Hi Saun! I just wanted to say thank you! You are why I started collecting. I have learned so much from you and do every day. I check for your videos daily. You are truly a wonderful resource for us beginners, and you make it so clear. You are needed in this hobby and please don't ever stop. All of your vides helo. You are my top authority along with JB Coins in second. You have eliminated all the other silver channels for me. Yours is the only one I need. Thank you so much for introducing me to this wonderful hobby and please never stop! God bless you! It takes a special talent to do these videos as well and as clear and fun as you do.
Hello, I've been researching this 1953 wheat penny. I happen to get on from change back. I have found that there's so many values for this coin. How can I truly find out how much the penny is really worth. Thank you.
I would start with coin grading vids: PCGS Grading Circulated Coins (the short one that just deals with circulated ones...has better highlights of the areas) it goes thru all the grades, with some general info and w/ Barber Halfs as examples...and then Coin Study has one on wheat cents, but not as many grades...then take the knowledge you get over to PCGS photograde and step thru the grades and try to match your coin to the photos and the descriptions of the grades from the vids...then i would go to Numismedia FMV website and see what a dealer would sell that grade to you for (read the fine print there to get a feel for where they get their price data from and what thier values mean). there are so many values for every coin because price guides are just that--guides. they are compiled from different sets of data, and are updated at different times--the Red Book is printed once a year and by the time the book hits the sales shelf, the prices are already somewhat old due to the time lag on putting a book out. if you can get some one to show you a Grey Sheet, that shows what dealers pay rather than sell at, I believe for 3rd party graded coins, so they can buy sight unseen. the only absolute value for any coin is whatever you actually sell it for, but you can get an estimate...a "plain vanilla" 1953 cent (no varieties or errors) that is not in a high grade shouldn't be worth too much :(
The Cherrypickers' Guide to Rare Die Varieties of United States Coins are over 500 bucks!! just for the 1 book. That's crazy... A new person is not going to spend that $$.
I do not care for 2 x 2's. Prefer non PVC coin capsules and saflips. And then store in non-PVC plastic food storage bags that are kept in plastic bins. Album filler pages are pretty good as long as you avoid those made from China which tend to be made with PVC plastic that is known to harm coins. The best are Air-Tite capsules with the band to absorb sulfur and other gases that may cause damage or odd toning to a coin. But I save those for more expensive coins or those with some sentimental value. Snap-downs are good alternative to coin capsules.
I had a lot of coins wrapped up in paper towels never do that it will change the color of your coins some of them look pretty cool but it messed up like a hundred different coins I don't know if they were worth anything or not I just save stuff and don't get a chance to look at
Hi Shaun I am your recent subscriber. I am glad I stumbled upon your site. We opened our stepdad's safe today and found a lot (I mean a lot!) of coins that dated all the way back to 1881. He is now 83 yrs old and these coins were collected by his mom. How do I contact you pls?
Hi folks, quick question: on 1982 penny copper zinc video, the two penny holders that are shown are exactly what I need. Where can I find the edge holders? And what are they called? Okay, 2 slow typed questions. :) Thanks Jeff
Did you say we could buy all of those resources for $150, I cant find the cherrypickers guide for less that $150 by itself. Help please. I appreciate your shows.
Thanks for this video. I'm just getting started, and this is very helpful in figuring out how I would want to store coins. I'm more interested in the history and having nice examples of things rather than complete runs and filling every possible spot in the folder.
I have multiples of the State quarter's which I will trade for some I don't have, if the trade is fair I also collect sports and fun cards that I can trade This trade can also involve rookie cards of players in no the 2018 and 2019 baseball cards. They are Topps chrome baseball cards and chronicles baseball cards. I have some autos, but not many to take to the Bank, so to speak (laugh!).
Still want to know where did you get that new 2018 Maple leaf coin? It looks like a proof coin with deep camio. The ones I see being sold on ebay and other sights look different. when held close they have tiny lines going across coin but the one you show does not show that
Hello how much for the first fancy book with the 2 x 2 sheets ? Plus the coin pack & lit clear squar case ? Also price for the lit magnifying 🔍 Thank u . God bless.
