie. Those thick cards are rancid. 750, down to 15 isn't bad. I would offer 30 for the 2nd box. 20 for last. I wouldn't even want those thick card autos.
I have to say, the odds on these high price cards seem to be worse than state lotto scratchers.

Ahahahahaha, yet another product that turns your hard earned cash into a losing proposition. I’m getting sick of seeing these way overpriced products that just don’t have a positive return. I just wish the hobby would finally catch on demand lower priced products or more return on your investment.

It's part of his countdown. I blame dave and adams and other reseller retailers doubling the price of such a garbage product. To hell with supply and demand.
Gone are the glory days of sportscard collecting, before grading became a thing, the hobby turned into gambling, and people thought it was normal to pay astronomical prices for prospects and poor condition vintage cards. When this gets over, there's going to be a whole lot of collectors out of a lot of money. I think that guys like Jabs and Sportscards Investor will be doing just fine, though. They are smart and worked hard to get their CZcams channels monetized. I doubt there's many sportscards in their portfolios, except maybe legit investments like Mantles, Jordans, etc. You know, proven players ;) So, go ahead and crack that 8k box of cards. I'll rest just fine with my Roth IRA, knowing I'll have a pot to piss in when I'm old and gray.

Another "For Breakers Only" style box courtesy of Topps. Nobody should be paying $750 or even $400 for these for a personal box. If breakers are selling teams for $20-$25 a spot (based off the MSRP with a $100 profit per box), then it MIGHT be worth the gamble. I am sure most would go hitless on these anyway. Either way, it's just another unnecessary product from them.
