My first play through I had a female mealy chestnut that I found outside the sheriffs office in Valentine at night. I was completely alone, gave her a pat, an oatcake and managed to steal her without a fuss. I named her Cherry and saw that after that Arthur had drawn her in his Journal on one of the first pages after the prologue. I had Cherry from the beginning to the very end. :')
you either dont own the game or are lying, you cannot find these horses outside of pulling wagons, you also cannot feed horses you don't own or haven't bonded with
@@JaseHDX idk about the wagon thing, but you can feed any horse in the game without having any bond with them
@@JaseHDX you can definitely find them without them pulling a wagon. I got mine in by stealing it from on the npcs camping on the wilderness
@@JaseHDX or you just haven't seen everything on the game lmao im only starting and i've met a few belgian horses pulling wagons
@@JaseHDX u can feed them
i stole mine and named him woody, he died a min after, i did not see the cliff.
R I P
I wish I could be that clumsy with my đ
I got a warped Arabian did not see the train
I lost two horses by falling off cliffs
@@m.i.s.t_24xo96 I lost my WHITE ARABIAN off a mountain.
I have a beautiful male mealy chestnut Belgian Draft horse named BigFellaâ w/ a coffee colored saddle & matching accessories. BigFella & a clean shaven palmadedâ Arthur are a sight to behold.
I have the mealy chestnut named Sally. Dont know where I got the name.
Hatchett MustSeeT.V. I respect you.
I have my own Belgian draft in real life, naturally, he was my main horse for the entire game. They truly are gentle giants and overall a beautiful breed (I am very biased haha). I loved that Rockstar put them in the game.
that's so cool! I hope your horse is doing well
I had no idea there was such a difference between the horse breeds besides speed and looks. Thanks for the amazing video!
The Mealy Chestnut Belgian Draft is one of the best looking horses in the game especially in the snow.
exactly itâs deffo my fave rn
Stole mine, was an absolute beast. Named her the Duchess. I was devastated when she died with old boy.
R.I.P
I had a light gray shire since day one I named the Duke and it towered over the Count and I fucking cried seeing the boy go down
ooh i called my arabian duchess haha
In the mission "The Course of True Love" you can take the Belgian Draft from Penelope Braithwaite. That horse is already saddled hence you can use it as a temporary horse and thereby as a nice packhorse that comes with a saddle . If you steal one freeroaming it won't come with a saddle so you can't fix hunted animals unless you make it your main horse. I like the idea of having a more robust breed as a packhorse. No real advantage. But just for role play.
I had a Blonde chestnut mare that I called "Big Red" after dying her mane and tail red. I thought she looked formidable next to other (smaller) horses, and loved her level-headedness in gunfights.
I used to own the blonde Chestnut.. it was a female and I named her Epona đ I even matched her gear exactly to Epona from Legend of Zelda!
Same. She was the last horse i had with Arthur.I bounded her to Level 4 and she died at the end.I wanted to cry
@@raptorblack2269 The last horse I had on my first playthrough was Buell... I cried.. But I played again JUST to have him again as John c:
I had my white Arabian Nessie from chapter 2 to the end
There's a lot of Epona look alike horses in RDR2. The Dapple Palomino American Standardbred, Flaxen Chestnut Hungarian Halfbred, Gold Palomino Tennessee Walker, and the most accurate version of Epona is the Blond Chestnut Belgian Draft. The head crest look exactly like Twilight Princess Epona.
love how quickly you explain and get to the point! you have a new follower!
It is a petty for the online stats but the new Nagodoches saddle makes it usable, for me it is the most beautifull horse in the game, along with shires, the handling is not so bad at all and, my god, so far the bravest horse I tried, and I have top ones - Aligators and Wolves just dont bother him enough to buck you off
Most underrated horse in the game .. brave, strong. Decent pace, my main horse Goliath is a Mealy Chestnut bond 4 never bucked me off!
Yep, the video maker alludes to the best quality of the Belgian- it is really calm in a gunfight. Almost placid. Like, once I got into a fight with bounty hunters and I was already on the ground. While we were shooting at each other, the horse just stood nearby eating grass. Not a care in the world.
This horse may not be average at best; but GOD it's it beautiful.
i love your voice very soothing thanks for all this insight on the horse breeds
Nice informative video, your voice together with music was a pleasure to watch and listen to.
Thank you for answering my questions about these HUGE horses.
Well edited and succinct information. I want to enjoy my huge draft horse, but it seems the best thing about them are their looks.
