- Today I'll be spending 24 hours in one of the World's Most Expensive and Exclusive towns in the world - Gstaad. How much money did I spend? Is there anything to do on a budget at this ski resort city?

It's always amazing watching how inaccurate Ben's clothes are to the weather 😂
😭😩😩
@@benmorris no problem Ben you are too cute to be criticised 💖
Totally. Google the weather please
did you mean inadequate?
brits walk in shorts during winter, they are broken
I actually lived and worked in this town and it is so nice to live there. No one really cares about the famous and rich people who live there. And I think this is what they like so much about this town. Everyone is treated the same there.
So I`m glad you enjoyed it there!
I think Switzerland in general. Nobody gives a f about you, lol.
Thanks for that perspective. Very interesting.
"Everyone is treated the same" stop lying.
@@DieTryingK 😂😂😂😂😂
@@DieTryingK She is talking about the local workforce and the billionaires.
Yes, if you take your ugly poor face there, you won't be treated the same

Greetings from Switzerland!
Fun fact: you can literally drink out of nearly every fountain in Switzerland (even if it says not drinkable) because of the high quality standards!
D:
Fellow Swiss here, when he said “how to let everyone know ur not Swiss” because he drank from the fountain, I just thought I always drink from the fountains when I’m around and I’m use other Swiss do it too.
Fun fact from a Engineer with a water background living in Switzerland.
That’s bullshit… even the drinkable tab water in de north, has in a few regions a very high amount of Hormons in it from the farming industry.
So in general the water quality is good but if they put a sign on it “no drinking water” I would not even give it to my dog.
@@Avarage.Joe-David yikes. That sounds scary. Is there a reason the government hasn't done anything about it (like lobbyists or something)
@@googleuser7454 a Country needs a strong Agriculture and Switzerland wants to remain as independent as possible from the countries around it. Therefore, as much staple food as possible should be grown in Switzerland. so the government doesn't really have a problem there, it even tolerates it.
I live in Austria and as you might know we have icy snowy streets pretty often just like Switzerland. Kudos to your mountain climbing skills that would have made me sweat a lot despite being accustomed to slippery roads. It always gets so much more terrifying when there's a fair amount of gradient involved.
OIDAAAAAA

I live in Geneva, as anywhere cost of living looks different for tourists and residents. With time you adapt and find multiple ways to minimize costs. Many great things are actually for free or quite affordable.
For example, the district I live (Grand Saconnex) sets up an ice skating ring every year which is free. You only need to rent ice skating shoes if you don’t have them for 5 franks, you can use them whole day. There is music, food and wine very affordable. And there are plenty of such things to enjoy. I love Switzerland!
I love you❤😅
This man goes through great lengths to entertain us,
He certainly has my respect
Yes, he literally goes on vacation
This brings back memories! I'm just a mere mortal but I was lucky enough to get a fully paid trip to Gstaad and stayed in the Gstaad Palace about ten years ago. My home for five days was a was a lovely room with a view of the mountain slopes. It was unforgettable. The Swiss wine was just fantastic, as well.
Wife and I drove to Aspen and it was a similar experience.
I will say that I think these places target the middle class more than you might expect- everyone wants a small taste of the billionaire lifestyle and these places are happy to accommodate with their $14 orange juice and $25 sandwiches.
Gstaad is to small to mess around with middle class.
I'd say this is more Kitzbühel
There's only so much money any business can make off billionaires...except for like yacht manufacturers.
That's just your regular non chain café prices in any European metro area. Wouldn't blink at those prices at all. They have gone up so much since before c19. But what are they going to do? Places close down left and right and every produce is more expensive.
there is something so comforting about watching your videos hah ive just discovered your channel and cant stop watching. Hope to see you in Poland again, as youve just been to Wroclaw
25k likes and I’ll go back and stay in the Gstaad Palace Hotel 🤝🏼
not seen you in years, W guy

I would love to watch this, 25k here we come
Same same but different 0:57 the interview😂😂

