    Basant which is actually hindu calender season during winter(Indian), that was ancient Utaraayan hindu festival,we celebrate it on every 14th January
    Utarayaan(uatar{north}+ayan{towards})=From this day u can see Sun slightly towards north to south side instead of east to west side
    So we celebrate it as a change in seasons throughout india with different different name too
    Season changes so farmers start their work from this day too so ppl celebrate for that reason too
    Its not banned in india everyone celebrate it with joy
    In some states(mine-gujarat) ppl celebrate by flying kites so u r right that represented india

    Thank you so much for this Dakota. We are constantly amazed on how your brain works. The dedication to getting the MCUTimeline correct is really appreciated.
    Love the idea of INTENT. It is easy to be black and white on these ideas, but that the writers and directors have other motivations when depicting things on screen.
    Also, thank you for being sensitive to these nuances, instead of casting it away, just because it doesn't fit your narrative.
    That is just one of the reasons why we appreciate your take on the Marvel Timeline. This type of care, sets your MCUTimeline above all others (in our opinion).
    Again, thank you.

    something I was confused by was Kamala traveling back to 1947, I know the bangle did that and the show makes it seem like a predestination loop, but with how time travel works in the MCU, she would have probably just created a branched timeline, rather than having always done that.

    Thanks so much for these videos! It's a lot of fun to imagine what a mega-cut of these movies and shows in chronological order would look like.
    I really wanted Ms Marvel to be in autumn of 2024 in part because I didn't want the Statue of Liberty's color to be a mistake and it felt more appropriate for the DoDC agent introduced in No Way Home to quickly reappear in Ms Marvel.
    Also I like it best when the movies and shows cross over on the timeline.
    No Way Home takes place over what looks like late June of 2024 to sometime in December of the same year. That's almost a 6 month period, so it makes the most narrative sense for other stories to be happening at the same time.
    Unfortunately, there does seem to be enough evidence to suggest that 2025 makes a little more sense for Ms Marvel.
    Currently, my favorite order has:
    - Far From Home/No Way Home until the scene with Peter, MJ, and Ned on the roof on their first day back at school
    - the 'current day' body of Eternals (due to Phastos' home clearly looking to be shortly before Halloween because of the autumn leaves in his front yard and a carved pumpkin on an outdoor bench)
    - No way Home picking up with the scenes where Peter starts getting college rejection letters and continuing until the battle on Liberty Island is over and Andrew & Tobey et al disappear.
    - Venom also disappears in the No Way Home mid-credits scene
    - the "2 weeks later" scenes from Eternals w half of them leaving on the Domo and then Arishem abducting others a little later. The post-credits scene w Dane and the sword can go here too.
    - Multiverse of Madness in its entirety
    - Eternals mid-credits scene on the Domo w Pip and Starfox
    - No Way Home starting with J Jonah Jameson saying it's been a few weeks since the battle on Liberty Island and then Peter walking to find MJ in the snow/later swinging in Manhattan in the snow.
    - This snow is then on the ground throughout the Hawkeye show. (w flashbacks placed earlier in the timeline)
    - The Black Widow post-credits scene would be placed during episode 4 of Hawkeye
    Putting Ms Marvel in late 2025 does leave a big gap though. Maybe it will be filled by Wakanda Forever or She-Hulk?

    And for anyone wondering "why is the holiday the most important factor in placing Shang-Chi if it's not the most important factor in placing Ms. Marvel?", it's simple:
    The plot of Shang-Chi *depends on* the Qingming Festival specifically, as it's the only time Wenwu can reach Ta Lo safely with his troops. It being a holiday for the dead also fits thematically with Ta Lo being a city of heaven & with the Dweller tempting Wenwu with false promises of his dead wife.
    The plot of Ms. Marvel *doesn't* depend on Eid Al-Adha; Kamala could've saved that kid at _any_ outdoor public event, & Eid was chosen for the reasons Dakota specified in the video. The plot _does,_ however, depend on it being early in a school year, also for the reasons Dakota specified in the video.

    Great video. I totally agree with your assessment that the series doesn't have to occur on the actual date of the Eid celebration and rather that the series happens when it makes the most narrative sense (i.e. Fall of 2025). For what it's worth, I think the same can be the case with Shang Chi and that it could occur when the Disney+ timeline places it (i.e. July 2024) rather than when Qingming Jie occurs in early March. Just my 2 cents on that. But great video. Very nice work!

    • @Geekritique
      @Geekritique  Před rokem +1

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U Před rokem

      @@Geekritique Yeah, that's what I'm thinking as well. She-Hulk may really help explain things, based on its placement. I just can't believe that the Disney+ timeline is so off base. It is strange looking, but I think they are consulting with someone at Marvel before placing items. Oh, and throw Far From Home in the mix of movies that ignore when something really happens. The Festival of Lights is in October each year but FFH clearly takes place over summer break. So that may be three movies/shows (Shang Chi, FFH and Ms. Marvel) that include cultural events on dates other than when they really occur. It's weird when they do that, but as you point out so well, the creators want to include the events and aren't concerned with their actual timing in the real world.

