I have to say not being a computer person, I really never understood the computer cable and had no idea that’s all it would take to fix the pins. I thought it was totally destroyed. One of the best videos that I have seen.

hi can we also fix camera ribbion cable this way ??? i broke my camera ribbon when i was trying to fix it
dont feel bad just noticed i broke my harman kardon aura speaker after being so proud of fixing the membranes I realized I broke a ribbon cable when opening it ... sadddd the cable is so small I don't have space for the repair.
Count the pins and get a replacement cable off Amazon or somewhere, write the keyword n pin FFC Cable. Keep in mind to check the pitch of the cable as well. 0.5mm would mean the two pins will have a distance of 0.5mm between them, you can measure that manually and get the right fit for you.

@@_moviespot_ No, but I learned I could just buy a new cable on ebay for few dollars. They sell them in all sizes and lengths.
It's the one that was already at the end. You can see at 0:16 the other end where it have not been removed. You just remove it from the end you have to work on, and clean it before put it back. But anyway, it's just a thin plastic stripe, you can make one from any product packaging that is close about thickness and strenght. But this technic is the very last ressort, the metalic stripes are not held by anything when you remove the plastic on top of them, they are just metalic stripes in sandwich between to layers of plastic.
If not found anywhere... You can use a piece of xray or a plastic bottle (not a thicker one) or some other semi soft plastic
I screwed up today
I repaired ot 2 times previously but today i cut ot 3 times. I'll try again tomorrow to scratch the paint to expose the contact points
