DAY IN THE LIFE: $6,100 in 48 hours as a cargo van owner operator #4

- Hey Everyone! This was the best 48 hours that I have ever had since starting my cargo van shipping business. I know that it is so hard to believe that I truly made this amount of money but it really is possible when you leave the dispatchers and work directly with the companies that are shipping things. I also stated that we will no longer being offering mentorship program that I have previously spoken about. Instead, we are going to be offering a $5 a month discord program that also comes with a comprehensive PDF of how I got to where I am today with my business. If you are interested in the discord please DM me on instagram. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

That’s huge man. Private shippers is the way to go. The only thing I will say is please stress that this is not the norm in the game. This happens maybe once in a blue moon. Other wise we are just contributing to the over saturation of the industry. 90% or more of people who get in the game will never see rates like this. I’m glad you got it but with great influence comes great responsibility
I appreciate the comment, and I have been posting more videos about it stating that its not easy to get money like nor is it the usual but this client I did work for used to give me a job about 2 times a month. This was the longest one by far and it is less rare down in Florida cause they are located in PA. But I totally get what you’re saying and will continue to express that its not the norm. My push with this stuff is for people that do this to get the direct clients. I know that you have had good luck on the road but me and my 2 buddies have not and we just work on personal clients cause they have always paid us $2+ per mile. Stay safe out there and hope to meet with you in Sarasota eventually!
@@adamdaymonI am in California about to start a cargo van business what is the best dispatcher company I can use
That is a sick load man! Congratulations! You got a good plug with that company 😊
Bingo, coming from a broker of 7 years this man is speaking facts... Dont be scared to get on the phone or go in person and build a relationship with these customers directly.. especially if you can land some dedicated quarterly bids staying busy youll be making good money.
Great video, young man! I’ve been preaching about being your own boss & working directly with the customers for a long time. Make that flo! 👊🏼
Appreciate it!! People don’t believe that the money is real but they only know the dispatch and broker world! Direct customer pay so much better and are much easier to work with!
@@adamdaymonquestion…how much would you charge the customer IF there is no broker or carrier in between, cutting them out, how much would charge per mile??
New sub. I love brothers that put that work in being their own boss. Good content bro 💪🏾
Real appreciate it man! Have an awesome day!
Good for you young man. keep me posted. I am ready to start in my 67th year lol
Nice loads. Got one criticism you and all other van drivers need to hear though. STOP TAKING TRUCK PARKING SPOTS. There are currently around 2 million more trucks on the road than there are spots for us. You guys have a much wider range of places to park, so stop taking our spots.
Direct Freight Approach very smart
I live in Western KY and I can see myself doing this.
Great run 🚐💨
Yes it was! Thanks man!
Bro your inspiration keep grinding
Dude this means a lot! I really appreciate it!!
@@adamdaymon oooh bro your content means more ....no problem you'll personally know me one day boss thru this business 💯 😎 keep climbing
That's crazy,I lived in Lancaster,PA when I was younger. Lived about 10min walk from the mall lol
Small world! My first apartment was right by the mall!
Me (sneezing) BS!! After the first snd only minute watched of the video. 😂😂
Stay blessed 🙌 any one around Chicago area
You still have your mat great, got mine without a mat and there on back order.
Love the mat
Love your videos. I’m sure everyone asks, but I need help finding these jobs. I really want to get into this business but I can’t calculate everything without even seeing any jobs in general
I’m getting into the business I’m in Georgia definitely would appreciate tips and learning the ins and outs
Start with checking out my video on how to start a cargo van business. We are also launching discord access soon where me and my team will help you build
Congrats man, it's a great feeling 2 know this. I just started with a 2023 promaster 159wb ext high. Literally only a week in. Hopefully bump into u on road
Thanks Jay! Hard work and dedication is all it takes. Just keep networking and dont stop until you get those direct clients. Stay safe out there and maybe ill cya on the road!
How has it been ?? Honestly trying to start up
Come on and kick it in Nashville!!! You won't regret it.😅
What companies
Amazing
I live in Tampa Florida and am a owner operator. Would love to talk to you about how to find these jobs!
If you can bypass dispatch and brokers, rates are huge. I am in process of getting my dot# and mc# .. the real money lies in getting your own authority. Opens up loads of opportunity no pun intended. Lol..
For sure. If you have a new DOT # then load boards will ignore you for awhile. But getting it so you can operate directly with shippers is a game changer
HI, can you elaborate on Insurance for your van and what is the costs and what insurance companies are you with, etc?
