Electric pace & looked like he could be a real top player but can't help thinking wasted talent. Never improved technically. No left foot, couldn't head the ball & awareness was never there. Also the headlines about spit-roasting girls in Ayia Napa with Rio & Lampard made me despise uneducated, wealthy footballers who were so detached from working class fans.

Anyway, doesn’t Dyer sound like David Beckham? Are they from the same place?

Shearer won nothing at Newcastle, lack of ambition. Players should respect the manager.

    • @hiddensword9387

So? Newcastle still got to two consecutive FA Cup finals and finished runners up in the league when they were up against the might Manchester United and Arsenal sides. Shearer had plenty of ambition that's why he signed for them. The manager didn't respect the player it works both ways in a professional environment. Ruud's lack of ambition or ambition cost him.

Shearer cared about playing for his boyhood club and living his dream, how many people can ever say they did that in their life?

When you think your status is above the club, then respect is not deserved

Your absolutely right. Shearer maybe a scoring hero for Newcastle but an absolute prick. I am from Canada and i saw him outside a night club in Toronto. Was so excited to say hi to him and shake his hand but he seemed more like a cocaine head waiting for his fix and totally disregarded my jubilation as a fan. I have no respect for Alan Shearer as a person.

Thats why he failed as a manager. Players aren't alway the same, they arent all the same standard. A good coach recognises this and plays to their players strengths and improves them