I know one thing. If this world goes completely to a all "CASHLESS SYSTEM" then you can see every collector including the common collector's coins will be worth over a 100X its value.
Sorry but I have had those blue Whitman folders corrode a collection of Lincoln cents and barber nickels that I had stored in them. Not sure if they have changed their ink or materials they use now but the older ones really do a number on coins. I don't think I would trust any coin folder after this.
I'm new to all this, and I must say it is overwhelming for my puny brain, haha. How does the Red Book differ form the Blue Book? I just saw a different video of someone saying the Blue book was a must. Thank you.
I have a 1972 penny with VERY strange errors, the back is 2 toned, the metal is darker and dull only on a strip on the building and on either side of the strip it is raised and shiny copper. Any ideas if it's worth anything?
this is what I love about coin collecting it's only as expensive as you make it. you can be the guy who only collects what you get in change or you can be the guy who buys the $1000 scarface Morgans in slabs.
I have a 2008 d penny that all the copper clad is bubbled up and coming off,do you have an email that I can send pics maybe you could tell me is it a error The coin is not to beat up except where copper is coming up or off
Love the video! Very informative for newbies n old timers. Didn't see a scale. Cherrypickers is a must. Morgan Dollar book was cool. Don't have any unfortunately, but I'd like to get that book some day. And a Morgan coin of course. 👍👊
I wish every piece totaled $100 to $150... the cherry pickers books alone I cant find for less than that on amazon. Local book stores are closed for covid. Guess the expensive books on amazon is the way to go
Should you buff the coins or leave them the way they are? I found your channel and have been watching you short videos and digging around in my coins to some of the one's you have shown. Have a great one. I sent a picture of a coin to your email address to see what you think. I found one you showed on one of your short videos.
I'm a novice. I have always liked collecting coins and some unfortunate circumstances. I want to sell my pennue collection how can I sell and get maximum amount for my pennies. I seen on your show that I have several. High grades coins. So t&ats why I'm asking you .plz. I'm in ddsprete need of cash. Thank yoy
Hello, I think i found an error/variety on the 2005 Oregon quarter. How can I contact you or verify if it is? I can't find it on any websites or youtube videos.
I got a severely miss printed 2021 philly Delaware quarter the front side looks chewed up all the way around the edge and the back side is so light stamped in areas it's just the outline of the figure with no detail inside at all ,people in boat is just a smooth blob where it says crossing the Delaware the oss in crossing is barely visible the word the is not visible except for a light e and the word Delaware only the D part of an E the last half of the w and then the R and E are visible ! The word quarter is there but barely readable because of done slash like marks through the first half of word I'm not sure how I could send pics there's no option in the comments section?
Hey there! I love your videos. Thank you for all you do. I had a question about a 1945 nickel. It sounds fake when I flick it. could it be fake? I could send a video of the sound of you want. Thank you!
@ LINUX users / hackers ; I Looked at the Microscopes, and, the Low end ones do have a few iffy reviews. HOWEVER, this one says it has Confirmed LINUX PC support !!!! AND the manual Capture / Image button is "capacitive" , meaning , you just touch it you don't have to click it. It's name is "Plugable USB 2.0 Digital Microscope with Flexible Arm Observation Stand for Windows, Mac, Linux (2MP, 250x Magnification)" on the giant website retailer , 4m4z0n DOT com. Further, since this has Linux support, it is very, very, likely supported by PYTHON (via open source LIB) , and, also via Wordpress plugin IF YOU know how to Administrate your own SERVER on a "Raspberry Pi" .
Heyy Mann I have a penny that’s made in 2021 i found in my washer can you tell me About it there’s no ridges on the rim and the back part got washed off and it’s like just really curious if you can tell if it’s a fake or if there’s something more to it

Yeah. I bought my 2018 Red Book at Barnes and Noble in the late summer of 2017 😂
It comes out the same way the new car and trucks do.
I'd like you to look at a 1922 silver dollar and see what you think