Nice that’s what I’m talking about . Thank god I’m not the only one making this type of money lol direct shippers mines r from warehouses, thou
Hell yeah brother what stuff do you typically ship?
Bro great video but for that kind of money I would have just got a hotel room got some food showered up slept in a warm bed or a cool air conditioner or whatever
New Sub here! Thanks for the info.
Of course I appreciate the sub!
That last drop off look like the rust map off COD. Lol
Where do you find these jobs sir? Love this approach
I work in trucking and want to move over to a sprinter van. Owner operator. I've always found my own lands for the truck using load board sites. How is it done for sprinter vans? Tired of the big truck.
Are there sites?
I didn't know that it could be so lucrative
I love driving at night!
I need a new dispatch service or load board with no dot/mc number any recommendations
Sounds like you could afford to idle that A/C. I would sleep my ass off then bring it home. With that payday, you can take your time/a day or two of R&R.
So you come back empty? And do you get that amount each week?that's a far trip but 1x per week not too bad.
🎉🎉🎉
A. How do you sleep in a hot, hot van? Is there an AC device for a van?
B. How do you stay awake for 24 hours without medicating yourself?
C. What is that black object stuck to your windshield around the center of your field of vision?
Do we need apps to get clients for your load???
What is the wheel base of your Promaster? Did you buy a new van or used, I have been looking at the 159" wheel base. That would give me 12" of length, could load 3 48x48 pallets. Any thoughts on what van to buy that would be much appreciated.
I have the 2500 159 wb high roof and being able to fit 3 pallets is really nice, if you can afford new i would go with that but i went with certified pre owned and had 70k miles on it, im at 240k now in 2.5 years lol
I’m in Birmingham Al been in business 3 months still learning this. Looking for more insight into getting a good route and logistics company.
Look on indeed I found a lot of them on there. Good luck be safe out there brother 💪🏾
Do you need to run a log book even though your driving a van
ok i see you in georgia
You are about an hours away from me am from ky
What size van are you using
Nice Video, I sub to alot of you cargo van guys in hopes to start my own pretty soon, Any good load boards?
That’s awesome Joe! I don’t really use load boards but rather try and get direct clients by going to business parks
@@adamdaymonOh never thought of that pretty go stat, Thank you sir
Just brought a van what app can I use to bet on ?
What llod bord u use
what do you do if your van breaks down or there's an accident during delivery? How do you get the freight to the destination ?
Fortunately I haven’t had that happen but if you are working with a dispatcher they will probably send out another driver but if you are working on your own like I mainly do then I would rent another vehicle or call another friend to help out
Keep the newest equipment you possibly can. I wouldn’t hang on to a van that had 150,000+ miles. Keep it FRESH!!!Daymon ain’t gonna like this part but a RAM Promaster is the LAST van I would own. Chrysler products are the LEAST reliable. I will wager his next van will be a Ford Transit or a Mercedes.
Hey i got my own cargo van I just need help finding a contract
I live in Venice, FL and I want to start my business sooo badly. How's the market in Florida right now?
Market isn’t anything great when it comes to the load boards or apps. My best luck has been coming with direct clients. I have been going to businesses parks to network and hand out business cards.
But Love's and other truck stops are starting to eliminate the parking for us over the road van drivers. I realy don't understand way as we do the same thing as a truck driver dose in the semi.
Some places are starting to charge us for overnight parking wich is BS.
We see the same long roads and hours as they do so we need to sleep to, remember we all keep America moving wether your driving a semi, box truck or a van.
Your cabin sounds much quieter than mine while driving, don't you just hate when a pump fights you.
I think my camera just does a good job dimming the noise cause it sounds loud to me lol and yes it is so annoying 😂
Are u hiring people to drive for you I’m looking for a job like this as well I’m in California
good move man florida over pa i'm a semi driver i wanna stay local with van business what ya think
Florida over PA all day lol and I would totally recommend doing a local courier company as well as building your own clients. Local has always paid me more per mile than otr. Im going to be posting a new video this weekend about some new businesses im getting into. Feel free to dm me on instagram and we can chat some more! Have a great day!
How can I get this job I am from kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪
write on your video some numbers and cities and maps to explain more and your videos b more beautiful and understood
Careful running interstate loads without an authority brother!
I appreciate it! I have been mislead up until this point but me and my business partner just got our own authority. We were covered under the dispatchs we were with but now we are covered on our own!