To be honest, I'm kinda disappointed in the model for this breed. I'm from Belgium, and the Belgian draft horse (or Brabander) is my favourite horse breed. In real life the breed looks a lot like the Ardennes. In fact, most people can't tell the difference between a Brabander, Ardenner and a Zeelander. However, I'm aware that the breeding stock in the US looks a lot different from Belgian/European stock. They are slimmer and often bred to be really tall. So I guess it's only normal that the developers made the horse look like the American horses.
As a fellow belgian, what I find funny is how tall the Ardennais is in game!đ
You forget that horse breeds looked different in 1899
Love ur RDR2 Vidzđđœđ
Simply excellent videos! And I watch a lot of RDR2 videos for the time, so I can compare.
Im belgian and the belgian draft horses are only used to pull cause they are very heavy but no aggressive like a farm day you see these pull 2 tons but in real life there much bigger then in game
Wessel Jacobs my family had a rescue Belgium draft and he was quite a bit slimmer and taller then the European Belgiumâs, itâs kinda like dog breeds some look different in different countryâs
I love this horseâs aesthetics.
Thoroughbred is the best I want. It was the overview of the horse that made me want it. đlove your videos
Belgian was the first horse I bought online, named Spritz.
I don't use him much now but can't get rid of him, he's a goood boi!
I have a mealy Chestnut Belgian named Titanic online that I've had since the beginning. She's my favorite and my character and her are an unstoppable force. I ride a Belgian irl, too, and they truly are a good levelheaded horse
I had the same Belgian since chapter 2, so when Arthur was sad because his horse died in the end of chapter 6, I was also sad in real life. It got me thinking how can we bond and be sad eventhough it's a fake horse???
R.I.P Bowl, best horse ever
It's no different than crying at a movie...
Even with two horse and took it off being my temporary it kept following me which Iâve never seen, very loyal horse
i love ow she dose this al for us thank u for telling us all this so
we know what to get
I really love this horse. Solid as a rock in gunfights and doesn't get freaked out by predators. I'd take it as quick as an Ardennes or Andalusian.
the first horse i ever stole as arthur was a blonde belgian draft, i had her for most of the game except the occasional others iâd ride for a bit like buell, but near the end i knew iâd want arthurâs last ride to be with her. i didnât know about the fate of the horse he rides in those last missions and it broke me, but iâm glad it was her anyway. she wasnât the fastest but she never bucked me or spooked, i personally felt like she was a perfect fit for arthur besides the Hungarian Halfbreeds, or the Thoroughbreds. miss u girl
Something you missed you can find them at campsites
I got a Belgian Draft in RDR2 online. I really like my big girl Koda and will only saddle another horse as soon as I can effort being a trader or naturalist.
I had a mealy chestnut mare named Sorro (Pronounced Sore-u) We had max bonding and I brought her everywhere but I deleted my first rdr2 account and donât have her anymore.
This video encouraged me to steal 4 Belgians from some carts, no witnesses, got some money, one of em went wild dunno where. Now I have 3 Belgian Drafts and a very, very happy Arthur
Edit: Their names are Scorch, Pyrite, and Governer
I have one that i called epona cause of how similar is from link's horse, i just love her and my mustang
I ride one all the time, and sheâs pretty great in all things other than racing.
There was an article in Google saying how bad this horse was, I felt different
I hope you'll do a big video comparing the best horses of each class... I wanna know which horse is the bravest
Wayne Payne98 the bravest horse is the Ardennes and they have great health and great stamina for a big horse
@@elil5703 Thank you! I have an Ardennes and she's wonderful, I'm happy to know she's the bravest.
Arthur: *shots*
Arabian: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Belgian: Ok
Iâve had mine since chapter 2. Heâs still going strong and heâll have no hiding place for the person that killâs him
I stole mine from a couple of cowboys. Best horse ever!
This horse is good for beginners in red dead online, and a name him almond nuts, my first horse dingle nuts died due to a train not stopping, dingle nuts was a Kentucky saddler.
The heavy handling isn't that bad if you're experienced you can kick ass on any horse
Ikr i see people constantly talk about how it matters. I can switch between this and an Arabian easily lol
@@lethalassassin1754 agreed. Any horse can be easily handled once the player gets use to the controls. Particularly with high bonding I find little difference if any between draft and race or elite.
In real life I have ridden and with practice horse and rider become adept at maneuvers and more responsive to each other. I like that Rockstar tried to put that in their game. You can pick any horse for any task.
Lol. I've raced the count with a shire walker and Mustang for example. Even sticking to the path we came out on top. Lvl 3 or 4 bond and a good saddle used. I'll hunt with Arabians Morgans and Nakotas too.