This is top tier and Ben tries super hard to entertaining us and does a very good job
45mins before flight leaves, still has time to buy food... meanwhile I'm at the airport 6 hours in advance shaking with fear as to if I can make it to WH Smith and not miss my flight 😆
Used to teach skiing in Gstaad, such fantastic friendly locals. Really enjoyed my time there.
Switzerland is expensive as hell but it is all top quality stuff
not always tho
Another top tier video - appreciate the immense effort put into your videos! Big up
I’ve recently discovered your channel, and I love these types of travel vlogs! Very entertaining! 😊
I love Switzerland! I went there over winter too, I’m from NZ so it was a long way from home but yes it’s expensive but one place I didn’t mind as it was so worth it! I loved it! Especially the alps and the amazing food and yes the chocolate haha
As someone from Switzerland (having lived here all my life) , New Zealand is my absolute dream holiday destination.
Funny how we take the things we are used to for granted sometimes
Oh my gosh, watching you drive at night in snowy weather (and along a cliff!) make me super anxious; I can't imagine what your mom felt watching this!
So glad you made it in the snow bru!!! Nice job!!! Thank you for posting this amazing trip!!!
This video was SO FANTASTIC and entertaining, Ben! I am continuing to watch more of your videos because they are just so good!
Coming from a chef, generally having storebought mince burgers medium is a health hazzard due to it being ground raw, but in many resturaunts what we usually do is get the meat and sear the outside and then chop the seared bits off so it reveals the raw meat inside and then we mince it. This is due to the bacteria only being on the surface as storebought minced hasnt been cooked immediately the bacteria is all over it but when its freshly ground and immediately cooked it is perfectly safe.
i love the way you film and edit its so easy to pay attention to
There is nothing inherently original about the type of videos that you re making, but your whole mindset and energy somehow make them incredibly addictive.
Anyone else think this ben morris guy is so underrated? 🔥💯
Decent content nothing extraordinary
not even
Obviously
Not on levels as Simon Wilson but still decent
Your Snapchat is underrated
Mr. Morris, thanks for the content you give us, you really inspire me to do more in my life so a special thanks honestly . (You are my favorite CZcamsr).
I appreciate that so much!!
You're welcome man and thanks for replying
Great vid. How nice to be able to leave your bag unattended and return to find it still there. Try that in the UK.
Great video Ben! Hoping for this one to blow up!
Awesome story telling! Loved your videos.
As a Canadian the snowy driving is pretty average after a bit of snowfall looking to me, that’d just be like snow tire driving (so no chains) but yeah if you’re not used to it I can understand why you’d be a little nervous or feel like you might lose control. It’s definitely the kind of driving conditions that has a bit of a learning curve and even life long Canadians always seem to forget how to drive in it the first time is snows😅
This guy is one of the best youtubers. I just found him out and he is great. Keep up the good work.
Great video as always❤. Keep up the good work!
really enjoyed this video, keep it up Ben
Worked at a ski resort in Montana, U.S where the cheapest house you could find would run you $5mill USD and the most expensive would be exceptionally more. We weren't allowed to take photos inside the properties. The owners would rent these properties for as much as $25k a night to other rich people. Rich people airbnbs basically lol.
Sounds like big sky/ Yellowstone club hahaha
@@JosephcByler lol that is because that is where I am referring to.

Great video Ben! I love Switzerland 🇨🇭!❤
Hey Ben, every time I watch your vlogs it makes me so happy, your content is amazing and your character is amazing too, keep up the great content, have a great new year, faz from the UK, Derby :)
Hey Ben, you should spend a night at the Khangri Resort which is in the Himalayas with views of Mt. Everest. Please tell me if you choose to do so because I would be stoked.
Thank you for supporting Morocco in the game. It is unfortunate we did not make it. And, nice video of the most expensive place in the world. Amazing. Subbed.
Great content always lad
Hey Ben. Wheelchair user here. As someone who is scared of travelling due to inaccessibility I’d love for you to do a “wheelchair user’s perspective” video!
@@_benmorris2 yeah, no idea how to do that. Isn’t it only the monarch who telegrams?
If you can spend tons of money it is easy traveling with a wheelchair.
During winter season and alone in a wheelchair I would not recommend Switzerland alpes.
It is either uphill or downhill there.
I believe in you! Go out and do the videos yourself and we will be watching you soon!
Generally one of the best youtubers out there that's why I've been subbed for so long because even though he doesn't upload that frequently when he does its a banger
Was interesting to watch! Good editing!
keep uploading ben i really love this vid and i am considering visiting Gstaad
That is so Swiss “did you see my message”. That’s just how they are. They’re very direct to them it’s not being rude. It’s only because they care I had to remind myself that for six months while living there.
As a Swiss, I can confirm that we are helpful but not necessarily friendly, we do what we have to to and that’s it.
This is a really interesting experience. Because as a German living in Switzerland I have quite often the situation that Swiss people can not handle my direct german behavior. They usually absolute politely, friendly and really nice people. But direct is the last word I would use to describe them 😂😊
@@Avarage.Joe-Davidyeah still depends on the person
@@Avarage.Joe-Davidyour absolutely right
It's funny to see tourists in my home country. 😊 It's also a nice reminder as to how pretty our country is and that we shouldn't take it for granted.
Also BTW in Switzerland water fountains that can't be drank from has to by law be labelled.
Man I gotta tell you this for a very long time, I'm glad I got suggested by CZcams after a Very Very Long Time.. I'm super into your contents man.. you're just unique and super fricking Genius content creator, I Love your vids man ❤️ Hope this year be a one hell of a blast and we got the 1M soon 🔥 Lezz gooo
Great vlog! Loved It

