  • I have been getting used to my shiver over the past few weeks, and dare I say it, I am actually liking it. As much as I would like a Yamaha MT-09 or a Ducati 821 Monster, I think I may settle for this bike.
Let me know what you think??
Thanks, and please like & subscribe

Hello, i really like your verdict.
I own the 2018 version since 10/2018 :) as I am rather short with my 5.7ft and have done about 5000km on it a 7h trip included. I'd like to add a couple small things to your review :)
Yes it is heavy but taking a look at the adjustable suspension it is well worth it.
The factory setting on the rear was extremely hard on mine (spring and shock is adjustable) I do not have butt troubles as long as I can stay below 5h of riding it constantly. (after adjustment, alsow the heavyness on low speed stuff has gotten better)..
Top heavy It is indeed, I was lucky to fetch a LiFePo Battery as the thing is mounted pretty high up changing the battery really helped on the low speed stuff... I guess changing for a lighter exhaust will eliminate it completely :)
I meanwhile apply the rear brake if I need to "taxi" at really low speeds.... Helps to keep it stable.
I really love the ride on it and the feeling of all the switches.... In fact I chose the Shiver above the gsx-r750 after testing both because the shivers suspension (with that unfitting setup) felt nicer to me then the suzi..
Just got new tires and can't wait for the sun to come out. Some good tires (S21s on kine) really really transform the bike - I seriously was not expecting such a jump in feeling coming from the factory tires... But it's night and day... The front feels way more stable.... In fact I dialed the suspension a touch more to the hard and fast side on he front after I switched to the S21s.... Stock felt wiredly soft on those....
    Great Bike 👌

Hi, nice video. Seemed like a very honest feedback to me, thanks for that. Im considering to get the Shiver 900 in 1 or 2 months. Im 6,1f so i think i might get along with the weight after a while as long as i get a good flat foot stand. It would be my first bike, so im excited for this one. Keep up your work :)

Yes, now I’ve owned this bike for 6 months I would definitely recommend it.. the top weight is something you will need to get used to so take it steady at first (if you do buy it) but it feels really solid and planted.
      I love mine now
Good luck on your purchase, maybe come back and let me know what you decide?

I bought my aprilia shiver last year 900 but limited 45kw a2 permit - similar experience. 6ft rider. tried to do some menuevers like I did in training but they were not as easy as with a cb500. Lots of positives for me - well equipped suspension and computer, competitive price, super stable on highway (I added small windscreen puig rafeal which helps to divert some wind), cornering is good -feels solid and predictable, brakes are really good, power is good even on a2 and can be changed to full when I move to full licence .
Downsides - fuel guage - none, heat from exhaust when stopped in heavy summer traffic the exhaust running under the seat is hot at one point I looked to see if anyone modded the exhaust lower near the swingarm (this becomes a positive in cooler months) and its head turning loud >>> some love this but when I downshift in town I can feel and see the heads turning, it is a little bit imposing weight wise and technically - its not a bike that you think of as fun or lighthearted it takes a little more commitment. I planned to more highway rides so it is great - you don't get the feeling of being pushed around by the wind, but if I was doing more town or city riding I would go something lighter and more agile like 401, 701, mt 07, sv650

Welcome back. Seems like You've been away for longer than 4 weeks.
Anyway, I'm glad You are liking the Shiver more. When I was hunting for my new bike a few weeks ago, they had a brand new Shiver in the shop and it actually looked a lot nicer in the flesh. Funnily enough, I thought of You as soon as I saw it, and wondered if You still had it. I didn't try it or anything, but it did look pretty sweet.

Hi, I have ridden from smaller Cc to bigger Cc bikes. From 1 cylinders to 4 cylinders then to 3 cylinders, I am currently eyeing on v twins. There is a Shiver 900 sitting around my agent and most of the majority of the bikers here are inclined towards the bigger brothers. Currently using Triumph STR 675, and I compared based on specs that my ride is currently better. But of course I would like to hear some advice if I do change from a 3 cylinder to a twin. I am quite interested in the Shiver 900. What are the expectations and the disappointments.

