    It does have to do with the transmission; it's called clutch drag and it is completely normal. The clutch drags, turns the transmission, the chain is pulled, and the rear wheel spins.

    casters and adapter plate are sold separate... casters are def worth getting though... and adapter plate you need....

    the bike's in neutral...clutch is not depressed, so it is completely engaged
    clutch drag is something completely different
    I'm not sure why it happens, but it probably has to do with the spinning oil inside the transmission chamber, which transfers some force to the output shaft, and turns it, ever so slowly!

    The best stand I ever did see

  • @fenderguy2
    @fenderguy2  Před 11 lety

    yes it was just from the vibrations and force of the throttle spinning the wheel... nothing to do with transmission... but non of that matters now since the bike was stolen in the summer...

    The guys who talked to me about it were calling it clutch drag even when the bike was in neutral. If the wheel is spinning any time ever the clutch must be involved; whether it is disc-to-disc contact or disc-to-oil-to-disc contact I don't know! All I know is that some spinning at idle is considered normal.

    I've been told time and time again by experts and racers that some clutch drag when the bike is on the stand is completely normal. The term is used more broadly than I think you are aware. It does not always mean something harmful is occurring.

  • @Thomazz46
    @Thomazz46 Před 11 lety

    that's perfectly normal. Most, if not all, bikes do this.

  • @0foxgiven
    @0foxgiven Před 11 lety

    Well then the guys who talked to you about it were wrong, as well! Clutch is involved, but not in the way it is supposed to be involved...it's engaged, so it is acting like a continuous connector between the engine and the transmission
    If you have a bike, compare pushing it with clutch in vs in neutral, and you'll see the difference between clutch dag and "the neutral oil drag" (Just to be clear, I made that name up)
    Yes, it is normal, cars do it to, even automatic ones!

  • @0foxgiven
    @0foxgiven Před 11 lety

    I did not say something harmful is occurring, I just said that this is not clutch drag...
    if the bike's on the stand, in gear, and the clutch is depressed, it still is going to turn the rear, much faster than this...and it's actually not going to stop at idle, that is clutch drag
    This thing can't be called clutch drag, because the clutch is in no way involved in this!
    I'd call it neutral oil drag?! maybe? :D

  • @fenderguy2
    @fenderguy2  Před 11 lety

    yea i agree it was expensive....probably cost only half to make it

    Is your transmission okay or is that normal? I noticed the wheel spinning slightly when you revved even in neutral.