I used to have one and I changed itâs mane style to look like a fjord horse đ
I am not sure why but I am opssed with mealy chestnut coat is so beautiful especially if you put long Maine and tail on it
Bro i just found mine during the mission where you deliver the letter from beau to penolpe. It was just behind the gazebo
Had one of these Giants named it Peaches
On online i have this horse, named her reload. I still have the starter that you can get and I named him crossfire.
dope
Very underrated breed.
I'm a passionate horse tester in the game too and to my big surprise I find this horse is basically the best there is. It's amazing around predators, it's perfect in gunfights and as a bounty hunter horse, it has the perfect speed for immersive play and - you want the heavy handling. It's best with the controller, making for 90% less falls than careening around on a mft, and, pro tip: hunt legendary animals with draft horses. Especially this one as it will face anything. The heavy handling lets the horse move under you rock steady like a platform while you never miss a shot. Normal handling is terribly jerky and irritating after this smooth ride.
very good during gunfight?
@@khairularif7643 Yes. But boost health.
Me triggered knowing that the âmealy chestnutâ is actually a Flaxen Pangare Chestnut.
just bought one of em named her Happy Weed
So preety much the draft got the shaft
I'm real life these Belgians would be called a sorrel, a chestnut is a red coated horse with a mane and tail darker red than its body
I used my Belgian draft for almost the whole game as Author, then bounty hunters killed me and now the horse is dead......
I like to think the one I stole will live a more wild life since instead of living a life of pulling a wagon it lives ruff with outlaws
These bad bois don't give a fuck about gunshots, it's hilarious.
I got mine after finding one pulling a small little wagon. I followed the dude driving it, shot him in the head, and ran away with one of my best horses every :)
I named him Pig. He has a nice merely chestnut coat, he has a braided tail, a very nice mohawk and lots of oatcakes.
The Belgian draft looks like epona
đđđ
Top all that in a bear fight you want that extra height and health to your horse!
Please do the mule.
Mine was named Betsy and i literally had her for like 5 or 6 months. She was the lighter chestnut color. She died at the end of the game. de i get back to valentine Iâm stealing another one.
1:22 why that cougar running so slow
Its been injured. sort of like how after killing a few wolves one of them will retreat and limp away after being shot.
@@waynepayne9875 correct, you can see the cougar's condition is down to 1 star
Got him twice and bounty hunters killed him twice at lvl 4 bonding
Belgian never abandoned me during battles. I dont know why people hate them, I had Andalusian and it has abandoned me multiple times during battles and once literally ran away trampling me. Belgian is awesome and loyal unlike certain elite war horses *Andalusian* cough
This heavy horse has nice stats than Arthur's first horse đ that's very sad man.
I Love Red adad Redemtpion
Yeah I know, Red adad Redemtpion is great.
I stole this horse from a Skinner Brother camp. I use this as a secondary horse if I wanna carry extra game.
Please someone tell me the name of the background theme!!!
Just search up eastward bound music
My game glitches so rn my Belgian doesnât have a Maine or tail
bald horsey đł
Weâre is they plea s fert one
Wait wait wait do you play on ps 4 coz I dođ„ș
I named my female Lil Chubbs
where did you find such stirrups?
You can buy many different kinds of stirrups in the stables đ
I have one named maple đ„ș
Too many Epona variants in RDR2
What is the song?
Felix Whale
In game music.
Aside from being a majestic horse that looks very cool this is actually one of the worst horses in the game... It's quite slow, has ridiculously low stamina and while generally being fearless during gunfights it is a big wuss when it comes to explosions and predators. It gets very agitated at every little explosion and throws you off at every snakes you find even at a level 4, whereas an Arabian horse can keep calm and outrun a pack of wolves, has three times more stamina and is a lot faster. Even the Shire or the Suffolk Punch are better than the Belgian draft as you said.
Dutch..
I had this in online, I honestly hated it. The handling is horrendous.
Online is horrendous
@@asantecazola7009 the only thing I enjoy with online is hunting and fishing. But sometimes hunting pisses me off, sometimes animal carcasses disappear after you kill an animal.
Its my main horse in online, its amusing to see my ole boy tower above their Arabians
@@koryandrews1665 or disconnect after hunting a panther or a cougar or anything rare
@@fahedamer8887 I've been getting back into the game after being off it for like 3 months. I had to take a break from the monotony and was waiting on the summer update. And look, still no update after an announcement about it a few months ago. I think they dropped the ball by announcing it so far back. They should have announced it like a week or two before they decided to drop it.
Canât believe how there is only 7 dislikes
TL:DW - They're kinda crap, get a Shire
Shires are trash as well tho
@@alamo0243 True but they are the best "Heavy" class horses
I've had more fun playing on the BDH than any other breed. The shire is OK too. But I think people should get what suits them. It'll be different for everyone.
Anyone who thinks draft horses are trash hasnât actually bonded with one.