Just wondering have you had any major issues with the Shiver..?

Hey, congrats on buying one, I can honestly say you should love it. It took a while to grow on me, but I love riding it now and its a keeper!. Ive had no issues from the first mile, so has been faultless. There was a recall, so you could ask the shop, its to do with the brake line and its a visual check, so ask them if they know about it.
Yes the weight is a little nerve racking, but 2000 miles in, and it doesn't phased me anymore!
Good luck, and enjoy and ride safe!

Out of those I would 100% go for the MT07, the shiver turned out to be too heavy, big and bulky and very unsettling to ride. It’s not a bike I would ever ride again, so I would steer clear of it unfortunately. I sold the bike to my friend who is a stronger guy than me, and he doesn’t enjoy riding it also. It a shame as it has potential, but it’s just too heavy. Also ride the MT09, another cracking bike, I’ve done a video on that.

Have had no problems - but the aprilia and ducati are technical bikes. Keep them correctly serviced and they go well. They are also not the type of bikes that you service yourself - I rebuilt and restored a dt125 but I would be reluctant to change the fluids myself on the shiver - beyond the fact that it is under warranty everything is very complicated from the custom cooling hoses to even accessing the cooling fluid. Also spoke to an independent mechanic garage dealing all brands - not an aprilia dealer and he said that they are actually good bikes - saying that his mechanic has a 900 dosuduro (same engine)and clocked 60,000km and has no problems.

Why buy a 900 cc Aprilia and poodle around at 40 mph......
What's with most vloggers , powerful bike coasting along at speeds you could easily do on a 125 cc.
If you don't like wind or bit or discomfort
buy a maxi scooter ,it will certainly go faster than you in this video....

Sorry.. been a while since I produced this video, what makes you think I poodle around at 40mph on powerful bikes?? Also can you point out where I said I don’t like wind or discomfort.. did you even watch the video?

      @janschkeuditz6065 Před 3 lety +2

@@MultiMb77 Yes I did watch the video, hoping it would be a bit positive given its racing heritage .
Even if Aprilia has decided to make an affordable bike.
Most vloggers are riding like idiots in and out of traffic such as London ,over the limit just hoping the guy eating his toast and slurping his tea foes not pull over.
Others are on long straight roads plodding along never above 80 mph.
Then there are the others who think every bike should be a flat out racer.
Mist ramble on about wind noise ,vibration , potholes.....
Maybe most just need a convertible car like a Z4.
As for poodleing around most UK vloggers are on busy roads doing 40 mph until they hit the motorway.
So what is the point in a fast powerful bike, the Misenden flyer or whatever or moto bob are prime examples of this type of review .
      Horses for courses I suppose.
You just need the right machine that suits your needs and riding ability linked to riding conditions of course .
      Thanks for the reply ....

    • @MultiMb77
      @MultiMb77  Před 3 lety

Jan Schkeuditz I am not sure about others,, but from my POV you can’t record a video and try and do a review when enjoying the bike and roads.. I need to actually concentrate on vloggng and what I am saying so I ride slower and plod along as I am trying to talk and remember what I am saying..
when enjoying the bike and the roads I never try and vlog as I then concentrate on what I am doing.
So in this case what the viewer is seeing isn’t a riding video.. it’s a vlogging video... when I owned this bike, I had amazing fun.. it’s was great.. It was my first bike so had amazing fun learning how to ride. Now I have the tuono, and that will be sold soon for a street fighter.. again any video I decide to produce on that will come across as I am just plodding.. it’s not representative of how I usually ride.. I hope that explains 👍💜

The point I was making is that you do not need an expensive machine to poodle along at 40 mph or to dart in and out of traffic that is doing between 5 and 15 mph....
A 125 cc or a maxi scooter can do that job . The later being able to carry a weeks shopping under the seat.
I do not really come across many people on powerful bikes that have a great deal of ability on twisties up and down hills and narrow roads .
I live near the Ardenes ,motorbike country especially at week ends .....