my favourite CZcamsr by far your content is so interesting, keep it up!
I love your Salewa fleece sweater! My grandpa used to wear these and now I wear them (his old ones), so comfy and lovely (vintage) style. :D
I live in Colorado and that driving with ice and curves and hills and cliffs is very relatable right now 😳 so much snow lately.
I’m in Alberta so same mountain range but north and i feeeel
There’s one thing about Switzerland,if you’re ready to spend money on dining it always gonna be great. Always
Love your videos. I am from Berne and I often go skiing to Gstaad. However as the city is too low, they significally loose snow mass. Therefore Gstaad will have a big problem in the future.
Omg no way you came to my town Geneva! So funny seeing it in your video!! 😂😍 It is super expensive, you're right 😭😭
bens editing is top tier
another banger
came across your video, and I couldn't stop watching, thanks for sharing with the world
I’m from Alaska and there’s a little winter resort town called Girdwood(we go year round but it’s great for skiers and snowboarders) it’s gorgeous but crazy expensive!
That snow driving would have properly stressed me out. I like your confidence that things will always work out.
Just watched 5 of your videos in a row, so so cool to be surprised with a brand new one just now. :)
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
We have snow for almost 6 months, watching this video made me more appreciative of living in a cold country like Canada I thought billionaires only like tropical n warm countries !!!
Fun to watch your videos Ben 👍😍🌈
Just found your channel and will now commence binge watching all of them😁♥️
As a canadian seeing you struggle to drive in this small quantity of snow was hilarious
I live in Gstadt and it’s so beautiful
Great viedo, thanks!
Top tier video again. One of the best content creators out there. Keep doing these types of videos pls
that mike guy who owned the shop seemed like a class act.
Everyday when Ben Morris uploads always a banger
It reminds me of Aspen. The town is unapologetically geared toward the upper middle and upper class, but you can enjoy yourself there if you go in expecting vacation pricing. The billionaires are nearby, but in their secluded and gated retreats. You won't *typically* see them around town.
Quality video as usual mate
As a canadian, I did laugh a little watching you drive up these snowy roads because that is nothing compared to what we deal with here. 😂 BUT next time, I suggest you to rent an AWD SUV or some sort of 4x4, it'll be much more easier and safer. 😌 great video btw. such an awesome town.
Well, at least you balanced out the enormous expense of just being in Gstaad by flying Easyjet and renting a SEAT.
Always providing the entertainment 😊
01:06 NO !, London stops when it snows because it is designed for only overcast however in other places EG: north east and west England cope with the snow very well !
the burger medium vs well done - as minced beef can come from any part of the animal ie can come from a part w bacteria etc its best to cook it thru, unlike a steak which obv the innermost parts will have never seen the light of day
depends on the quality of the meat, which is mostly very very high in Switzerland :)
It would be cool if there is a summary or list With your costs at the End of the video 👍🏼
This was a very fun vlog to watch.💯
Happy new year ben x
Btw I’m not over the limit driving back home, there was 3 hours and a meal between each wine glass!
i was just about to ask hahah
really? Ive been there once and didnt even know it was so expensive.... all my costs were cover by the client.... but it was very very very nice. that hotel in the video has some amazing mountain views from the terrace.
Subbed to you a couple days ago really enjoying your content m8👏👏

@@benmorris thanks man made my day :)
great video, as always
As a man who went to Switzerland before, I understand why this video was a cash-grab!! I went to bern and it was SOOOOO FANCY!!! There were entire macaron stores!! I wen to one and bought a single macaron for $20!!|
😂😂 why?
If you want macarons you go to France and get them there. Or at least next to the boarder.
+ I can’t believe you, bern is a affordable city compared to the city’s in the north like Zürich. So I would think 5-8 CHF for a really fancy filled macaron.
bern is actually pretty alternative (exept the diplomatic aerias), and you get a whole box of macarons for 20CHF, we call them Luembugerli and they are a bit different to the ones in france, fancy but it's a treat, not an every day thing
£25 for a burger and fries is not uncommon here in Bermuda 🇧🇲 😅
For me only the alcohol mostly shocked me and even how they place their merchandise. Things over a million place in unprotected glass that could be broken with a lazy stone throw :D.
@@samuelkundael3503
That is the best thing about Switzerland. Nobody would steal in a shop as they can afford to buy their things.
Most relaxed people in the world.
You could not escape with one super expensive bottle anyway. It is all narrow streets and uphill, downhill and curvy.
The police would stop you on car or by foot and most likely you would fall and brake the bottle.
Wonderful journey. Gstaad is a an amazing place.
The ground beef they used for the burger was probably treated with UV light to kill any bacteria, making it safe to order medium. There’s a few restaurants around me that use ground beef like that too.