    Several people have asserted the d+ timeline placing moon knight at the end wasn't a mistake, it's meant to be a temporary placement. The real time frame depends on when titles like Blade take place, which is suspected to have Moon Knight. I agree and am sure they just wanted to keep the timeline open. But fatws being swapped with eternals and iron man 3 being swapped with dark world is reason enough to worry about the validity of the d+ timeline.

    • @Geekritique
      @Geekritique  Před rokem +6

      @-Titan29- Před rokem +3

      @@Geekritique Yeah I absolutely agree, the moon phases match too well to be a coincidence (great video btw). My point was that in case it does get retconned whoever is running that d+ timeline section probably wants to play it safe. I actually think that if Moon Knight appears in Blade, and Blade takes place not long after eternals, then Moon Knight takes place not long after Eternals which is exactly where you have it placed!

    • @jackprather3471
      @jackprather3471 Před rokem +1

      I don't see any reason to think that the Eternals post credits scene w Blade's voice has to be very shortly after Moon Knight. Maybe you have seen something I haven't?
      I currently personally have Moon Knight shortly prior to Far From Home and the 'current day' events of Eternals during the early part of No Way Home.
      After all, Phastos has a carved pumpkin at his house, while MJ has to take down the Halloween decorations part was through NWH.

    • @-Titan29-
      @-Titan29- Před rokem +3

      @@jackprather3471 Yeah I worded that really weirdly. What I actually meant was that if Blade takes place in the same year as Eternals, and Moon Knight appears in it, that would mean that Moon Knight takes place before Blade, and probably shortly after Eternals. Just wanted to bring this up, you mentioned around 10:33 that there are no Muslim holidays in fall, which is technically true, but only because all Muslim holidays fall on the Hijri calendar, which is a lunar calendar that moves around 10 to 11 days on the regular solar calender every year.
    So they *can* fall in, well, fall
    It's just that the most prominent ones don't in the year this movie takes place in

    Eid is a moving holiday depending on the lunar calendar. Eid al-adha occured in September in the years 2015, 2016 and 2017 and will occure again in the years 2047, 2048 and 2049. So it's not impossible that the MCU simply has a different Lunar Calendar than our real world. And you know what that reconciles? Moon Knight's placement in 2025. If the phases of the moon are different in the MCU, the phases of the moon in Moon Knight might work with a 2025 placement.
    And why would the moon phases be different in the MCU? Well simple: If Khonshu can change the phases at his whim and the Moon Knight is stronger during a full moon, I'm certain he has manipulated the moon many times to give his various avatars power boosts throughout the years during difficult battles. Especially during the time that the Ennead were worshipped and wouldn't banish Khonshu for messing with the sky. Over-time, that added up and threw off the MCU's lunar calendar and thus the various moving celebrations like Eid and Easter.
    I'm gonna do some more research on this and DM you if I have more concrete evidence! Thanks for all the work you do!

    This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but would the trees be out of sync due to the blip? Thanos eliminated half of all living things. Surely that means half all trees as living things must’ve been dusted too? So would the trees that got dusted in Summer 2018 and then blipped back into existence in Fall 2023 still be in their summer phase?

    • @Geekritique
      @Geekritique  Před rokem +3

      No, that’s not how they work. Trees detect seasons by the amount of light coming from the Sun, and the type of light. When there’s less, their photoreceptors know to shed their leaves.

    If we conclude that Ms. Marvel's Eid takes place in September, wouldn't that mean that we can't assume that any holiday falls on the same day of the year that it does in our universe? And as such, wouldn't that throw Shang-Chi's placement into question as well as our ability to use the pumpkins on Phastos's porch in Eternals as evidence? And if holidays don't have the same dates in the MCU as in our universe, we can't assume that the school year is the same in the MCU as in our universe, which might throw off some of the other Spider-Man/Ms. Marvel productions.

    • @Geekritique
      @Geekritique  Před rokem +1

      The difference being that Eid is a holiday that regularly orbits our calendar. Every year it’s 11 days earlier. So it will eventually be in September. The other holidays featured in the MCU are fixed, and the school year is logically oriented with summer breaks and other holidays featured.

    I would ignore the misplacement of Eid, I would chalk it up to Eid being placed in fall to the “Marvel Universe” because Eid changes date every year. given that, it can be explained that on Earth 616, Eid took place in Fall of 2025

    I've been looking for a logically accurate timeline for the MCU for a long time. Glad to have stumbled upon this channel and subbed
    Small issue I have is the placement of Eternals however. Based on Ajak's own words the Thanos snap happened five years ago - placing the Eternals in 2023.
    Tiamut's emergence was postponed by the snap, which means right after the Avengers brought everyone back again the Emergence would be imminent, so it would suggest that Eternals happened very shortly after Endgame. Maybe it predates WandaVision? What do you think?

I think if they had drawn attention to some of the things that had impacted the world more consistently (like the altered the Statue of Liberty) I may have been more drawn in. A cameo somewhere from someone else would have also been welcome.
