HELLO SWITZERLAND!!! This is perhaps the world’s most expensive country… so I wanted to challenge myself and see how fast I could spend $1,000 by doing normal tourist activities. That means eating at normal restaurants, sleeping at normal hotels, and visiting normal sights. Can you guess how many hours my $1,000 lasted? Hint: less than 24!
I just want to say that Switzerland is a great country - so pristine and beautiful - l and I hope to be back here again very soon!

Have you ever been to Switzerland? What do you think of the country?!
I wanna go there it seems like a peaceful place with nice people
I live here, lovely & beautiful country, quite expensive indeed. Had a happy childhood growing up here. The Swiss are usually a bit hard to get their trust & appear cold but once you have it, you almost certainly can count on a lifetime friend. 🇨🇭
@@cnnewyam sound like my city in germany
I’ve been to Switzerland but I only saw some mountainus roads but it seemes like a nice place, I hope to go back there someday
Good country for white people with money . You're judged with respect to what you wear , men also wear jewellery (chains , expensive watches and rings ), there is a bit of snobbish high headedness . I have been there on a business trip for a company which makes chocolates and process coffee(don't want to take the name but you probably guessed it ) , don't want to visit again .
I wouldn't say the sticker is to drive legally, it allows you to use the highway for an entire year. You don't pay tolls in Switzerland, so if you are a resident, it's quite cheap.
But he does have a point that you will get a fine if you drive without one, thus making it illegal, right? But yeah it's not too bad. You just have to remember it when you cross Switzerland. Here in the Netherlands there is no tolls (except for a few highway tunnels in 'Old' Zealand). We do however pay a fee for every road using vehicle that you own. This will pay for the road maintenance, but also for services like getting you off the highway to a safe spot when you are stranded. All the best!
@@EliasLabordus you get a fine if you drive without the sticker only if you're driving on the highway, on regular streets you dont need it
Hey Drew! It's great to see that you're in Switzerland. I am a French and Argentinean living in Basel. You're more than welcome here, I can give you a tour around, its a greta city for museums and has a great vibe... People swim on the Rhein now, and it's for free. Besides thiz Friday 19.08 there is a free jazz festival and on Saturday 20 the Basel parade. Looking forward!

As a Southeast Asian, it is absolutely shocking how a serving of Thai Food cost 60 DOLLARS. At that amount of money you could literally survive for months here.
60 dollars for food 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
hmm it‘s probably only that expensive cuz it‘s at the festival. I live in Zurich and spend between 15-25 CHF for thai food. Which would be 30-50 for 2 people. But yeah still hella expensive
That $60 is close to $100 in my currency (NZD) there's a Thai food truck around the corner from my place for $15 a meal, I could get 6 meals out of the same money.
My country is often regarded as one of the most expensive in the world, it may be expensive for you but minimum wage is $21.20nzd
Yes it's expensive but at least the workers get paid a fair living wage to support themselves, even when taking into account the cost of living of Switzerland
I live in switzerland I pay around 22- 30fr for the meal depending if its duck, beef or chicken.

Meh, this was just for the views/clicks and he tapped right into the stereotypes in order to get there. Switzerland isn't cheap but it is way better than SF or NYC or any of those places.
and that capuccino for 30 bucks, c´mon, what a lie
Surely there are decent hotels out there in Switzerland that won't set you back 350 USD for a night.
Switzerland might the world's most expensive country, but it certainly is a beautiful country with nice landscapes and things to see and do! I'd definitely go there! 🇨🇭 🇨🇭 🇨🇭

@@highspeedrailenjoyer1045 what’s the problem?
Love Drew's videos but some of these prices are misleading. Switzerland is definitely expensive but not this expensive. A cappuccino at a restaurant for example costs around CHF 5, not $30. Thai street food would not cost $60. My guess would be around $15 per person.
Seems just slightly more expensive than German restaurant prices, are you sure?
confirmed!
@@ranzschwein42 yep that's quite true :) it's not that expensive i
Can confirm, I live here.
Edit: the cappucino could cost you up to 12 CHF depending on where you get it. But then you're at luxury hotels.
Yes totally misleading. Also it depends where in Switzerland you are; if you buy a small coffee in Zurich you will pay about CHF 4.5/5.0 but if you take the same coffee in Lugano or Locarno you may pay max. CHF 2.5
When people ask us how do we afford to travel, what they don’t realize is that it’s cheaper for us to travel than to stay home. 😅
It's the same as when I, as an Austrian, travel to Greece for 2 weeks. It costs about the same to spend 2 weeks in Greece as living at home, but in Greece we eat out twice a day.

I have lived in oman its not expensive its average
Yes and it’s relative too isn’t it? If you’re making a Swiss salary then you’re good to go living here.
Uae isnt really expensive u can get a meal for 20 dhs it’s like 5$
Lol Oman most expensive lol
UAE and Oman aren’t that expensive, having cheap gas makes others stuff cheaper, I went to Italy and France and they’re more expensive than the UAE and Oman
This is how most countries feel when traveling to America. It all depends on the value of your currency
actually it doesnt depend on the value of a currency. South korea has an incredibly weak currency 1$ = 1200 KRW and it is still very expensive. 1 jordanian rial is equal to 1.41$ but jordan is a very cheap country. it's about how rich the country is. the average swiss salary is 5.400$/month and 14.9% of the swiss population are millionaires. everything will be more expensive when everyone is rich.
@@DBV-iu1qw that's not what value means 😂
Why? America is fairly cheap.
It's not just a matter of currency. America is cheaper than in most Western countries. I'm Canadian and our currency is lower than the US dollar, but products here are more expensive than in the US even after conversion.
Now this is the comment 💯

As a swiss living in this beautiful country, I gotta say that you did not choose the cheapest places. I bet you could easily have spent half of this money by choosing less touristic restaurant/hotels :). For a night spent in an hotel I would have paid ~150$ and 60$ for your two sandwiches (whole meal)
But nice video anyway, thank you ! Cheers :)

Hey Drew u should visit Leysin for once, it’s a nice village in the canton of Vaud under the 3 peaks of Berneuse, Tour de ai and Tour de Mayen
Switzerland is super expensive, wow.
I was visiting Basel and my friends renting a small apt there and it's like 700 franks or something the renting seemed quite affordable honestly
And one tram ride to Germany for quick grocery shopping haha
Oh yeah yeah and definitely don't go to restaurants u gotta cook for urself

What does $1,000 get you in Switzerland? A coffee. That's it.
The first step to successful investing is figuring
out your goals and risk tolerance - either on your own or with the help of a Financial Advisor. If you can get the facts about savings and investing with a well detailed plan, you should be able to gain financial security over the years and enjoy the benefits of managing your income.
I think the pandemic have really taught
people the importance of multiple streams
of income, unfortunately having a job
doesn't mean security.
Successful people don't become wealthy
overnight. What most people see as a
lance wealth, a great career and luxury is a
result of smart work.
It's not how much money you save in the
bank, but how much money you earn and
how hard it works for you. Money devalue
over time, investment is the best option as it
grows over time
@@eddiejohn8506 I think the key thing here is working with a
professional. Yes people have devoted their
lives to making profits in the market, but
those of us who haven't but are interested in
investing can simply work with them.
@@hoshifuyo4494 Alright, so you know anyone?
