R107 Mercedes M110 engine - reinstalling thermostat, water pump, harmonic balancer+torque specs

This is a detailed video, showing how to install the thermostat housing, water pump housing and harmonic balancer onto to the Mercedes M110 engine in our 1975 R107 280SL. The video shows what sealant and gaskets to use, what lubricants to use, and the various torque specs. To ensure no rust in the future, all the hose clamps and hardware have been replaced with the correct rated stainless steel fittings. Here are the sizes of the nuts, bolts, washers and screws:

AirCon rad to frame (bottom screws) (x2) - No.14 (6.3mm) x 3/4 inch (19mm) Self Tapping Hex Bolts (DIN 7976C)
AirCon rad brackets to frame bolts (x4) - M5 x 14mm Full Thread Hexagon Bolts (DIN 933)(A2)

Thanks - was just about to test everything when I realised the previous owner had stripped the threads on the engine block where the bracket which holds the metal heater matrix pipe screws into....no shortage of content with this car! Mike

Ouch, sorry to hear it. This is a true labour of love. It is worth it though. Once done, the sense of satisfaction will outweigh the frustrations.
