@@humbertoferreira8856 hi, i did not upgrade the bios, because when i bought the laptop it had already this cpu, i think that you could find the latest version of the bios (the mobo is the Acer JV50) in the internet. (Sorry for my bad english, im italian). Specs are: Core 2 Duo T9600, mobo Acer JV50, 8gb DDR2, geforce g105m. The bios is Phoenix.
Actually love the modular design of these old laptops and the fact you could just swap out the CPU like that, I have a Dell G5 SE it's not as painful to open but CPU/GPU soldered on the board :/
There are in fact a lot of great Aspires which are modular but there you only have to take of a plate at the bottom. This one is just crap though, it reminds me a lot of HPs.
In the start I was thinking wow these old laptops were modular and were robust nice removable keyboard it's great for the user but in reality it's actually terribly designed

О прикольно, я таким ноутбуком пользуюсь и сейчас, после апгрейда до Т9800 и 8 гигабайт оперативной памяти + ссд . Интернет сёрфинг, работа в офисных приложениях, играю в старые игры, отлично для этого подходит
Still have one, pretty fast on Windows 7. Wish there was a screen replacement avaliable where ilive though :( Was previously my mothers laptop, and i was thinking of giving it back if i can fix it (all she does is facebook
That laptop has a sub model attached to 5720. For anyone to help they need the full model number. Is the GPU a modular card on the laptop or directly soldered to the motherboard? If it is directly soldered you are better off buying a replacement motherboard unless you have the specialized machines to remove a chip and add a chip to the motherboard.
If you can can answer me that will be halpful. Which 2 ram sticks are you using in this. And how much maximum ram and which ones can be installed in this .
Dobrá práce. Přemýšlím o zrychlení notebooku ASPIRE 5738/5338, Model No MS2264. Osazený: CPU T6600, RAM 2x 2GB/1333 MHz. Zkusím použít CPU s 25W příkonem , tedy P8700. Nezkoušel to někdo? Myslím že by to mělo chodit i na Win 10. Tedy pro běžnou práci.
Effectively pointless and painful upgrades of old laptops for marginal improvements is fun! Still want to upgrade the cpu in my old lattitude, I'm sure it'll end in regret.
those are easier, dell laptops are best for taking it apart and upgrade the cpu, you slide the bottom case and the heatsink cpu ram and hdd is accessible
I agree, Windows 10 is just so bloated that it slows down Core2Duos a lot. Unless you are only doing very basic tasks, best thing is to just go Linux on those nowadays.
This machine was painfull now but it's really still working even after 10 years compare to new Acer
Yeah you have to at least respect it for that haha
I bought in 2009 still working

Puedes probar actualizado a un core 2 duo t9600 compatible con este modelo, velocidad de 2.8 ghz, y con ello el rendimiento mejorará bastante

try updating the bios, or checking if the cpu is compatible with the mobo, mine is the JV50@@mateuscosta8156
Sometimes you have to do something just because you can.
Yeah I guess

You can install any OS, no PC is tied to Windows. My guess is that something with your boot stick is wrong so that it doesn't show up.

I'm sure there are a lot of other screens that fit this laptop, you just have to make sure the pin layout on the connector is exactly the same.

nainstalovat program CPU-Z do notebooku z internetu. Na záložce "Mainboard" se podívejte, která čipová (Chipset) sada -> GM965? GM45? GL40?

I'd say no. If you upgrade a HDD to an SSD absolutely, but nothing more.

No, you can't change it to a Core i3 or i5 because it's a different socket.
