  • Hey Squad! Today I'm riding down to the smoothie shop on my new Aprilia Shiver 900 getting used to it's seemingly endless well of available power. I'll be practicing a couple of 0-60mph runs to see how quickly I can go.
    After making this video, I looked up the record 0-60mph run on this bike and it came in at 3.2 seconds. That's super car fast! I'm no Rossi though, so I'll be practicing my launch like a normal person haha!
    I'll be sharing my thoughts on the direction I see this channel taking, as well as trying out different points of view with my GoPro Fusion. As always, feel free to comment with any tips, tricks, or criticisms you have.
    I hope you enjoy! Like and subscribe for future content :)

    Exactly the video I needed! I've always been curious about bikes whether I should learn to ride or not. I can say that you helped me make my decision. I'M ALL IN! thanks for the genuine commentary

    Hmmmm interesting. I'm going to buy one of these so I can limit my RC51 to a restoration project. I've been riding vtwins for years. I forget what it's like to learn. Great video! It made me smile. I remembered the first ride I had on my '07 R1. Coming from a 600...whoa.... Feeling each engine pulse. I'm glad you're having fun!

    If you think the Shiver 900 is quick try a Tuono V4. Or maybe, don't. And one thing about bikes in general is that you filter through stopped traffic to end up in front of the pack. You don't need to stop behind cars. You might as well drive a car.

    I have this same bike now for a year and I still have issues getting it into neutral. Just a tip if you havent found it already. You can change the RPM limit of the lights on top of the dash. Factory setting i believe is set to 6500 RPMs which is mostly for the run in period. After you can set it higher in menu

    Great vid. How's the wind blast on the freeway? Is it hitting you on the chest area or helmet area?

    good video but you have to learn to switch gears and you do not need to embay to accelerate strongly just in the first gear then you spend the rest on the fly otherwise you'll screw up your clutch but it's a good bike I have the same

      justfab motors glad you enjoyed! Yeah, a lot of learning to do to be as fast as I can be. I’ve been practicing a little more and I’m starting to see what you mean. I can get to 60 relatively quickly without going into 4-5th gear. I can get to 60 in second if I let it fly like you said. Not sure what “embay” means.

      @@shockmoto4269 I think he was talking about your clutch reving while shifting up, you need to let the clutch go after shifting.

    If you want a bit more lower end torque you can put a 15t front sprocket ⚙️ like the Dorsoduro 900 has. Also, with Aprilia Shiver and Dorsoduro transmissions need to be forceful with the shifter

  • @WStar4Life
    @WStar4Life Před 4 lety

    I got the Dorsoduro 900. Basically the same but dropped a tooth in the front sprocket so it more aggressive down low and easier to hoon. Also has longer travel suspension and higher seat height. Can see over everything except big trucks

      Shock Moto I love it. Had the Dorsoduro 750 that was totaled few years ago when I was cut off. Finally got the 900 when it was on sale almost half off. Definitely needs an aftermarket exhaust though

    Set your redline indicator to 9500 so the lights above the TFT match your actual redline. It will help you get better at shifting but honestly you’ll get used to it eventually. Also, watch Motorcyclist Magazine’s video on clutchless shifting. When accelerating flat out you can literally just let off the throttle for a split second and up shift without using the clutch.

    Set your rev limiter later and take it judt over 8k revs. 6-8k revs is where the V twin has the real torque... red lining it for a few milliseconds each gear really slows you down