If a driver transports an animal, vehicle or other personal property in interstate commerce in a vehicle or vehicle combination with a GVWR, GVW, GCWR, or GCW (whichever is greater) of less than 10,001 pounds, is the driver required to use an ELD?
Guidance: No. A driver who transports an animal, vehicle or other personal property in interstate commerce in a vehicle or vehicle combination with a GVWR, GVW, GCWR, or GCW (whichever is greater) of less than 10,001 pounds, is not subject to the FMCSRs and therefore not required to use an ELD.
Unless they change it. I’ve drove to Florida, Maine, and Virginia without it.
@@TONYYAH12 that's personal property though. We're talking about "for hire". If you get paid to transport across state lines you're supposed to have an authority.
He doesn't need an authority if its less than 10k...
Hey bro is it possible to see a breakdown of your rate sheet
It's cap bro....aint nobody paying $4 a mile....
Unfortunately noone is showing their rate cons.. It shows too much personal information.
How is Cargo Van in Miami Florida? I'm moving from St Louis Mo to Doral Florida?
The market is hard all around but not not gonna lie it’s been slow here. I know there area you are going to has decent local work though. The Miami area is pretty busy!
I love the Amish country
Are you allowed to travel with another person? Like spouse?
Yes! Its your business take anyone or any pet you want!
so what up brother I'm from Kansas City I have a cargo van but it’s not much in here to survive can you hook me up with those customers that you have I know you don’t know me or anything but a little bit help cool thanks take care
HMMMMM it sounds too Good to be true, show me the invoice!
Money is out there but you have to work for it! #entrepreneur #owneroperator #cargovan #vanlife

do you use a factoring company?
Not currently but my buddy does
I only asked cause I heard you say you were waiting on your payout
Hey where can I find these personal clients . I’m in Philadelphia
Go to business parks and call companies that make cabinets, flooring, solar etc.
Get on the phone or go in person.
Vc agrega van ??
Who pays $4.50 per mile for a cargo van? That is four times the current rate.
My customer lol if you look at it round trip its like 2.25 which is actually what most companies pay but you dont see those rates cause the brokers and dispatchers are thieves and take a large cut leaving the drivers with bad rates
Not normal if it’s true it’s once in a game
It normal with your own authority and direct customers. Unfortunately for me the customers I had only shipped everything few months so I started focusing on my karate school more. But my business partner gets more consistency up north and has more customers. Averages 2-2.50 a mile. Just did a run from Lancaster PA to NYC and back for 2k. same customer i did this run for. Dont let shitty brokers and carriers take all your money. Get your authority and get direct customers.
Hey what load board are you on
He isn’t lol
He just said he works directly with the customer..
What do you mean by "Ghetto?"
Wassup bro put me on I am base out of Atlanta
Let's eat bro
We are working on getting things out soon to help people build their business!
which app
The $700 run home was empire loads
@@adamdaymon what
You don’t need a DOT/MC for OTR?
No sir, I am under 10,000lbs grvw
@@adamdaymonincorrect. You need Mc and dot to transport over state lines. Unless you are running under a carrier. Please don’t think you can do this by cutting corners. If you get pulled over hauling freight over state lines without authority you can get in trouble.
@@ExpeditingAmerica wait now Im confused because I just googled stuff from FMCSA and it talks about the vehicles being over 10,001 lbs needing it but doesn’t say it’s needed for under.
@@adamdaymon Although you are under 10,001 lbs, when travelling across state lines AND being "For-Hire", you need an MC #. www.fmcsa.dot.gov/faq/what-operating-authority-mc-number-and-who-needs-it
@@adamdaymonanything under 10k you don’t need mc or dot number. Wouldn’t hurt to have it but you don’t need it.
How you doing my brother my name Ryan I’m from Harrisburg Pa you rate down the street from me I would like to connect with you on conversation
Hey man! Unfortunately I moved to Florida in July.
Stop Capping For Some Views 😂
Not cap but appreciate the comment and view. Have an awesome day!
Why would he stop this cap?!?! This is the best cap I have ever experienced..im quiting day job yesterday!😂
Appreciate the comment but its not cap. I posted all the proof on my shorts and tiktok. If you dont want to believe me thats fine, i know i made the money and wouldn’t waste my time lying. Have a great day!
Broker are thieves
This type of work is just not worth it. health becomes worse in 2 years very bad 👎
