How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a CZcams channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.
I like your videos because it looks like we're doing the driving. I haven't driven a tractor in 10 yrs.
Great Video Ryan, Good to see the batwing doing it's stuff, thanks for sharing
That was an abrupt stop for the dog. Good to see Rocket riding.
Wow can't believe u have had that brush mower since 2016 I still remember when it came on the farm hard to believe I've been following u for all those years toke flies
Nice video Ryan, great drone footage as always!!
Best drone footage of the agri channels.
Super nice view of the field towards the end of the video.
That was therapeutic to watch!
Great camera work Ryan! As always!
As a former landscape biz owner and growing up on a farm, I would mow the thistle and spray them as soon as I could. They have a waxy coating and the weed killer will work best in my opinion. If they put out regrowth, it takes a heavier dose to kill them completely
Nice way to cover a lot of ground, way better than the old 5 foot gyro mowers from years ago. Hope you're doing good.
Those mowers are so much fun. I love running it when we go to the farm
Nice job of mowing the highway ditches. Our county sprays in May and don’t mow until October. I mow along our property about once a month so you can see if there’s any deer hiding in the ditches.
It's just great to see when thorn bushes or thistles get destroyed😁👍
Nice video👍👍
gotta burn the thorn bushes. usually only takes one or two years of burning them in the spring while theyre dormant.
I've had good luck when they aren't thick with bottle of Tordon in one hand and pruning shears in the other. Of course when they are still small.
You need you a set of clamp on duels if you have some step ground then you can go around it sideways with no problems we use a 3255 four wheel drive with duels on it here in Kentucky we have some ground the goats don’t climb hahaha just kidding but we have some really different ground with step hills so we put the fuel on and we go right around them it makes it faster when you can go around them that way you don’t spend all your time turning around when you go up and down plus some places when you do go up or down with out the duels on while you’re turning you would turn the tractor keep up the good work and stay safe
Dad would mow the pastures a couple of times in the summer. this was to keep the burdocks, crabapple and thistles down
Having front wheel assist makes sidehill mowing a bit easier...I have mowed slopes with just 2 wheel drive and it was REAL interesting...a little pressure on the uphill brake helps some too...great video as usual...
Did a lot of mowing in high school with an old Ford 621 and a 3 point brush hog. I did a lot of steering with the brakes on hills.
Hey Ryan great video nice to see rocket in the tractor
Great Video, I always looked forward to knocking down thistles in the pasture!
Some of these areas look like could be used to expand the hay fields now that have the equipment to easily clean them up. A step beyond thistle control. Based on how the herd has expanded its been something to see the volume of hay needed for the Winter and some that is sold off.
Great video Ryan, that sure made it look a lot better 👍
Enjoy the video Ryan specialy the drone video love it .
I'd rather be a chicken than tip the tractor. The pucker factor is something I always respect and nope out when it happens. 😆
Satisfying job Ryan. Its all progress. 👍
Great job Ryan and Rocket👌👍🙏😎
I’ve done hay cutting on a very hilly part of the farm by us with two wheel drive tractor thank god it has oh s**t handles ! 😄. Looks great excellent video 👍🏾
Mowing slopes make roller coasters seem kinda boring! 😅 Hit those woody briars with triclopyr and 2,4,D. You will see improvement the first year. Great video!
Thanks Ryan this video was so satisfying for my ocd. Lol.
Pretty cool video of ya mowing grass especially them hills....
Hey Ryan!!
It’s a never ending job lol
thank you
Even more drastic action needed to stop the brush taking over even more.
Looks good Ryan.
awsome video ryan thumbs up and shared
Wow just another day on the farm❤❤❤ it'll be good for cows or eventually
Topper of a video 😂.. stay safe 🏴
Maybe try a Forrest mower, but only if you knew someone that has one... it would b slower but maybe let u get closer to roots.
Great video
Satisfying
You need to collaborate with the mendota ranch CZcams channel and get some of the brush buster paint ball's this spring and paint Ball weed killer them if that product will work it shoud it kills scrub ceader trees....
Cut them off and come back the next day and spray them and will get them every time
I'd soak those this with 24d as soon as the leaves come back on them.
Good content. 👍
Have you ever thought about adding meat goats to your operation? Goat meat is in high demand and you have lots of forage areas to maximize profitability
Hey Ryan. Where has Hannah been lately
She was in the last video
Hey Ryan have you ever mowed your lawn with the bat wing mower?
best way is to burn. cheaper and easier. safer then chemicals, more effective then mowing and spraying. and better for your soil.
класс !!! из Оренбурга
cool
How high was the cut in this video?
FYI: it's never a safe thing to pick up a hitchhiker!
🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Hey Ryan, Yes if you don't stay on it ground grows up fast. We just have to stay on it. Take care, take it Easy and Trust JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!
First
I hope corn prices recover after another contract cancelation by the noble chinese biden business partners. Good luck with the moisture and heat as needed. Pastures look like fareways after cleanup.
If you grazed right, you wouldn't have to spray, keep poisoning your land 😂 channel sgould he called "How not to farm"
I'm not dealing with goats to get rid of thorn brush.
Kind suggestion. Seriously doenst come from any mean place. You gotta think through the intro's to your videos more. 20% of your content is talking at the start. A bit of rambling. Thinking through your intro and keeping it succinct and getting to the task at hand would make the content much more enjoyable. Not saying be quiet, just saying i usually have to skip 2+ mins to get to what the video is about.
